The first question is basically yes but its all depending on your nodel number, generally with newer models its 16gb, but its always save to check or call ghe manufactory to be sure how much you can upgrade to For the second question, yes its possible, its hard to see with the angle but it looks like the micro/mini sata ports instead of full size, so you might need a converter or a special ssd for it, you could also convert the port to nvme or m.2, but you would be limited by the sata connection speed, and not the drive speed at that point

Look up the exact model and it should tell you the max DIMM capacity, I would say 16 Gb is fine, if it came with 8 and has a extra DIMM slot then yes 16 is fine and possibly 36Gb. The other piece u pointed to looks like SATA but a HP standard, again use the laptops info to search up upgrades for it, HP should show all the upgrades they might sell for it, that should let you know what you can do. my dell g7 came with 16gb of ram (2x8GB) and i bought non matching ram (a single corsair vengeance 32GB stick) and I use both non matching ram sticks to run dual channel and the performance is identical, and now i have 40GB of ram instead of 16. Might not work for all laptops, motherboards, or BIOS, but you can always return things within the return window.

I you have a 2.5 hdd you can add an 2.5 ssd with like 512GB and itt will be much faster (if you have the budget)

For the ram there is little to no point going to 16gb. I did the same thing recently the computer doesn't use the extra ram. It all shows up on task manager but the limitations of the computer are in the motherboard/apu/ The m.2 drive your pointing while being the same slot almost certainly isn't the same spec as a modern m.2 slot. You could put a ssd in there However you wont get the 3500mbs speed you want. The only upgrade I'd recommend is getting an ssd to replace the hdd you pointed at. That old drive is almost certainly about to crap out anyway and a ssd is 10x faster

If you want to upgrade the ram, see how much ram your motherboard can handle and second, check if the voltage is the same on the ram stick that you want to buy

The quantity of ram that you can use depends on your laptop so you could probably search it online and see what's his max, but i mean 16Gb for a laptop are enough, i mean, they are enough even for a tower pc so, i would not spend more money to buy more ram, obviously it depends on how you will use it, if you want to work, to play games... and also depends or your other hardware specs. Anyway the other slot in an PCIE slot for M.2 ssd's probably a gen 3, but could even be a gen 4, so make sure to buy the right gen to let the ssd work at the max speed that you have payed. You can add a 2nd ram stick of the same model for a total of 16gb, or you can switch ram stick completely for more ram ( which is recommended ). Storage wont necessarily make the computer run better, but will give more space and potentially faster load times. Could look into upgrading cpu, but youll need to know the mobo chipset. As another comment said, be mindful of how much heat you are generating. That laptop only has 1 little fan and probably bad airflow.
