Hi, best practice is to get emgine to operating temp before draining the oil, advantages are faster draining with thinner oil, more likely to remove any debris. Although at times i have drained after standing cold for a few days it is recommended to drain when hot. Hope I haven't cause d any confusion, I appreciate your views.
Thanks. I’m on the way to replacing bank 1 sensor and this vid helps alot
Can you take this out without the engine being at tdc?
Hi thanks for viewing, yes I did, can't see a need to be at tdc, the chain will slacken but will stay in timing, remove cam shaft cover to observe the slacken then tension as you release new tensioner, kind wishes, John
not Otrahonga ...Te Awamutu... cheers :)
Hi many thanks for viewing, thanks I got the town name wrong, can't believe being a Taranaki boy and traveling through there so often, old age I guess, very kind wishes, John
good shop , there was a MV Agusta and a 1970 BSA Rocket 3 in there not to long ago, its in my home town, brilliant shop :)
Hi . Where fid you get the new seat cover from . Cheers from Kaiwaka
Hello, sorry just seen your question, I found it on ebay, about $30- it was a good thickness of vinyl too, prob usually is cutting foam repair inserts with contact adhesive then a thin dacron cover to give smooth surface for the new cover to sit on, many thanks for viewing the video, and sorry for the delay in answering you, kind regards John
Thank you for the video I had already taken off the little hose off, but I was a little hesite to remove the big coolant hose… Thank you once again
Sailed on her to the Falklands and did two turns on her in Stanley
Hello, many thanks for viewing, you must have so many memories, I just was at the yearly ussco reunion last fortnight, i was an electrical officer in late 70s, chatted with ships electrical officer who sailed the waihini out from Glasgow 1966, and and 1st mate too, I have quite a view ussco ships videos, hope you get time to view them, very kind regards, John Lamb
Man that red and blue style is just so iconic. I used to not really like the look of it but it's grown on me. Would love to get an 85 XR600
Sounds good. I wish I'd hung on to mine. Such a great bike to go anywhere.
Hi much appreciate your viewing my bike, yes these bikes are a solid build and in those times a great design, easy comfortable ride, plenty of performance for a 250, kind wishes
Beautiful collection
Hi much appreciate your viewing, yes they certainly are, each one has an appeal and world following, kind wishes
😮🫵👍
Nice One Sir jon.
👍
have 85 and 90 xr 250 and yes more can be done to the 85 its tricked out 3x cam , valves etc, bigger carbs , super trapp and white bros suspension topped with old trollberg tires lol. 90 still stock.
Hi whow those mods sound great, my sold my 90 xr early this year after 20yrs, glad to hear of your bikes, very kind wishes, John
The 85 is better looking and I believe it was a little faster too due to the 2nd stage carb.Better top end.
Yes I do like the 1985 model, you're right on the twin carbs they give full range of fuel delivery, I have had a ride on it and its got nice range of power from low end mid range and top end, thanks so much for your viewing, very kind wishes, John
Thanks for the video Jon. Loved my Honda XR200RE. Lots of great memories trail riding it. Even had go at the odd enduro 😂 I have a major hankering to buy one again…even keen to do a restoration. Just looking at some of my old pics from 1986 😅
Hi, XR200 great bike, many thanks for viewing, I'm 67 and still enjoying these bikes, so if you are able, go ahead. Next video I will line up the ax1 250 degree and both XRs and look over more detail of differences, very kind wishes to you
remember unboxing my 1986 XR600R. Great memories, absolute beast. enjoy mate
You made a couple of good points, buying them in good condition, and enjoying them !!!!!!!! So true
Which is the best bike, which and why ?
Hi both are great bikes, but I guess I'm a Honda guy, so the Xr250, buy the Suzuki Drz250 is both kick and electric start so that can make easy starts, thanks for viewing, very kind wishes
What do you think about the Xl250R?
Hi I think they are great bikes, also parts are reasonable cost, engines are very reliable and working on the engine is pretty straightforward, kind wishes, thanks for viewing the XR250
Cheer~~~the part of a ship providing accommodations for passengers with the cheapest tickets.(rust a lot)😊
How do you know if you need a new clip seems to be fit right coolant leaking from the bottom
Hi, heck that's interesting. Well I think I would drain the coolant first, then remove the clips at both ends and remove the hose from the car, give it a very careful inspection, it may have split right by the end sleeve, prob replace anyway if it's been there a while, they tend to soften, also very carefully clean in where the hose slides in, possibly something not letting it bed in place properly, or is there a crack in bottom of housing. Good luck, thanks for viewing, very kind wishes, John
thankyou Jon
Looking forward to seeing some of rides, kind wishes, John
Is that bank one or two
Hi many thanks for viewing this video, as I pulled the sensors out I mentioned the bank number then, I ended up replacing both sensors wish was best plan, sorry its been a while now since I did this, the other videos on this job are probably going to be helpful to you, today I was driving the santa fe and stuck in slow traffic and I was again very pleased with the smoothly running v6, kind wishes, John Lamb
I have been there and it's beautiful 😊
Hi many thanks for viewing, hope brought you nice memories, yes it's real nice that's for sure, kind wishes, John Lamb
yay I live there
I have been there. 😊
Hi many thanks for viewing, ok hope you enjoyed your time there, nice food excellent service as well
Could this be used for a off grid generator
Hi many thanks for viewing, it can generate but not really a suitable machine due to the centrifugal start switch, a car or truck alternator is a good starting point for a simple generator project, I have a car alternator video back a year or so, you might find useful, very kind wishes, John
Love your work please show me any dick heads what you see out on the road great work have a good day
I was born not that far from this beach! 😱
Hi thanks for viewing, it's such a nice place
How do you actually release the clip to remove hose?
Hi, many thanks for viewing, I used a pick and very carefully and slowly worked it out of its groove, once the clip is out, the metal hose end should also carefully pull out, don't loose the clip, kind wishes, John
Hello, what will be the reason why my clutch lever is not engaging no more after Changing clutch?
Dear Ricardo, ok, well it can be a few reasons, was the fibers and steels packed into the basket correctly, if it's slipping and not grabbing then you may have a pushrod clearance issue which is pushing to clutch in when the housing was bolted onto engine case, I think whatever the reason is, drain oil and disassemble the whole clutch and maybe so clearance putty to measure clearance as you mock up fitting it etc, study my videos and hopefully they can help, good luck Ricardo, John Auckland New Zealand
Explain if readings are in or out of range plz
Hi Jon, yes they are well in range, go online, if you can find AS/NZs 3000 section 8 table 8.1 8.2 they show the max value for Z to allow MCB to open in less than 0.4 seconds, hope this helps, very kind wishes, John Lamb
Air-Cool motors rule...especially oil cooled motors. Water cooled motors don't belong in motorcycles, instead they belong in steam boilers.
Running smooth
I thought 3 way means 2 switch and the bulb. I guess I read wrong
Hi some people say 3 way, some say 2way with intermediate, all three switches control the light by switching the phase, this circuit is live common connection, many thanks for viewing, kind wishes

Such a beautiful place I live in Auckland nz and have always wanted to visit Taupo
Hi thanks for viewing, yes also in Auckland, favorite place to visit and relax, if you want to view, I have other videos of Taupo and the surrounding areas, kind wishes, John
Wasn't both Union & NZSC were absorbed or acquired by P&O by 1977 & all the remaining ships, sadly, rebranded with a buff coloured hull & sky blue samson posts & derriks? Missed the glory days by a decade 😢
Hi, thanks for viewing, I'm ex ussco nz electrician, there are some very good books written and online content of the history of ussco, hope you've seen my Whyalla videos of ship builds, very kind wishes, John
Looking good James
0:26 Hi, I'm considering using a 6mm allen or torx bolt instead of this 10mm bolt, an Allen key would get to the bolt head without the removal of the coolant hoses, if I need to do this job in the future, a long allen key would certainly reach
don't get too excited guys, there is no free energy
How TF did this poorly made non English video end up in my recommended feed? The LED isn't even running on water, it's running on the electrogalvanic potential of the electrodes in the water. Just like a double A battery.
WaaAAaAAw~~~~
Hi I've brought a 1/4" flexible shaft extension, I think that will bend around and allow me to remove the 10mm bolt that secures the sensor, yes the rear sensor is a right angle unit and waiting for it now, kind regards everyone, John Lamb

I love seaports so much!
Hi thanks for viewing, yes I agree and for me many special memories when I was at sea, working on these big ships
I'm going to guess that you are an Aquarius.
Do you sell the armrest?
Hi thanks for viewing, armrest is nice feature on this car, my other vitz doesn't have it, it's probably available in a toyota dealer or dismantler, kind regards
