STARS 24 KotC Swift Stars Final Gage Harden
A gloomy day at the 2024 STARS Championship. Swift Stars class final race.
Started last due to a DQ for the old rain tires we ran the prefinal on. Refuse to spend $230 for one race and a kart that wasn't competitive anyway. Ill handling and down on power.
Finally got the kart to handle better than it has in a couple races. Gage drove as good as possible and made up 13 spots by the checkers.
Had a tire rubber stick to the lens a few times during the race...so, no you're not suffering from macular degeneration...lol

Gage had a tough weekend, after only racing a handful of times in the last year or two, he also had to battle multiple bad engines to try to get himself back In race mode... But honestly, that's kind of what was expected after a long layoff. All said and done he did his best in the final and was pretty scrappy, but still needs mores seat time. Devon had to start way back in the field due to some issue (forgot what it was) , but fought his way to the front at the checkers. This was one of Devon's first shifter kart seasons. Old mall parking lot in Anderson, IN.

Darren took Yoda to Sick Week 2024 and this is his first pass of the week. Ran an impressive 11.74 ET at nearly 115 mph!! A little more tuning and he'll be up against the 11.50 cap for no roll bar cars.

Anthony Stiffler's KA Masters final. A loose rear bumper cost in the prefinal him a few spaces in the final...but a slow kart in front of him set him back 5 spaces on the opening lap. Made his way back to P9 at the checkers.

I made the wrong call on gear to start the day and it put Gage at a disadvantage in quals and therefore the heat. Started in P4 and made his way to P2, but AJ was already gone. Good day anyway.
WRP #7 Mini Final 0.393 gap to P1

Good Lord how fast are those carts?
He set a track record of just over 96 mph on hte back straights. On other tracks, shifters can hit over 100 mph.
This is not on the Isle of Man.

The keep the engine from loading up...they're 2 cycle engines and just idling causes them to over fuel .

Actually, the tire wear wasn't too bad at all...but yes, we us a MG yellow tire.

What a race. Was so nice to watch. Had a 2 stroke non shifter with my dad when i was a Teenager. Good times. Always loved the sound of the shifters. Pure racing. Congrats!!! :-) What a battle.
