The Turaco Story
Jacques Ducros and I are currently writing our 4th book on hummingbirds. In his hummingbird aviary in the south of France, he also has two Turacos. The male Turaco hates Jacques but loves Jacques' wife Mireille. As you will see in this short video, these are very crazy birds...

So I finally understood your question. My co-author Jacques (in France) paid €1,895 for the couple in 2007. I would suppose they are more expensive today -- 12 years later...

I agree with you. Jealousy is driving him to attack Jacques. His female is very sweet but that does not seem to be enough, he wants Mireille too...

*Awwww! He's super cute! I have a Turaco and he loves me a lot, thank God, but he is not a fan of strangers. He won't care for strangers much but if he feels that they are threatening him or his family (us) then he'll show them who's boss. ^_^ thank you so much for sharing! I can't tell you how long I've been looking for this video of yours; I was searching things like "Turaco vs vet" or "Turaco loves owner". I would suggest retitling the video. Give your bird a wee peck (kiss) on the head from me. ♡♡♡♡*

Glad you liked our video. The female, on the other hand, is very sweet to everyone. The male loves Mireille so he is very naturally jealous of Jacques. These birds have very interesting behaviors that are almost human at times. Fun.
This video is amazing. I live in Florida. USA. Do you know if its require to have a permit to have a Turaco? Thank you for the video .
