MAD is fucking awesome and it absolutely needs to be talked about more
The story reminds me of mushishi
Hadn't even considered that.
Come from finding your insta my man - now I’ve got another channel to binge 😊 awesome vid man
That's awesome to hear! Thank you for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the share as well!
@@eclecticcollector88 happy to support another creator, especially when I like their content 😊😊
Everybody wake up, new eclectic collector video just dropped
Thanks for watching, dude!
@@eclecticcollector88 Ofc man, thank you for posting
Sekisei Inku sounds pretty good. I don’t have manga in Spanish yet. So it sounds like a good way to read Manga in Spanish. Great video
Thank you for watching! It's totally worth it. I have probably 40 volumes of manga in Spanish. So much stuff doesn't make it into English that is available in Spanish.
Haven't heard of any of these series, but they all sound interesting. Thanks for the recommendations!
Of course! Thank you for watching!
ngl when i just hear your voice you actually sound like moistcr1tikal.
Haha damn. I've been compared to him before in appearance as well.
Drunk Bullet sounds pretty cool love stories tied to a unique time period in history. Also, I love Golden Kamuy! Thanks for putting this video together, man - great work!
It's definitely a lot of nonsensical fun. It does also put its time period to use and it isn't just the 20s because. Golden Kamuy is so solid! Thank you for the kind words and for watching!
1:45 Astro Royale 14:51 Drunk Bullet 25:01 MAD
awesome video, man! Someone else just recommended this manga to me, so I guess I'm definitely going to have to try it out!
Totally worth it! Definitely one of the more original stories I've picked up recently.
Fuan no tane is one of my favorites! Genuinely creepy artwork with bite-sized short stories. Can't beat that :)
Hell yeah. Wish it would get the English treatment. We have PTSD Radio from that dude. Would be nice to get this one as well. Started reading one called Gannibal that is just as insane.
After god is pretty dope with some cool ideas/concepts and gorgeous artwork. I started reading not too long ago. One series I think everyone should pick up with the same kind of taste is Sensou Kyoushitsu or 'The Bugle Call', this peak fiction has some of the coolest cinematic paneling (which kind of reminds me of the dc comic Planetary lol) with great character development I’ve came across in a while when it comes to a medieval dark fantasy setting. I swear it feels like it’s at least one cool thing that’s happened every chapter lol. Centuria is another good somewhat similar recommendation setting wise, just waiting for the story to really find its footing. Sensou Kyoushitsu is really top tier though, that no one talks enough about lol. Also, imma HUGE of The Climber so Midnight Children is DEFINITELY on my list. Thanks!
That sounds awesome. Going to have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
*sigh* you've done it again dude! Adding it to my list 🤣🤣 This sounds amazing!
Haha hell yeah, that's awesome! Had a lot of fun with this one. Hope you enjoy it whenever you get to it! 🙌
thank you for the rec i will def be reading it!!! and have you also seen the Uzumaki release date too??
That's awesome to hear! Hope you enjoy it! I have not, but I am excited for the anime. I love the manga.
Been wanting to get back into reading manga again and this looks really promising! Thanks for the recommendation man!
That's awesome to hear! Definitely glad I could be of service! 🙏🙏
"this reminded me of" is my favorite part of every video, mate. Did you read the Southern Reach Trilogy, by Vandermeer? Just asking because you've mentioned the Netflix movie, and the books are a lot of fun! Well, I'll try Fool Night, you made it look very interesting!
Haha thank you! That's definitely become a staple of the channel. I have not, but I do want to. Might have to push them up on my TBR or listen to the audio books. I hope that you enjoy it, if you end up checking it out!
@@eclecticcollector88 For sure push the Southern Reach Trilogy up your TBR list- it's SO up your alley
Great stuff man! I’ve been wanting to try this manga since it’s release. Now, I’m more excited than ever to read it!
That's awesome, dude! Glad I could be of service. Totally worth checking out.
@@eclecticcollector88 the other recommendation I got from you was Heavenly Delusion. I got six volumes now, and that’s a pretty awesome manga as well! Thanks dude! I look forward to your next video!!
Thx for the rec hehehehe
No problem at all! Hope you enjoy it!
this is why I am here some good manga recommendation, because the dark age is coming when one piece ends and all the brain rot anime that is there is making my brain numb.
Can't go wrong with this one. MAD on the manga plus app is also pretty solid if you want more out of the ordinary manga to check out.
@@eclecticcollector88 ok the first chapter the sister part was good I didn't expect that.
I love watching these while doing things like cleaning
I had my eyes on The Summer Hikaru Died for a while now and finally decided to give it a try when I saw it was nominated for 2 Eisner Awards... LOVED it, and now I can't wait for the anime :)
That's awesome. I want to read it soon. I am going to talk about it on some manner or another for a video. The artwork is gorgeous. Especially the creature art.
👍🏽❤️
When an underated channel talks about an underated manga
Totally correct! Shiro Moriya in general deserves more love. Astro Baby is also solid!
Yep, you are definitely keeping up with the 'feeling happy and so well' readings with Boy's Abyss, that's the perfect way to await the new Asano's series, right? lol. Those who does not love to feel like shit every now and then doesn't know what means to be a Minnesota Vikings fan, I'll tell you. You got me hooked on Heart Gear, just started to collect the manga, so thank you for another good tip. And yeah, Kaguya-Sama is complete, and in my opinion is the best shoujo ever, hands down. Not a shoujo expert by any means though, so proceed by your own risk lol. Well, don't bother with the long videos mate, that's great to hear you talking about a lot of different things, it's way better than just see someone just showing random manga volume covers for the sake of showing it. Keep the good work, it's beeing awesome!
Haha definitely excited for Mujina. That's awesome to know. Heart Gear is such a solid series. I watched the anime for Kaguya-Sama and loved it. May have to eventually read the manga. Thanks for watching and showing support! That is something I've wanted to keep consistent, talking about everything. And not just showing covers and not saying anything about them. Unfortunately that leads to massive videos.
If you read nana u should also read ai yazawas other manga called paradise kiss it’s a romantic one but it’s also about a fashion business pretty good
Sounds good. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the heads up!
Another banger brother, appreciate you and your videos 🤘💯
Thank you for watching! 🤘🤘
Snow Ball Earth looks neato. Also you have an uncanny resemblance to Aesop Rock. Wild as hell, genuinely.
Haha that's a new one. Haven't heard that name in years. I've also been called 40-year-old Penguin0 and Santana.
Man, when I saw your glowing recommendation on Heart Gear a while back, I was sold on the pitch and picked up the volumes, and I was instantly hooked. Had a delay in shipping for volumes 3, and when both 3 and 4 came, I was overjoyed to pick it up again. Then looking at the news that the manga ending at volume 7 right after reading felt like a car crash.. Granted, the mangaka took an extended break after Valhalla, but I feel like hearing that the journey is almost over in a few volumes, just... SUCKS! The worldbuilding is capital A-mazing, and I saw it would span at least 10+ volumes, but... Now I am slouched to know that the end is near.. As sad as it is to know this, I cope with the fact that the length may have a good enough send-off, and will continue reading physical to find out where it goes. Going along with this being a journey spanning a few volumes, I would recc you, EC, to check out "Tsugumi Project" if you haven't. Same length, same narrative structure with a different story beat and goal, and a post-apocalypse setting.
That's awesome to hear. Definitely still giving Heart Gear. The artwork and story has become incredible. One that is similar that I've also been really enjoying is Origin.
Complain about The Fable 2. I still haven't gotten mine from that company either. I got a $15 code & they said they plan to get it on the 23rd of this month. Does suck to see it in stores physically & I can't get it because this company said I can't cancel my order.
I canceled my pre order and just got it elsewhere. Don't think I'll be doing anymore business there. Paying more is gonna suck, but I don't feel like waiting a month plus for a volume of manga that's been available that long.
Maaaan.. Succubus & Hitman is a guilty pleasure of mine. Like I KNOW it's bad, but I like it. Like John Waters movies.
That is the best description of Boy's Abyss; made me cackle. I make the same face / same unsure laughter when describing it to people 😅
Haha! That series is wild. You have to know who to recommend it to. Someone that won't look at you sideways from now on for recommending them absolute chaos.
Thank you so much for the shout out dude! Very excited to see what you think of King In Limbo and The Summer Hikaru Died! Can't wait to see that Junji Ito video!
Definitely! I picked those up because of your videos, so it made sense to give you a shout out. Glad you're cool with me using your footage. 🙏🙏 I'm going to be doing something for the channel with the Summer Hikaru Died if I can get to it before the end of the summer.
@@eclecticcollector88 absolutely! Ahhh excited to see, I really hope you enjoy!
What manga/books/comics have you picked up recently?
Picked up the whole of "Drifting Classroom" 60% off. Went on a spree recently, so it's been an exhausting list. Key highlights being "Heaven's Door" (Keiichi Koike), "Boat Life" (Tadao Tsuge), and "Witches" (Daisuke Igarashi).
@@JakeTvisterOfficial I have those except Boat Life. You have some damn good manga right there.
Finally got vol 11 of Berserk Deluxe - the only one I was missing, got some random One Piece 3in1s found on sale, also vol 4 and 5 of Hour of the Zombie from an online second hand store (no clue where to find the rest, lol)... as for comics, Before Watchmen: Minutemen/Silk Spectre, Preacher vol 5 and Eternals. Oh, also 2 volumes from the only manga publisher in Romania, 'cos I wanna support them, hoping they'll translate more series.
Shigeru Mizuki's Onward Towards Our Noble Deaths. I love how Mizuki uses manga as a medium for historical non-fiction. It's particularly impactful knowing his work is written from personal experience.
HIGHLY reccomend Liar Game, Tomodachi Game, and Usogui- You will LOVE them
Thank you for the recommendations! Usogui has been on my radar for the longest time!
thanks man, great review. I work for a publishing house and I had to decide whether to license this in Spanish or not and it helped me a lot.
That's awesome to hear! Where is the publishing house based out of, if you don't mind me asking?
Hard!
Thanks dude!
Man…. I hope this gets an English release some day. Green blood as well
Same here! Would be cool to see more of his works get a translation. We got Yomotsuhegui, so there is hope!
@@eclecticcollector88 yes I did pick that up
I've read the first four volumes of Deadman Wonderland and I've been really enjoying it! I need to continue. I haven't read Doubt but I've read the first volume of Dead Company and I'm planning on picking up the other two vols this month. It was pretty good and very fast paced, maybe too fast paced? I'll see after the rest and see if it ends up feeling a bit rushed. I've been trying to decide if I want to try High-Rise Invasion. I started watching the anime but I think I stopped a couple of episodes before the end for some reason. I really enjoyed the premise though so I'm tempted to give the manga a go. It's been in and out of my basket so many times lol! Alice in Borderland is one of my favourite things, even though I'm not that far into it. It's just such a great series! I own it all now, so no excuses!!
Hell yeah! I love Deadman Wonderland. One of the best series's I've watched/read the manga for. Don't know if I'll pick up more of Tonogai's work. Doubt has been kind of a letdown. Hopefully Dead Company is all around a better read! High-Rise Invasion is a lot of fun and the premise is definitely what sold me. Loving Alice in Borderland as well. Haha. I wanna read the rest of it to see what happens next.
Deadman Wonderland is definitely one of my favorites of all time! I hope to see a reboot one day as theres still a lot of things they could cover💯
Agreed! That would be awesome!
Another awesome vid my bro 🤘💯 watched the Alice in borderland series but the manga definitely looks a lot better tbh
I think reading the manga and then trying to watch the show made me not enjoy it as much. I kept expecting it to follow the exact trajectory of the manga. May have to check out the anime.
Great video, as always! Haven't read any of these yet, but Alice in Borderland is on my TBR list - probably just jumped up a few places thanks to you 😉
That's great to hear! It's a pretty solid read. I can definitely see now why it has such high praise.
Woohoo over an hour to listen to!! Alice in borderland was one of the most gripping series in general I’ve read and the best death game series I’ve read so far. Only read the first omnibus of Kaiji but I’ve enjoyed it so far. I thought Doubt was ok but didn’t like the ending, and I dropped deadman wonderland at vol 8 and dropped high rise invasion at whatever volume chapter 96 is. Just didn’t enjoy them enough to keep going
That's fair. Doubt I'm trying to still give a chance. I have no real hopes for it though. Feels like it could have just been a single volume. The others I'm enjoying so far.
I am a sucker for the Death game/Dark isekai genre. And Alice in Borderland is TOP on my list for sure. Glad you like it so far, Banger series 👌
Totally agreed! Can't wait to start volume 2!
