Finally back on track after 3 years- S2000 at AMP
This was my first track day in almost 3 years! The car felt great. Track day with Jzilla on 3/19/2023. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FREEZING. This session was last session of the day and it was probably 37F.
Car is on Feel coilovers14kg/12kg, Megan front sway bar, Carbotech pads, and Falcon RT660s.

มุมมอง 2.7K4 ปีที่แล้ว
People...go to the drivers meeting. The driver of the orange car was on pole and didnt realize we were doing a standing start. He tried to correct himself once he realized his mistake. This was at the 2019 Hyperfest event.
DRIVER 26 - NASA ST5 NCM Motorsports Park Lap Record, 2:22.3

I ran this lap late in the Race after I got some space. Set on Sunday March 31, 2019. It was a nice cool sunny day to stretch the legs. The S2000 was running pretty good, but I'd like to set the dampening a little stiffer next time and push harder into the sweepers.
DRIVER 26 - My First Wheel-to-Wheel Race
มุมมอง 6255 ปีที่แล้ว
This was my first race EVER. After getting my competition license, I cant say I was nervous but I was hype to go compete. I ended up winning both my races that weekend and passing nearly 25 other cars. This was at NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, Ky with NASA Great Lakes on March 30, 2019.

So, I take some time to introduce myself and get a little further into my fender work. Also, I'm trying something new with the intros each week. I am finding ways to shorten it and make it effective. This blog was recorded 7/28/18-7/29/18. IG: @will_powaa

I was looking forward to a day of jamming with the guys until... The sound is from the rear facing cam.
The last session in my S2000 - rear view

I got a rear view shot for the first time. I'm glad I got to hear my car sing its last song, because I total it in this session.
S2000 Crash at Road Atlanta

Understeer and early turn-in took the life of an S2k. Went 1:41.8 from turn 3 to turn 3 though.
S2000 Spin at Mid-Ohio

Got a little too aggressive with the throttle and I didn't open the wheel up enough. I was trying to get a good run down the back straight to stay within reach of the M2 in front of me.
S2000 Chasing a BMW M2 and e46 M3
มุมมอง 2346 ปีที่แล้ว
This my first time at Mid-Ohio and found a good couple guys in my HPDE 3 group to chase. Ended up running a 1:42 in this lap but my theoretical best lap should been a 1:40.6. Just could put it all together because lack of experience and track time. Had a great time though!
S2000 vs E46 M3 @ Mid-Ohio Rolling Start w/ NASA GL
มุมมอง 1326 ปีที่แล้ว
HPDE 3 practicing rolling starts. Me and the M3 driver get in front for this rolling start and have at it. There was no warm up lap so after the 1st turn we went about 90%. This was my first time at this track as well.

Second half of the last session of the weekend. I threw away what looked like my fasted lap of the weekend because I thought the Hoosier were too greasy to safely continue. Probably should have toughed that lap out.

Хотел по травке срезать? Так тебе и надо
What a boom, hope you ok!
yep, this ones going in my cringe compilation
Man if only you would have went against instincts and riped the wheel hard left and mashed the gas you might have been able to reduce the impact and kept the damage on the rear. That look like that hurt!
these assetto corsa graphics are getting crazy
Sim racing is much less expensive.
Claramente desconcentrou depois da boa volta anterior...
That is one fast track. Sorry for the shunt.
You handled a potentially catastrophic situation really well. 👍
He was a passenger, he didn't handle 💩
Immer sofort gegenlenken sobald eine Hälfte des Autos wieder auf den Asphalt kommt. Klassischer Fahrfehler. Der Unfall wäre vermeidbar gewesen.
hit that S curve at 100.. whoops. Bye bye cute little Honda
The front wheel shock absorbers are adjusted too hard
lol
Are you entering 4th at 80mph? I would've expected longer gears from these cars (unless aftermarket of course)
I know this is 5 years old but props for posting this. It isn't easy to post a loss or mistake. Respect.
Thank you for uploading this. You probably saved hundreds of people from crashing the same way.
I don't believe you wanted to do that
NOOOOOOOOOO S2000 HAS CRASH PLEASE BE CAREFUL MAY OPEN AIRBAG AND WILL BE GETTING BLOOD PEOPLE
Brother, when re-entering a track, STRAIGHT WHEEL…your front tires will bite first while the inside rear will stay in the grass. Glad you’re ok. Race car’s damage buffs right out.
why didnt u rip the ebrake?
That car always looks unstable on track
Only cause of the 'driver'
@@westfieldracer No, it's just a tail happy car
No throttle, no brake, clutch fully depressed until all four tires are fully back on asphalt, and this crash won't happen.
lol
Looks like your reacting too late, too little and then you just gave up. That poor car.
Always hard to see a track mishap. I put in many a fun lap at Road Atlanta. Occasionally there would be a driver who didn't complete the event but is was rare. Sometimes drivers just have mental lapses or their ego exceeds their ability. At lunch Panoz Racing, who ran the events, would have their driver sit with us and give us feedback. Some of the stories were wild. I only had one close call when I had partial brake failure heading into 10A. After I crested the hill (~160 MPH) I braked at the 300 ft mark and fortunately held the turn.
loved the part where he said its crashin time and crashed all over the place
wahheeeyyy, glad it's back
anyone else notice the previous skid marks on the track, definitely not the first time this happened in that section.
Was too confident. Should have taken the L and backed off the gas while in the grass and braked and moved aside when got on the tarmac. He gave it gas with grassy tires and paid for it.
Now you can get a real car.
The only reason I went with a gas saver instead of a sports car. I cant afford to crash it on the track and I know I would eventually. 😢
You must just put power down
...and crash even harder 😂
Kinda late to the party, but: NO steering wheel inputs when encountering changing conditions(e.g. re-entering track)! The S2k is balanced to rotate well under normal track conditions. Increase the rotation by having the rear tyres on grass and you have a beyblade.
Man, looked like you had it saved. Tough break, but happens to all of us though.
Oh dude, that sucks. I'm sorry. Did you get the car back out?
Yes. I have restored the car
Just came from Your crash video 3 years ago glad to see it back ❤❤
I need to get like you with editing my GoPro footage with the telemetry!
You should! I just used the go pro telemetry for this one.
DOH!!!
That...sucks
What a monkey
The reason you crash is because you had a low reaction when the car starts sliding after exiting the grass. I know its easy to say behind a screen, but you should work on your steering response, it will help you to understand more priscisely what is happening to your car. I can say this because I was street racing and drifting with the weight of my old fwd van in snow, rain, and dry pavement. And the fact I was playing so much with the car give me some good reflex and experience, it literaly save my life more than once. So yea, you should learn to go sidway to be faster and gain in experience.
man that stinks, thought you had it once you got back on the track but guess the sudden surface change upset the car
Always have to come to the comments section on videos like this to read all of the "experts" that chime in...I'll just say it looked fun until you wiped out...better luck next time. Wish I had an s2000 to play around with.
Oh wow man! Glad you are ok.
I'm so sorry man. Very good driving though. Shit happens unfortunately.
Was the impact only about 30mph ? It’s a total loss? Damn
I was rooting for you when it cleared up but that jump back into grip. I feel for you dude. 💔
That's shitty that you smacked the wall but you barely put any effort in chasing the rear when it stepped out after mowing the lawn. Coulda given it way more oppo.
This is the worst possible thing that could happen, going off into the grass is fine but the slightest turn in the wheel can cause what just happened, sorry about the wreck man.
You could have saved it by slowing down for that last turn so you didn't end up on that grass! /s So many experts in the comments who think they would have somehow done better...
