Thanks for this video ! I own an Inspiron since 2017 and it always worked well but recently I installed Support Assist to update my drivers and such but I have the exact same problem shown in this video. I uninstalled the two Support Assist software and I believe it resolved my problem.

Why not just connect it to your non dominant hand. That way it won't get in the way.

My laptop doesn't stutter or freeze. But it does new issue. If I leave it ideal for few minutes then screen goes to sleep. And it won't start whatever you do. At the end it ran out of charger and then I connect it to a charger and start it and it's start working. Please advise what to do?

I have this in 7567 inspiron and this solution helps little bit but I have installed linux and there is still problem....in bios in power events there is so many errors so i think is POWER/ACPI problems or BIOS....anyway I dont recommend buy again Dell to anyone

The problem Started again when I did factory reset , probably I uninstalled that when I bought the laptop 3 years ago , but, I didn't remember that 3 years after. So in 2021 it's still happening :´(, I hope this solution works for me. Thanks for posting it

man I don't know what to say really!! this problem has driven me crazy since day one of my purchase of this non cheap 1500usd dell G5 5500 machine, I've done so many things to get rid of it, including reinstalling realtek drivers and switching to the native drivers and changing the power settings of realtek driver in the registry and even reinstall windows couple times and nothing solved my problem except for your glorious video! I just switched to 16bit instead of 24bit audio and uninstalled this filthy dell application and voila!! the problem is gone.. thank you so much sir, may the lord lighten your path always

It's 2020 and still the same problem on a new inspiron 7591. Removing the support assist removes the stutter. It's really crazy that after 5 years the issue still exists on the latest hardware and OS.

it will not surprise you to hear that my Dell XPS 15 9570 also had the video playback stutter issue fixed by this quick and easy pruning of shitty manufcturer bloatware. Thanks a bunch!

You can ground yourself using your power supply if it’s plugged in. The fact that your pc case is sitting on some plastic table cover is a terrible idea. Had you not been using an anti static wrap you probably would’ve lost hundreds of dollars in parts. Take this shit down

Hh. So funny. I'm not hardcore programer or sth, but I know some things about computers. I bought g7 in january for 2200€. From day one, random freezing every once in a while. Sometimes interval was 3 hours, sometimes it froze 3 times per hour. Uninstalled every dell software, put ssd to nonsleep mode, I was also checking cpu usage. Nothing. But I did not uninstall this, dell support assistant. Crazy. The software checked computer every week, I felt like: "ohhh they are checking it, no problems, drivers updated, nice! Thank you dell." Well 1 week ag0 I uninstalled the assistant and ever since not a single freeze. Thank you man. 😀

Wow, THANK YOU so very much. I have a Dell Inspiron 27" 7777 AIO and I have been experiencing this very annoying problem for the last three months. Looked everywhere for an answer (even Dell) with no solution. Today I find your video and my problem is resolved in less than a minute. It's amazing to me that Dell could be unaware that their support software is causing this problem.

Thanks very much! I had the same issue with my Razer Core egpu and Dell XPS 15 9550. I couldn't play any game or do office work, but now it runs fine! Thanks so much. What a crappy software is that Dell Support Assistent by the way. UPDATE: unfortunate it didn't resolve the problem. The stutter came back. I found out that it had to do with the external GPU and the audio via the TB and HDMI. I disable the speakers in the monitor and removed Nvidia HD audio driver. This eventually solved the problem! I hope this helps others too.
