Miata Paint Correction
#Miata #Paintcorrection #Meguiars
Sota helped us out with paint correction on Tia. So shocked on how much of a difference it made on the 24 year old paint. Like night and day so definitely worth the time and effort.

I went with the Rspeed version this time due to the fact that it came with two hood dampers instead of one included with the Cobalt kit. Miata Sunday Drive / Door Bushings and Mirrors Update
Man.. you have no idea what you did to me.. I have opened and closed the engine 9 times cuz i did my timing thinking i did something wrong because i didn’t touch anything else my car kept miss firing and having a lot of trouble.. i have been more than 2 weeks working on it. Today I gave up and finally decided to take it to a mechanic because i was done with bullish as soon as you mentioned coilpack order I was like WHAT!!!! How didn’t I pay attention to that 😳 and i straight went to my car put everything on my engine back. put the right coilpack order 4,1,2,3 and the car worked better than factory 😳 god damit man you saved me 2 or 3k from these mechanics replacing things that shouldn’t be replaced.. thankyou soo much for posting that video 🫶
Want to remove mine?
Got a good kid there
PS I'm retired now and so is my Japanese girlfriend, well that's what the wife calls her.
I have one in Oregon that was my daily driver for 10 plus years. I was very lucky I had a covered area at work and garaged at home. It was a 30 minute vacation morning and night, so sweet!!
I know it's been a couple of years but do you still have the alpine car alarm if so are you willing to sell it?
Do you still have this car? Extremely clean, and that mileage is crazy. How much did you pay for it? Also props to you for buying it before 2020 lol. I have the same car, also located in PA, got it at 129k and just hit 135k miles. I probably overpaid just a tad for mine but considering the prior maintenance and upgrades, I would say it wasn't too unjustified. Cosmetically it's far from perfect, and I have had to put some money into it but it has been a great car with no considerably major issues. I started making videos with it recently as I have been trying to make the most out of my ownership, and I plan to make many more. Hoping to own and drive the car for as long as possible. If you still have this car you should make another video with it, maybe give an update
Yup, still have it but have not done much to it since coilovers. Just been driving to local meets and cruises. I paid 5200 back in 2017 and yes def lucky since would have to pay double now! Great that you have the same car as well and plan on making more videos in near future if I can get out of this funk, mentally.
Awesome 😎
Where are the mask on the wall from? They look Guatemalan
The big one in the middle along with the three on the left side if facing are all from Indonesia where I was born. The one on top and bottom in the middle are from Japan. The two on the right are from China and the last all the way to right is from Mexico.
The young lad is a very handy cameraman ! Thank you for this video! I called my Miata Trunk "Audrey II " because it was trying to eat me all the time. I was referencing your video as I was doing this to my car. One thing I notice is that my trunk lid no longer opens as wide. I'm not sure if that will be a problem or not. One final note: that 'hook' thing doesn't get removed. At least I couldn't figure out how to remove it. So, I wrapped it in duct tape (handyman's secret weapon) so that it shouldn't rattle. (Audrey II is a reference to Little Shop of Horrors BTW) . Thanks again.
Thanks appreciate feedback. And yes, I did notice the trunk does not open as wide but no issue for me. And I knew right away when you mentioned Audrey, lol. Loved both versions of that movie!
@@bazehed1 Thank you for responding. I went back and drilled the hole a bit closer to the 'front' of the car. It now opens much wider . I only re-drilled it about 5/8 of an inch from the first hole. and I'm very happy with it now.
The reason there is a separate switch for the pop up headlights is so you can have them up in the event of snow or ice they wouldn't be frozen shut.
Makes sense and thanks for sharing info. There's no way I would let snow or ice touch my baby, 😂!
What an annoying video
I've the Alpine SEC-8063 model system in my 2000 Miata. After going through your video a few times, I'm uncomfortable to start clipping off wires. Plus, I couldn't locate a Valet switch anywhere. So I'm planning to simply unplug the four connectors and the power input from the main module and seeing what happens. I'll report back!
So how did you make out?
@@bazehed1 to be brief, it worked out perfectly. Details: After disconnecting all the electrical plugs from the main module, I did a test start. It started up right away. Wanting to also remove the display module from where it had been double-taped to the console near the gear shifter, I removed the necessary screws from the console cover plate (or whatever it's called) and lifted the plate high enough to work that module's wiring plug out from under the dash and out through the plate. I reattached the plate's screws. To finish off the job, I taped the flat sections of all the electrical plugs to keep them from shorting out, then taped them and their associated wires together into a tight bundle and tapen the bundle against the steering column. Then, just in case some future owner would be interested in reconnecting everything, I placed the main module, the display module and owner's manual into a ziploc bag and saved it away. I hadn't seen any need to do anything with the plugs other than simply tape them closed. Much easier than tracing each of them down and cutting them our, which would entail taking the risk that I'd run into an electrical problem somewhere down the road. And besides, as I've stated above, this gives me the option of selling it to some future owner.
Did it end up fixing your problem? I’m currently thinking about getting rid of mine
Yes, but remember the draw coming from your car might be different from mine. Good luck and should take it out either way...Weight savings, 😆
@@bazehed1 got it done yesterday 👍🏽
Brooo that was nice!!! Good teacher and I’m learning 👀👀
One of the cleanest builds ever!
I need to do this to my M-Edition! Wow what a difference, looks really clean. Thanks for the video.
Yes, definitely worth the time and effort. Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching! Been slacking but more videos to come, take care.
Very helpful. What’s up with the nails ?
first thing i thought aswell lol
Sorry...thought u said water.lol
Your top drains are clogged
What part of pa do you live in?
Southeast PA
@@bazehed1 oh sick I’m south east too and just bought project car
@@Stretches_R6 Nice, small world! What did you end up getting?
What the f.... with those nasty nails
I've had one of these for five years. Best car I ever owned and it's worth four times as much as I payed for it with twice the mileage it had when I bought it.
I have the same exact car (97 M-Edition). The paint's really rough and part was amateur repaint. This will help.
Good
im bout to get one low miles for 9k in the same exact color
Nice, Congrats! Welcome to the family 🙂!
could you please let me know about the view on rear view mirror? is it all blinded out?
I can still see from my rearview mirror so not really an issue. I think would be worst with some of the rollbars out there especially with the x-bracing. And I feel the car is more visible to other drivers with the briefcase on.
photos.app.goo.gl/b3mzrJdCZsdMyNij8
Impressive, very nice.
Excellent car, well done. I hope you don't plan on driving it in the winter, these first and second gen cars need to be preserved from road salt
No winter driving here and not my daily driver. I try not to even drive her in the rain since she's not the most water tight, 😆! Always garaged kept as well. Thanks for the comment and for stopping by to watch!
nice car man but what the fuck are you doing showing ur license plate
Is this really a thing?
CLEAN!
Are you still looking for M edition mats?
Yes, but the ones I'm finding are in worst shape than mine and even missing the square plush piece for the driver side.
Thanks for subscribing BTW!!!
@@bazehed1 I recently bought a 97 m edition and I have a 2nd set of mats if your interested. How can we exchange contact info? I can send you pics and you can let me know if you're interested.
Is that a miata😤
Yup, 97 M-Edition. Last year of the Pop-up headlights.
@@bazehed1 Great car. I have a 91 and I love it to death. Got some issues though, but that's to be expected from a 30 year old car!
Congrats!!! I am an original OG for your channel. Let’s keep growing!!!
To another 100!
Congrats!!!
i wish i can afford miata
Yeah, prices has definitely gone up since a few years back. Just have to constantly look and have cash at hand. Should join Miata groups on FB too if not already. Good luck!
Mazda mx5. The best sports car I ever had, Ireland
FB RX7's are 2 rotors. Mazda never made a car with a single rotor.
Now I know, thanks!
Interesting that I come across this video at this particular moment in time, because I JUST purchased a minty-mint 1997 M-edition Miata myself! I LOVE the distinctive Marina Green (BRG) color. Had a black/tan 1994 for 11 years when I lived in CA, and I do love these cars.
Congrats and welcome back to the family!
I just bought one myself
I had the s-80 on display lol this was awesome show
Yeah, Carlisle never disappoints. Only thing I hate about doing these types of videos is leaving cars out or it would be an hour long one, 😆! Hope to see you in the next one, take care.
How the hell did you get them to display that S80
@@torreyleepgh idk maybe they liked it she does need some work to look perfect but as you can see it's a 18 year old car it's going to show it's age and the dents were not in the car when I sent them the pictures someone was on my property and damaged both of my vehicles so I was pretty pissed me self and I never figured out who it was to go to court this and that so I have to fork out my own money for body work and to get it repainted then it will be a perfect car once again so to answer your question that's how it got into the building
@@torreyleepgh and I do notice alot of people talking shit about my car right In front of me I just didn't say anything tbh cuz I really don't give a shit it's mine it makes me happy and that's all being a car enthusias is about
Get a damn tripod... the kid was al over the place recording and the little interjections about the cat and your pants were just not needed. And dude, cut your nails. You're a man not a woman.
Love the mixture of imports, Euro and JDM, muscle, and trucks. The Fiero, Iron Duke was the four banger Pontiac engine, the GT (and Formula) came with the plebeian 2.8 V6 without the aluminum heads. The first gen Lightning, 351W, the second gen was the one S/C 5.4 DOHC V8. Also the Alfa, Quadrofiglio is the steroided Giulia. I can’t wait to see cars this season here in GB.
Great wholesome video. I’m the owner of the vr6 swapped mk2 golf.
I had a ‘91 GTi 8 valve with a Corrado VR6 swapped - koni yellows/Eibach springs. Brakes, exhaust, intake, no back seat, racing seats/harness...rode so rough...LOL!
MkII GTI. Great shot on most of the cars!!
Water is going in from your tai light gasket replace it or use rev around it to stop the leaks
Thanks, I'll replace those. Took out carpeting for now so it doesn't keep getting wet.
53k m edition? thats amazing, all the ones i could find were beat to shit
Pretty much have to search everyday, willing to travel and have cash on hand. Good luck!
Wow :D
I got 1994 edi wonder how much I should sale it
Don't sell you'll regret it.
You do realize that the surprise you're going for when not showing it and whatever at first is ruined by the thumbnail and name of the video lol nice car tho
