Making this comment after the candy game and India/USA as comments are paused on that thread. Bowlers looked decent “ish” again but the batting was so questionable. As you both mentioned strange shot selection and really had no excuse not to try and chase the target in 14 overs. Being cynical, why did India put the US into bat. Yes the pitch favours the bowlers but they could’ve set a big score 160+ and then bowled out the US for 100 or similarly chase down their target today in 10/12 overs. I wander if they thought let the US bat first then chase it down slowly knowing the result was never in doubt to keep the US with a better run rate? Just putting it out there

Firstly, always back the pak but it’s time for change. This team has been around for the last 3/4 world cups and look where we are. Even last T20 WC we luckily made it to the semi finals. The PCB is controlled by the government which is only interested in money not performances. The whole team needs rebuilding. I would have a 3 year plan going forward, bring in the youngsters. Babar, Rizwan, Shadab, Iftikhar, Imad. Amir, Fakhar all need to go. Build a new team around youngsters, give them time .

Great, honest view. As an absolute all round cricket fan with a slight bias towards England and SA this is sad to see. Pakistan have been well below par for a few years and it’s sad to see. Even when form is not on their side they’ve always had heart and character in the big games. Without inside knowledge it’s hard to point the finger but there’s something seriously wrong here. Best bowling performance I’ve seen from the green machine for a while ( bar 4 overs in the middle when pant went silly) feel really sorry for the bowlers after this as the batsman were shocking. The top 5/6 teams will bat as low as number 8. With Pakistan you know once the first 4 wickets have fallen the next 6 will be lucky to add 50 runs. The batters all look like individuals and seem to play for their own gain. Against USA Canada got to nearly 200 yet Pakistan struggled to 160. I don’t see what value usman khan and ifthikar add to this team. Again not sure who’s decisions these are around selection but regardless the shot selection is awful and realistically everytime Pakistan lose 10 wickets 7 of them are absolute gifts. As you boys have said this isn’t an attack on anyones ability it’s cricketing IQ, yes the pitch was iffy but at a run rate of 6 straight bat, sensible shots and you know you can afford to dot a few balls. If they were chasing 180/200 there’s an argument to say play your shots but this was just mindless/village batting. Hope they turn things around soon the world needs a strong Pakistan team

Great verdict brothers. Very sad days for Pakistan cricket. We needed run a ball, it was brainless cricket. It was a mental block. Imad had side strain and they sent him up the order. Poor captaincy, poor decisions, poor management. Who are making these decisions during matches. Rizwan just had to stay until the end and play with a straight bat but his wicket just changed the game, Fakhar a pathetic ugly shot to get out same with babar giving catching practice, pathetic. Ifthikar agree a waste of space. He hasn’t go no role to play as a batsman, he played all three formats most experienced coming at 7, you just rather not play him. Shadab was useless in this game
