Hey, we've read the script you sent. We thought it was a cute and fun start to a series. We especially enjoyed seeing the new characters you added (it's also nice to see more women in Brok). The scenes between Brok and Kaylee, and Graff and Ott were both really cute. ^_^

@@MsNightMantis Evening, Motts & Mantis. I'm so, so happy y'all loved Part 1 of my pilot episode & I wanted to ask. If you had to pick a particular part that was your favorite, what would it be?. My favorite parts that I wrote was: The way I ended the episode in Brok's dream and him seeing, Lia again Also, that really funny part where, Kaylee & Graff caught Mandy staring at, Brok's butt when he was bent over getting his toolbox. Fun fact: I got the inspiration for that from the Adam Sandler movie " Blended" in that one scene where the mother of the two boys was giving Sandler's character the bird & the little blond girl next to her asked " Why are you flipping my dad off?" Okay, that's all hope you like my reply, question, & Fun fact... Goodbye 🙂

@darleneandnathandepew3575 My favorite part would definitely be the way Brok interacted with Kaylee. I thought it was really sweet how he relates to her, and lets her wear his hat to feel brave. Motts' favorite part was the little conversation that Ott and Graff had. Also "Kit-kat."

We didn't either. Hmm, another good possibility. I don't know when the check is made, so it's certainly possible. Interesting, and concerning. I wonder why she'd get erased. Unless her survival is tied to Brok going back in time like the Squealers' loss. I can't think of any time that they reference Brok saving her, and she got out of the Asylum herself as far as I'm aware. I didn't expect 18% of people to get Broken Detective first, but the Drumer ending is probably even slimmer. I suppose it does complicate that theory. He did go back in time and fight the Squealers, but probably doesn't have military training. There of course is the explanation that Brok might make different choices across an infinite number of loops. (He still could be his own grandfather if he went back far enough. Ric knew him, and young Brok) it's possible that Brok has spent a loop in the military. Curse you Remn, being mysterious and sequel baiting us. I started translating some of the text in game, and boy are they a trip. And I reiterate "Curse you Remn, sequel baiting us."

I vaguely remember those memes myself. XD It does really feel out of place when you've done everything to try and be there for Graff. I guess it can still work for Brok generally feeling that he isn't good enough. Yeah. Easy explanation I guess would be: Graff is Ott's friend. Slightly more complicated explanation would be: If Remn is the one who built Wes and the Director's new bodies, he probably would want his son to be safe. Conspiratorial explanation: I have a theory (that I don't think I got into in this part) that presents Graff, Ott, and Klay as being chosen to take over as the Triangle.

@@MsNightMantis Yeah I think the best friend one works because he became friends with Ott even though he's a mixed breed and people look down on those. A slightly less but still slightly complicated answer could be that Wes sees Graff as a Drumer born since his biological parents were Remn and Lia. And Brok ruined his life by stealing his deserved Drumer life and making him live as a Slumer. I haven't actually heard the triangle theory before but it does make a scary amount of sense since Atlasia has a TON of focus on triangles and they seem to be three students separated from the rest somehow. Edit: I just realized... with the exception of Graff who's the son of Remn, all of them are related to the triangle members somehow.

@bdfsminotaur805 Agreed. Hmm, that'd make sense. Wes doesn't want this for Graff, he didn't do anything wrong in Wes' eyes. Arguably the human side coming out there. Thank you. Each have a connection to the Triangle; Graff's is the most tenuous, but if Remn is the robot's creator, then arguably he'd sorta be above two Triangle members. Regardless, the three are given so much importance, and weird tests, not to mention the number of second chances by the Director. She literally is giving Graff hints to not accept failing to become a Drumer, and coupled with Wes forcing Graff into the Drums. Something's up.

Ah, I'm not surprised to hear that there's quite a few ways through the kidnapping section. I'm still amused that our paranoid indecisiveness got us the arguably most canon outcome. I do remember that babysitting ad, it was so early in the game I don't think we really thought much of it. But yeah, that's definitely a sign of other forms of racism present in the world. Yeah, there's certainly that "if the world is only ever going to see me as the villain, there's no reason for me NOT to act like it" going on. It's probably entertaining for them to play off of the stereotype, since that's all anyone's going to see. Come to think of it, the Chief is actually pretty nice to Graff at first, and only gets cruel after learning about Brok. Hmm, CowCat understanding slang would imply a very strong understanding of English (even if it were a second language), so translation issues are less likely. Could always just be writing style causing some confusion (it happens). Btw it's really cool you've actually got to talk to the developer online. ^_^ Thank you, I'm excited to see the ending regardless of what we get.

You're welcome (although it's not all that pretentious). It's interesting though, as it would imply the challenge is not being too good at any one thing. That all makes sense. You really need to be playing to the characters, not just to their idealized selves. Brok and Graff are VERY flawed people, and they make mistakes. So the canon ending being one where they make those mistakes makes sense to me. Son of a- -Graff get in the (still unconfirmed but increasingly likely) time machine! Oh well. It IS a new ending, even if it's not the one we were shooting for. (I suppose there might be a slim margin with which it might still work out, I've seen weirder happen in games) Considering we had next to nothing to go off of for how to get the Canon Ending, I do feel we've made a good run at it. Any tips for if we try again?

⁠@@MsNightMantis Fail escaping prison, make Brok a chronic liar, horrible chef, a terrible gift giver, and accuse Ott of murder as he'll tell Graff what happened later. Also make Graff as distant and unforgiving towards Brok as possible and you'll 100% get the canon ending. Or just half of those will work really.

Hmm, really feels like less being mediocre, and more be pretty awful to get the canon ending. Good to know though that it does seem that its having too high of a relationship between Brok and Graff that might do us in.

@@MsNightMantis Trust me, those are some of the nicer things you can do (minus accusing Ott). And those are merely suggestions, you don't have to do them all to get it. (You can always check their relationship percentage in the flowchart in the menu to make sure it's under 80%) And don't think of getting a good ending as a bad thing lol

Okay, that makes me feel a lot better. ^_^ Under 80% you say? Now that's something I can work with (looking for tips online has been like looking for a needle in a haystack, or as the case may be, finding a single sentence in a full walkthrough that's full of other sentences for other endings. It's rather confusing XD ) So far I've got - Don't let Graff pass as a Drumer - Be nice to RJ, and keep him alive (one sentence I did manage to find, and hope is accurate) - Don't be the BEST dad

That would explain why RJ looks vaguely familiar. We had figured that Gherkin was based on the Vlasic mascot given appearance and name. Hence why we refer to him as Mr. Pickles. Huh, that's interesting to learn. I like the idea that they instituted this new currency and never told the populace how to pronounce it. Oh dear, glad we're past that part then. Hopefully that bug gets patched soon. Motts did such a good job on the art. ^_^ As for reasoning, we've played and like both games, they have recognizable art styles, somewhat similar themes. *shrugs It feels right.

The update was rolled out a little while ago so soon everyone should have it. And what are the similar themes? Dysfunctional astranged family? Mysteries? Tons of mini-games? Lol

@bdfsminotaur805 Good to hear. Bugs that break things that badly usually get patched quickly. Similar themes include, but are not limited to: Dysfunctional people, Depression and violent episodes, Poverty, the Dangers of Capitalism, Technology replacing the working class, wanting to leave the small town (Slums) for the opportunity of the city (Drums), Existential horror, an elusive cabal who are controlling the world from the shadows and will do anything in order to preserve some status quo that may never have existed, and Mysteries.

We are goody two shoes most of the time. Being mean to fictional characters hurts us. XD Well that's good to hear. Usually true/canon endings are basically "Good Ending+" and good endings tend to be "say and do nice things for people." Thank you! (Klay did have it coming). To be fair if we're going for a "canon end" we're basically going to treat choices based on what we think makes sense. Graff is pissed at Klay, then later tries to listen to him despite not wanting to. I'm very concerned that we may be cutting it close. To be fair, my attempts to discern what we need to do to get the canon ending (without getting spoiled) hasn't been easy. Really my notes are sparse enough that they could really be talking about any number of potential endings. XD

I don't think I have seen it. Or if I have seen it, I didn't register it as the Spongebob meme. I do remember a sad Hush sprite though.

I suppose we don't really know what the rest of the culture is like. Maybe Brok's from a sorta... Boomer resurgence, or just a similar kind of generational gap? Hmm, you're definitely right about that. Brok fought against the Squealers in the war, so he's certainly been fed propaganda, and has bad memories (or at least the after image of bad memories). We actually theorized that Brok might've been some sorta super soldier, and that's why he's immune to the Haze, and has a big hole in his past. Yeah, it would make sense that he'd have forgotten that with the memory lapses. Sometimes he seems to remember, although it could be just him referring to more recent bouts with the Squealers.

Thank you. Favorite story so far, but mechanically is just like one change from being great. I'd understand that interpretation, even if it isn't the intention. We have so many ads since we almost never spend them (except when frustrated)

The idea of Brok having nightmares about Graff saying ROFL and LMFAO is really funny. They definitely have that sort of dynamic going. It's funny I've never considered it in those words, but you're very right. Oh boy. Given the sheer number of endings, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that getting certain scenes would leave you with a lot to think about certain endings and what they say about the characters.

@@MsNightMantis Oh this isn't related to my comment at all but one time I indirectly asked CowCat what he would want a BROK movie/animated series to be like and among other things I asked he said he'd be down for it being a musical... Which considering Michael Kovach voices 3 characters, Dr. Mink's voice actor was in fan song for his character (although he didn't sing that much), and Brok sings in some endings it's more likely than you'd think!

Yeah, from what I understand the selfie is a gauge on their relationship. I don't know what the percent is, but I'd expect around 70 or 80. Hmm, maybe we'll find out in Chapter 6? Or maybe it's not particularly important, just that it WASN'T supposed to be Brok.

Oh dear. I would expect nothing less from Dialtown though.

That's horrible, I'm not surprised that's possible, but still horrible. I know in the first playthrough I jumped on him like twice and felt so bad after hearing him cry in pain. On Klay's frailty, he is a 15 year old stick of a mountain lion. Yeah, I'd imagine that'd be some added trauma for Graff.

Hmm, that certainly would make for a useful 2000 Unis, although you'd have to be sure you've settled any needed purchases from it first. If Brok is 5'7" and everyone thinks he's tall, that would imply everyone else is a good bit shorter than 5'7"... which checks out given that most of them are much smaller animals. Huh... wouldn't have thought to do that, but it makes sense. Brok is a very large gator. Jumping on that manhole cover would probably break it. Especially if you were to punch down on it.

Oh that's a fun fact! Would also explain some of the weirder designs in the crowd (I think there's a dragon in there somewhere). Definitely the cheapest way to heal... well I think technically going into the lake, then taking a shower is cheaper as there's no risk of losing health, but you also don't get money or exp for doing that. If that's true, than that's an amazing feat of engineering on Shay's part. XD

Good to know, although I don't think we'll be going for the Fall Ending. (I'm not the biggest fan of sad endings, unless it feels right, so I don't tend to go looking for them)

Lol we're polar opposites then. I'm a total sucker for bad endings in things. Maybe a side effect of watching too much Black Mirror? Who knows.

Thank you for suggesting it! It was a fun little diversion from the main game. Ah, that would make the Ott=Cake thing make more sense. That would explain some of the weird minor inconsistencies, like Ott being in a suit for the party, but not being in a suit in any of the other parts. The visual novel was very nice, and I bet for long time Brok enjoyers was a much needed boost. ^_^

Huh, so no peaceful way to deal with that bot I take it? Makes sense, as there really isn't too much available to you yet.
