I took @shanesdiy suggestion and tried out a 3 blade Master Airscrew on the Aeroscout. Wow what a difference. I wouldn't say it feels like a 4s, but it does feel stronger than the normal 3s 2 blade. Maybe a 3.5s?! lol. With GPS on board, it went 52MPH www.masterairscrew.com/products/3mr-series-3-blade-6x3-2-propeller-ccw-black

Yes you do have to fly faster with the petg or heavier materials that is for sure. I'm still trying to find a good link on how to set up a gyro properly with an elevon if there is any information that be fantastic
Fly's great! I've just finished the same scaled-up version @ 120% for my freeing edf.. What was your build weight without a battery? I'm at 800g, a little heavier than I wanted, too much infill. thanks!
860g
PetG does has it's advantage, sadly sanding it to make it look all nice for painting is not one of its strong points.
Nice....so...overall sound difference...better/worse...i know the sound thing is subjective...but its the high pitch whine i would like to eliminate... I like the custom rear stablator upturn tips....👍👍
Yeah. The sound is because it's a pusher. If the prop were in front of the wings, it wouldnt make that sound and be much quieter
Good stuff... necessary
Michael Moran build some great motors 👍👍
Hi Whats Your Email ?
@@AqSheykh kireol@gmail.com
May i ask why you usel ASA instead of LW pla?
Good question. LW ASA is lighter and stronger than LW PLA. Also, more importantly, it's UV resistant. If you leave LW PLA in the sun on temps 85f or higher, your plane will warp. I have yet to have LW ASA warp on me. The down side is it's about 15% higher in price.
Great flying! What rates did you use?
I use full rates with 40% expo. outer most hole on the servo and control horns.
Go to forward programming and adjust your pitch in safe mode.
now do the thrust vector version!!!
The airplane is too far away for us to tell what it's doing. - and you could tell us when it's 1/2 throttle and when full throttle (when it's close enough to observe performance)
That's a good idea
Thanks for your reply. Going to try it now
What the conclusion after 3 months regarding 4s on stock electronic ? Thanks
On mine, I haven't had any issues running 4s on stock electronics.
Holy!!!!!!! Now its a kyle video. Lol great job man, dont give up you got this
Nice job, proud of you. The excitement in your voice. 😂😂😂
Great video! The left sound channel is out, though.
Congrats
Look at you!!
Brillant Job Chris🙏🏼🙏🏼👍
Thank you Thomas!
Are the files available?
Nice. What gyro did you use?
@@ebikefe I'm using the radiolink byme-d
@@kireol Thanks.
Nice thanks for the description.
Awesome maiden!! Can’t beat the old F22
So I assume you scaled up the original version to accommodate the 64mm instead of 50mm? Or will a 64mm fit the original? Great job by the way!
Thanks! Yup. I scaled the 50mm up. 127% if I recall correctly.
@@kireolAwesome! Thanks for the quick response! Great job on yours!
Did you enlarge the whole plane by what %?
Yes enlarged everything. Upscale 127% for my EDF
@@kireol thanks so much for the reply, have a wonderful and beautiful day.
Why not leave the gyro on in winds like that?.... Also try abs it's a little harder to print depending on ur printer but lighter than pla or petg and very durable..
You should try ABS! It is 20% lighter than PLA and has a lot of benifits
I have ABS+ laying around. Good idea!
@kireol did you happen to print one on abs? amazing content btw
@@antoniomedina9136 I'm designing a dassault rafale right now. I printed that out of ABS+. Of course heavier than LWPLA and LWASA, but it flew great. Thanks for the comment!
Any news on this? I don't see any files for this size and based on your comments we cant just resize it right? This little thing is so cool.
There were a few changes needed. Mostly it was opening up the canopy to fit a battery. It does fly, but wants as little wind as possible. Anything over 5MPH will toss it around.
Thanks 👍for this experiment. I too wondered if it was possible for a more budget and robust filament with his designs. I prefer flying them versus reprinting due to my inexperience hand launches and buddy launches 😂. Finally got a few dialed in and actually flying. LW is probably the correct way to go but preference wise Cleaner and less fuss with basic PLA etc…either way they all damage eventually. Just less on the filament cost at least and better accessibility. Only downside for me is crap flight times 😊but still fun at least.
I love it, this models are so nice, is a crime to flight them, LOL Nice job.
Mine is printed in white LW-PLA, TO-weight with 1550mAh 4S is 670g. I maidened it on Saturday 14.09.24, calm wind, a bit coudy. It flies great right from the start ( I use a catapult ) with no gyro. 2 things to mention : 1 - It needs colour. It was difficult to see the orientation when it was far away. 2 - Don't use cyano-glue to glue the elevons as it does not realy stick on the servohorn-material. I lost one elevon at the landing ( no damage ) and could easyly pop of the second one. I use hot-gue now. As I see your experience right now, I will print the F-16 also in PETG, Thank you for the video.
I am really puzzled. I have just finished mine using Overture Air pre-foamed LW-PLA and with a 4S 1500mAh my AUW is 845g! I used the recommended wall and infill settings and an XFly 50mm EDF and somehow I am a whole battery heavier than you!
@@Colin_Holloway he probably used active foaming lwpla. in case you didn't know, active foaming pla is significantly lighter than pre-foamed pla.
That is so cool. Do you have a fpv camera mount that you can put on your plane?
Hello the jet looks great I’m trying to print one my self but having a hard time with the printer setting you wouldn’t of happened to have print this on a raise 3d printer did you
Did you have an autopilot in it, just looking how the elevons react when you were moving it pre launch.
Hi Chris, how are you getting the outer surface wall so thin? What thickness do you set the printer at? Thanks.
I did .55 wall thickness on this one. This is ASA. ASA seems to appear more transparent than PLA.
Looks good! Im justvstarting ro print my 79mm version. 😊
How do you change versions. I got the files, change the values in the "Cura" code program?
@@billsmith2308@billsmith2308 Exactly. Calculate the multiplier to get your size and apply that in your slicer. 70/50 is 1,4. So multiply all dimensions by 1,4 in e.g. Cura and you'll get a 70mm version. Start with the part for the EDF. That's the most critical one.😊 😊
@@fightinggravity3349 <--- good human! Thank you.
Love it.
Yeeeeessss you beat me to the 64! Amazing video. Love the dual camera and commentary 👍🏻👍🏻
How much did you scale up from the original design?
128% he states in the video, would love for him to confirm @@SPIE210ify
Super flight and super camera view, do you start from Gras with the 64?
Hi. Yes. I did yesterday. I've hit a bump on a previous plane and wrecked it after flipping. So I prefer to hand launch for now. I am using your servo covers on this plane. I love them!
So beyond saying "flies great" sure woukd like a bit more details. I bought the plans but havent printed it yet (doing too much with the Mini-Delta where I've modified the intake for better airflow efficiency). So expo, printing tips, other flight characteristics?
It flies a bit slower than other EDFs that I have. It will High Alpha easier than most. It has a low stall speed compared to others. It will drillbit very fast. I run 35% expo on it and full rates. For printing tips, join the facebook group:Kyle’s Designs - 3D Printed RC Airplanes
@@kireol Thanks, that's great info. Unfortunately or not, I have not joined any of the social media sites and never will. TH-cam is about it and I'm close to disengaging here too.
Very cool build! The mixed colors definitely give off the cartoon vibe. It says Im out here to have fun! Good stuff man
hey dude nice video but the sound is to low just so you know
Thank you so much, I have been asking Kyle to do a video like this for so long. And I have been looking for a video like this. I would like to get a shared settings just to have a place to start, and then dial my printer in from there. 😊
Love this designers models. Printing another mini delta now
No matter What.......always do a flight check, and this is why. Good save.
DUUUUUUUUUUUDE what a save!!!!! thats some fantasic flying right there. Great Job getting that beauty back to the ground!
Wow did he bring that in with a rudder only??
Rudder and elevator only. Crazy stuff. The ails were wired the same, so basically had 2 elevators. He's amazing
@@kireol Rookie mistake. Failed to preflight check
🙏 thank you for the great video, I just finally picked up an A1 and was curious how to start printing plane parts with LWpla and heard so many unique techniques to get usable prints. You have definitely provided a great starting point that I have found with this video 👍 I know LW in this area is the way to go as my first experiment with regular PLA dropped like a rock 😂 I knew then back to the drawing board. LW from these known brands obviously aren’t the cheapest options, have you had any success with any particular brand purchased from Amazon you can link too? Thanks for the content…
@@RomeyT-dy8bf I have not used any from Amazon yet. But may try some soon
