Exploring Dumpling
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 11 พ.ย. 2021
Hello, and welcome!
I love dumplings, travel, and I live abroad to my country of birth, hence the name and theme of the channel. I'm an extremely amateur video maker, so please excuse the mistakes - I'm learning as I go!
At the moment, my posting schedule is every second Friday, because Life(TM) gets a mahoosive priority, and this channel is my hobby (for now! Let's see where things take me in few years' time, eh?)
The profile picture and header have been done by an amazing artist, whom you can find on www.twitch.tv/milkifaerie
Enjoy your stay!

Walk around Newhailes Estate
Didn't discover this place until very recently, actually. I have passed it on the way to Musselburgh beach, but didn't actually pay that much attention to it until one day I was at another part of the city and there was one of those brown touristy signs pointing in its direction.
The day was absolutely lush when it came to the weather, but the holidays prior meant that not many gritters were out and about, which left the roads icy. Which mean that, yes, I ended up landing primarily on my left knee - now I've got few bruises to show for it, and landing on my bum would have been better for the "shock absolbion". Oh well. It was still a lovely day to walk around that place!

London Christmas Markets🎄 - part 2
มุมมอง 7114 วันที่ผ่านมา
Life happened, storm Darragh didn't help, which is why I decided to split the visit to one city's Christmas markets into two, to give myself a bit of a breather. Am I proud of this? No, not really. Am proud that I'm not afraid to admit it, and to realise that I need to be a bit more gutsy when it comes to shooting things - not be afraid of actually getting my camera "in there" so to speak. Alth...
London Christmas Markets🎄 - part 1
มุมมอง 143หลายเดือนก่อน
Of course, I had to book my travels to London without checking the weather, didn't I? Whilst Storm Darragh was wrecking havoc across the country, I was (not so) blissfully travelling down from one capital to another, ending up soacked through within minutes, and questioning my life choices. I still ended up having a good time regardless, and whilst I haven't seen all the Christmas markets that ...
Trip to Latvia 🇱🇻 - visiting Riga and Jurmala
มุมมอง 160หลายเดือนก่อน
Of course, I had to take my customary trip to Latvia at the end of the year. I had so many plans for this visit, and whilst I have ticked off pretty much everything off my personal to do list, there was no time to do anything else. Hence why this wasn't quite the video that I had planned, but I still am glad of how it has turned out. It has been a very long while since I've last been to Riga. M...
Visiting National Museum of Scotland
มุมมอง 932 หลายเดือนก่อน
It's been a very long while since I've been to the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. In that time I managed to forget just how amazing it is, and, in my mind, exactly what a museum should be like everywhere. I haven't covered everything there is in the museum, and this is pretty much just a highlight of what can be found there. I think it's rather easy to spend 3-4 hours in there (which...
Walk along Edinburgh beaches ⛱️
มุมมอง 852 หลายเดือนก่อน
Thought I'd try something new with this video, and shoot it over a number of days. Turns out that I ended up shooting it over few months instead because Life ™️; and similarly to my video to the Cramond Island (on which I was nearly stranded because I grossly miscalculated the speed of the incoming tide), at the end of this one I also almost ended up stranded on a piece of sand that was covered...
Weekend trip to Inverness - part 2
มุมมอง 312 หลายเดือนก่อน
As it says on the tin...in the tilte...this is the second part of the weekend trip I had to Inverness. Again, the weather was a mixed bag that has improved as the day went on. Whilst the first day felt more history based as we travelled up North, this day felt more natre based as we snaked our way back down to Edinburgh. And I was happy with both, to be honest. Hope you enjoy this highlight of ...
Weekend trip to Inverness - day 1
มุมมอง 1013 หลายเดือนก่อน
It has been about 11 years since I've last been to Inverness. Back then it was June, and I was staying just outside of the city, and I don't remember much of that visit (so much for keping a record of some sort, huh). Has the city changed since then? Most likely. Has it stayed the same in some ways? Also most likely. Turns out that Inverness is one of those places that, once I've dipped my toe ...
Trip to Aberdour
มุมมอง 1403 หลายเดือนก่อน
This day wasn't really planned. I don't mean that I didn't know what I'd be visiting once I arrived, because I just can't roll up anywhere without a plan. To be honest I didn't even know that this was A Place (TM) until few days prior when I opened Google Maps and started poking around places within a short train ride from Edinburgh. The tickets were cheap, the time to get there didn't take lon...
Trip to Dunfermline
มุมมอง 854 หลายเดือนก่อน
My first time visiting Dunfermline, and this was yet another place that blew me away with its history and prettieness. Visiting the cathedral wasn't actually on the cards that day, but I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to see something this pretty and historic - if memory serves me right, there are some parts that go as far back as 1200s! Although the winding staircase was a bit of a chall...
Edinburgh's farmers' markets
มุมมอง 774 หลายเดือนก่อน
So it was about 3 weeks ago that I have been an absolute clutz, took a stumble, and twisted my ankle (well, it was a ligament popping better than a weasel, but you know). A trip to the hospital for an x-ray proved nothing was broken, but this also meant that my penguin waddle prevented me from going crazy with explorations. (This explains my slightly weird descent down the stairs in this video,...
Trip to Kirkcaldy
มุมมอง 1355 หลายเดือนก่อน
As usual, when I go to new places, I don't know what to expect from them, and I always get blown away by them in one way or another. The same was with Kirckaldy, and the wee town didn't disappoint in the slightest. It was on the train route that goes along the coast, and on a sunny day, that's always a huge pleasure to see. I think I need to take more trips north of Scotland, eh? 😉 I also didn'...
Malleny Gargen, Balerno
มุมมอง 1.1K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
This wasn't the video I planned to post this week, but life got in the way, and here we are! It was a random poking around the maps app that has led me to discover the existence of this place, and when I visited it, boy was I not disappointed! It's tiny, it's quiet, it's absolutely adorable in every way imaginable. Can you tell I found a favourite place? Anyway, I hope you enjoy this stroll thr...
June trip to Germany 🇩🇪 part 2 - Köln (Cologne)
มุมมอง 3686 หลายเดือนก่อน
I'm not going to lie, the weather that day didn't quite help with my enjoyment of Cologne. Especially since the day before and the day after had seen wonderful (albeit a bit chilly for my liking) June weather. I ended up walking in circles on few occasions (I'm going to blame my bad navigation, even with Google Maps in my hands 😉). And despite being tired (hitting 20k steps on daily basis), and...
June trip to Germany 🇩🇪 part 1 - Düsseldorf
มุมมอง 3856 หลายเดือนก่อน
This was one of those trips that I didn't quite plan. The selection process went along the lines of: "Hey, Website, what are tue cheapest return flights I can get from my local airport for these dates?" and lo and behold, the said Website has spat out the flights to Düsseldorf! Tue hotel I booked was really nice as well, and for a decent price, too - surprising, really, seeing that Germany was ...

Thank you 😊 it was a very lush trip 😊
Such a shame the weather was not what you ordered. Still lovely to see ❤🎉
It was still a good day out, despite the weather (which made the day memorable!).
@ need wipers for your camera 😂
@magpieinside7670 ahaha please!! 😂
London is beautiful in sunshine. But in its Christmas Cloak it's magical. Thank you for this! ❤
I was surprised just how much I actually enjoyed London this time! Glad you have enjoyed 😊
Great vid 👍🍂
Thank you 😊❤️
London’s Christmas is just so special in my heart 😍 I hope to visit and experience it someday. Your vlog felt like a perfect virtual travel experience for me from India. Like and support from Bangalore, India ❤
It was my first ever visit to London Christmas markets, and I absolutely loved them! I'm sure you'll enjoy them aa much as I did 😊 Thank you for support ❤️
Jurmala lovely! Nice surprise with the sea
Jurmala is a popular seaside area, and is on outskirts of Riga 🙂 Many people come here for seaside getaway!
And now I'm hungry! Lovely market
Oh and that's just the small portion of it! Good thing I came first thing in the morning, after very full breakfast, otherwise my wallet would have felt very sorry for itself 😂
Its lovely to see a place that's not been ruined with modern buildings
Totally agree! Mind you, this is mainly historic Old Riga, a bit further out does have more modern dwellings.
Where is everyone Dumpers?
I shot the video first thing in the morning and whilst that was a Saturday, I think everyone was still waking up 😅😂
Not a bad museum at all considering that Scotland is a tiny country by population with about the same population as South Carolina or Alabama. Imagine Alabama having a museum like that.
Right? I really do love the museum as well! And I'm yet to go to USA so can't comment on Carolina or Alabama lacking those kinds of museums. Always room for improvement, though!
Magical ❤
Totally agree with you! That little place is just so amazing!
💯
Ah, land of my birth! Pretty enough :D hehehe - In the building next to the station is a really nice wee cafe. I used to pop-in for a sandwich and a cuppa tea :D
It definitely is lovely! Ooh, thanks for the tip, will have to pop in when I go through there again 😉
Thank you for this very beautiful video. It seemed a more natural gate to me to play it at 0.75 speed, but then another channel"s walking tour videos I find myself speeding up 😆. But I do appreciate very much your work that went into bringing me such beauty from halfway around the world.
I usually speed up my videos during the edits but with this place being so gorgeous and tranquil, I thought it would be a shame for me to do it! I'm glad you have enjoyed this video 😊
What a beautiful place😊😊😊 i love it ❤❤❤ new friend here
Isn't it just? I absolutely love it as well 😊 Tnank you, and enjoy!!
My pleasure my friend❤❤❤see you around
The fountain at the end is beautiful! <3
Isn't it just? 🥰
Here we have a wild dumpling exploring the bush. See as they swat away the feral edges of the garden, while being courteous to others and pausing to ponder the lush green foliage. - Love the mowed in rose in one of the grass areas, that was cute. I'm totally of the mind to sit on a secluded bench with a book and loose a few hours. Such a lovely left to grow garden,
Ahahaha trust you to say that! 🤣 Aye, this is a perfect place for a wee picnic and/or relaxing time 😊
Building block of BLING BLING! So shiny!!
Ahaha I know! Loved seeing it!!
@@exploringdumpling HOW did you walk past the Lindt store twice without entering? O__o Will power of a deity!
Who said I did? 😉
@@exploringdumpling Oooh... O_O
People have loud cars there... O_o However, so beautiful. All that architecture and the statues! Wow.
Yup, cars are deafening! And agree, the architecture is absolutely stunning 😍
Thank you dumpling, I do love your walks ❤❤
Thank you, Triv, I'm glad you do ❤️
Merci pour cette balade 🙏🥰🇧🇪
You're most welcome 😊🥰
Thank you.
And thank you for watching! Hope you enjoyed it 😊
Wow That's Awesome place friend Done subs to You ❤ enjoy your day
Agree with you there - the Gardens are fantastic! Glad you have enjoyed them 😊 May thanks ❤️
A beautiful nature walk. I bet if you went back at the end of June, beginning of July it would have tons of flowers. Thank you.
I'll pop in around that time and have a photoshoot 📷 Glad you have enjoyed it 😊🥰
Very nice. Do you take requests, would love to see Aberdeen
The plan is there to do it one day, but at the moment it's not on the cards any time soon, sadly 😞
Really beautiful Dumpers - I love seeing the sea, thank you for sharing
Thank you 😊 Glad you enjoyed!!
You picked a good day to go, you're the only one there :D
Ahaha, I wish! I think I got lucky with the lack of people because I was one of the very first ones there! Everyone was still sleeping in, I think lol
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing Dumpers. Looks a fabulous place to live
Ooh I just noticed this comment! Thank you for enjoying my wee little trip here, and I agree - it's a great little place!
You have some very beautiful videos in your channel. Great video. Thanks for sharing. sub & 👍3
Thank you! 💜 Glad you're enjoying my videos 😊
Thanks for the zoo tour, I look forward to going in person, you can show us round 🥰
Looking forward to thay day! 😊
ooh ooh the crazy gibbons... 🤣
Ahahaha way to get that earworm into my brain, cheers, Triv 🤣
So pretty ❤
It was a lovely wee place 🥰
This brings back lots of memories. I spent many nights here when I worked at a Liverpool housing charity who had offices in Carlisle. Some nice pubs there, but a lot of shops have closed since i was last there, but thats the same every where now, since covid and the energy companies made it impossible for small businesses to survive.
Ooh, I wonder how mich the place has changed? So interating to hear from a person who has beeb there before! Yup, it's so sad to se small businesses go like that, isn't it? 😔
Loved the zoomy walking tour ! . 🙂
Yay! Glad you did 😊
Aw that morning start, mindful bliss <3
Them mornings were absolutely lush! Loved spending few minutes on the balcony (with a cuppa, of course 😉)
Gorgeous, hope you are having a great trip <3
Thank you, Triv 💜 Totally agree that it's a gorgeous place! But sadly I've been back to reality for a bit now 🥲
A little windy there eh ? hehehe,,, although it does look lovely. I bet that abandoned church would be pretty spooky at night. 👏👏🥰
It was just a SMIDGE windy, yes! 😂 The whole little town is amazing, I'm definitely going to visit it again at some point! I bet it is, too. Definitely not going in there late at night, though 😅 but would love to go there again and try NOT to he spooked by pigeons again 🤣🤣
Every time I see zooming people I expect Yakety Sax to start playing :p
Ahahahahahaha NOW you have given me idea! 🤣 thank you, Triv! ❤️
Keep inspired, always good to see different perspectives
Thank you 💜 glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Dumpling <3
And thank you, too ❤️ Hope you've enjoyed it! 😊
Thanks for showing the beauty of Edinburgh 😍 I love Christmas markets!
So glad you've enjoyed it! I absolutely love Christmas markets myself 🥰
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing the trip. We live in such an amazing world where there are still many beautiful places left ❤
Glad you've enjoyed! And I couldn't agree more with you ☺️
A lovely walk, thanks Dumpling <3
Glad you enjoyed it! 💜

Seeing those chocolate made me jealous
I've had those chocolates before, and they are lush!
Yes, exactly. Do you reach it just by coming off the bridge? Did you have to go down a ramp or staircase? Do you recall if it was part of Nori Miller Park?
I crossed the bridge, and it was pretty much almost there. From way I recall, there was no staircase, so it was just a sloping ground. I think it was part of Nori Miler Park, or was super close to it.
Doesn't it have some lovely places? Am trying to figure out your precise location when you were very close to (and on the same level as) the water, before you went up the ramp?
Definitely does, I agree with you 😊 Do you mean the bit by the water just after the trip along the bridge? It's like a wee Riverside bit, not exactly sure of its name 😔
Ps. How did you resist roly polying down that green slope? 😂
Excellent question! I think it was the idea of needing to get back up that stopped me - not sure I'd be in any shape to do *that* feat 🤣🤣
Lovely hearing all the bird song ❤
It was! Lush to have had the wildlife so close by 💜
Hey at least there was a shopping centre 🎉😂👏🏻
That's very true! Got to be dry for few minutes 😅🤣
