Are Crystal Palace a Big Club? The Biggest Club in South East London?
Crystal Palace are one of the London clubs who have been around in the Premier League era. Their history goes back a lot further than this of course, but they are not known as one of the biggest clubs in England. Other clubs in South East London might claim that they are a bigger club, so this video attempts to assess whether or not they are a big football club.

Are CHELSEA Really a Big Club? Does London's Richest Club have History?
มุมมอง 2192 หลายเดือนก่อน
Chelsea have become famous in recent years and many people will name them as one of England’s biggest clubs. But they are not like other clubs in England. Nobody can doubt the number of trophies they have picked up over the last 20 years and many will associate them with big spending. But there is more to them than this. They have a long history and there are some surprising facts about their s...
Are BURNLEY a Big Football Club? Are they the Biggest Club in Lancashire?
มุมมอง 2582 หลายเดือนก่อน
When it comes to the biggest clubs in England, not many people would suggest Burnley. This is probably because they were absent from the top-flight during the 80’s, 90’s and first decade of the new millennium. But if we look at their history we can see there is a lot more to them than meets the eye. One of the originators of league football, they were ever-present at the beginning of the Footba...
Are Brighton & Hove Albion a Big Club? Are the Best Run Club in Football Bigger than they look?
มุมมอง 802 หลายเดือนก่อน
If you have watched the English Premier League over the years, you may have been surprised to find Brighton and Hove Albion almost coming out of nowhere to join the premier league in 2017. They had not been a feature of top-flight football since the early 80’s, and even then it was for a short spell. Brighton is known as more of a seaside destination, but why shouldn’t they have a Big Football ...
Are BRENTFORD a Big Club? Or are they the Smallest Club in the Premier League?
มุมมอง 4203 หลายเดือนก่อน
Brentford were promoted to the Premier League recently. This in itself is not enough to make them a big football club. They are not one of London's most well known clubs as they have spent most of their history below the top-flight. This video looks at what they achieved in the past, their support, biggest matches, best players and their longevity. Only then can we fairly assess whether or not ...
Are Bournemouth a BIG CLUB? They Might Look Like the Smallest Club in the Premier League

AFC Bournemouth have spent most of their existence in the lower leagues, so how can they be considered a big football club? In this video we hope to go beyond that to look at some other considerations: their success as a whole, support, matches and players. We also look at the history from a distance to give a view of their ups and downs. Looking at their history from a distance helps give us a...

    Yes, Tottenham is a big club. They have some history andnhave had a big fanbase for decades. But only two league titles is pathetic. Big clubs are defined by MANY leagues. every big club in every country has MANY LEAGUES. the biggest clubs in England, Scotland, Portugal,, France, Italy, Germany. Netherlands, Turkey, Greece, Belgium, etc. have ALL won the most leagues. Spurs is the odd one out. and Spurs has no global name. they've done nothing to warrant that. they have some fans now in Asia or the USA but only due to their recent "success" under Pochettino. not due to winning big trophies. of the big six, they're the smallest overall.

  • @Trecesolotienesdos
    @Trecesolotienesdos 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Yes, they've never wo the CL. but they have a bigger global fanbase and name than MOST clubs that have ever won it. Nottingham Forest or Villa would kill for Arsenal global name. So would Marseille, Porto, Steaua, Red Star, Hamburg, BVB, or Feynenood.

  • @Trecesolotienesdos
    @Trecesolotienesdos 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Hard to argue they are not! they're one of the biggest clubs in the world, in terms of fanbase and brand name. Everybody knows Mourinho, Drogba, terry, Lampard, Hazard, Zola, etc. Arguably the biggest club in London, though Gooners would strongly disagree. As for history, so trophies won i the 1980s were bigger than today? why or how? Even Man United were once a smaller club that got HUGE under Sir Matt Busby. Liverpool at one point were smaller than Everton but that changed after Bill Shankly. the point is what we deem the biggest clubs today had a spurt that mae them big clubs. It's not as if Man United was globally massive once Newton Heath was founded i 1878 or whenever they were founded.

  • @Trecesolotienesdos
    @Trecesolotienesdos 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    with respect, South London hardly has many pro clubs. Themselves, Millwall, AFC Wimbledon and Sutton, that's it. that's not much of an accolade. Ipswich is the biggest club in Suffolf. SO?! they're the only pro club there! theyr'e not a big club. Not an overly large fanbase, no trophies ever, not much history bar developing top players like Wright, Bright, Southgate, etc. In London terms, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham and QPR are bigger. yes, QPR is. they have won trophies before.

    As a Toffee fan, I’d easily put Aston Villa ahead of Spurs and just behind us. Everton might be a dormant club for far too long but Villa have been competing at the highest level for so long, I could not believe they got relegated and was so happy to see them back. I think I still have that 6-2 drubbing they did on us on times of Toni Cottee. We went into the game expecting to get some something, we got smack and sent on our way.

    Villa are a huge Club. Ive been there many times to watch my team Leeds and you can tell when you approach the stadium that they are full of history. I'm old enough to remember the Holte end when it was all standing and in its full glory . We were robbed when we played Bayern in the European Cup final in 75 so i was very happy when Villa beat them in Rotterdam nearly a decade later .

    Chelsea before the takeover by Abramovich were more of a cup team and I would never have classed them as a big club. You only have to look at what they won before the takeover as opposed to after the takeover, before the takeover they only won a single league title 50 years prior, a couple of FA Cups, league cups and a cup winners cup. Look at them now following all the money, they have pretty much won everything.

    They are not a big club but they have a decent sized fanbase considering they have never won a major trophy. To me they are an average sized London club, not the smallest but certainly not the biggest.

    NO.....without doubt an historically important club but they haven't won anything for over 40 years. Just another mediocre lower premiership club. This years "success" has been because of the performance failure of Man Utd, Chelsea and Tottenham.

    Clearly and predictably there's going to be the usual comments from those who ignored the fact that Chelsea had the biggest attendances in England, either side of WW1 and again in 1955. Everything is not set in stone. There was a time, Liverpool were not even the biggest club in their own city while Man Utd were a decent sized but by no means biggest club. As with all these video's, it depends on what you are comparing each club to and where you draw the line. Your attendance graph is not really a good representation in that is an aggregate list, not the average attendance of each club over their entire league histories. Chelsea a 6th. They were recently in 5th but their limited stadium capacity means Newcastle overtook them a little while back. Even so, with the 6th biggest all time average crowds, the first ever club to average 40,000+ attendances a century ago, a record league crowd of nearly 83,000, that alone puts them pretty high in the rankings.
