Hahaha yes, this yes/no table, as simple as it looks, also confused me for a while. In the end, it's pretty simple once you get the hang of it. The "Harm & Luck" mechanics is also pretty cool, and it got its inspiration probably from WofD. If you want to go for something more challenging in terms of narrative or story telling driven RPG and you have a moment to spear for a few pages of reading, take a look at Story Bones Plus or (even better) StoryMax Scenematic Roleplaying. Nice to see the channel is growing and a study rate and thanks to this channel I finally sat down played my first solo game I started as a prisoner locked in a prison cell and escaped walk down, the hallway accidentally threw the chaos dice (It's a d6 that has a red and golden look to it quite pretty) it ruled a 6 so I went with it. Wound up walking into a room with a lady giving birth and managed to pass myself off as a slave that was supposed to help the doctor. got handed the baby walked out the door. Got mistaken for the lady and replaced her. Now the kid thinks he's mine is 4 years old and is starting to ask about his dad dad but I don't even know his mom and she's the only one I've been in a room with😂 It's been quite eventful. I don't know how I'm going to handle the family reunion that's supposed to happen in a week's time in the game

Tunnel Goons is my favorite rules to play with kids and anyone who has never played a RPG before. It's also a model of how to write custom rules.

Nice. I like the simplicity of this game. Why do RPGs generally tend to have such overwhelming rules? Since you introduced me to World of Dungeon I made this my daily driver for solo games. I tweaked it a little and replaced the skill system with the DnD ones. So great, simple and joyful 😊

The initial [i]-[1] placement of the storm was incorrect. The center of the storm is used so part of the storm would have been off the board covering H-i-J if that makes sense.

Looks good so far. You have come a long way. Have a look at Pocket Fantasy RPG. Maybe you can get some inspiration there. I like how it handles skill checks, the re-roll system and DS of foes.

As a thought, how about to create a character you roll 3D 6 and divide up the total of pips as the number of dice anyway you like between the three attributes. Maybe like a minimum of two though to any attribute, unless you roll less than 6.

Nice to see you again doing a play thru with World of Dungeon. I learned about this little RPG due to you and I like it very much. I am actually working on it to adapt it a little bit. I find the "Power by the Apocalypse" system fits very well for a solo RPG. Maybe this should become one of your core mechanics for your own self-made RPG system.

Yeah, OpenAI seems more public customer focused? But like Google's got DeepMind so... Some hard core power there. Agreed, not comparing companies as either will do. Microsoft is interesting, I've got a pc so that would be really convenient. I wonder how long AI takes to make a video? I'm thinking AI DM here - so they could show you a video of what's happening... But I mean even if it was a minute to create it would still be super interesting - and for your channel a quick edit and you could have the description and video play at the same time. And even that's just crazy. But I guess the real problem here is the AI keeping the same characters, backgrounds... Like even with just pictures it would have to remember the previous scene, where everything is... Tricky. But it could draw all the different maps though... Super interesting! If where they're trying to get to is give video AI a book (LotR?) and it animates the entire thing for you? That will have us lot entirely covered. But can you imagine that? It animates an entire book? But the thing that's really making me giggle is Sam Altman's trying to raise 7 billion to build AI? And we're sitting here going: "DUDE! We can make it a player or DM!!! This is going to be TOTALLY WICKED!!!" 🤣😂🤣

I have found ChatGPT as fantastic for npc/item/plot hook description etc construction. Using it to create descriptions of scenes, for npcs, items, and hell even battlemaps, has been quite nice.

To me, a huge part of what's great about RPG's is bringing people together and allowing them to have fun and be creative. Making people and their creativity a smaller part of that equation just defeats the purpose.

This is all just so awesome. Then you throw in linking it to a speech AI, graphics AI - which we could, theoretically, do now and suddenly it's reading out what happens and your seeing pictures of it as well. Looking to the future and give it a 3d engine and suddenly your playing a full 3d game with 3 or 4 other players around the world where all players are talking to an AI on what they are going to do and everyone's watching the results in real time in 3d graphics. Personally I'd prefer rounds, you tell the AI what your character is going to do, initiative related, and then it plays each character's turn. Throw it into VR (UEVR can VR any Unreal Engine 4 or 5 game - more or less) and dude, mind blown. And fella? This is EXACTLY what we all wanted when we first started to hear of D&D computer games back in the 80's. And oh man, I'm starting to believe I'll see it happen before I die. I mean, don't get me wrong, there's some great single player fantasy games out there - baldur's gate 3 is great? Hell, Dungeon Master on the Amiga blew my mind at the time... But against a human DM? It's just no comparison. Star Trek, holodeck is what we want? But if I've gotta stick a brick on my face and we all argue like hell about what, when and where and who does what. People don't do what we all agreed we'll all do, changing things as the initiative plays out - man. The absolute holy grail. This is the first time, the absolute first time I'm witnessing in reality what all (well my AD&D group of friends anyways) 1980's kids playing AD&D envisaged. This is what we wanted. This is the: "Hey man, imagine if...!" scenario. To cool for school. And man, AI with memory? This is the first step to that heavenly glory. Never surrender. Never give up! If you build it, they will come!!!

Really happy to discover your channel. I build a plugin then a GPT called DM Tool Kit to play games with. Now im finding memory in gpt4 chats and using mentions in it to pull the DM Tool Kit gpt as the best method so far.

Would it be possible to make your RPG ruleset available to the public for personal use?

At the beginning of my solo RPG my biggest concern was the ruleset or battle mechanics. Nowadays I started using very simple conflict mechanics such as Worlds of Dungeons (perfect conflict rolls) or Loner (another solo RPG ruleset). D&D conflict rules are too heavy for me. I would lose track of my narrative.

I would say that if you're going to give your character in advantage it shouldn't be just because you want to push things their way. You should have a reason that's consistent with a narrative and adds to the narrative to justify that. If you just give them an advantage arbitrarily, or just for the sake of the narrative, you rob your character of their achievements to some degree.

It's okay, can't control getting sick. If we could then there would be no need for hospitals. This sounds like you get all three of my cats in one. There's the fat old lazy cat 15 years old and will sit in one spot for a week without moving for anything other than food. There's the tiny cat who can jump from the floor to the top of doors, especially likes being on top of the bathroom door. The round orange cat.
