Club Fitting and Sole Design
มุมมอง 2.6Kปีที่แล้ว
Dynamic testing to determine the amount of bounce you should have to promote consistent launch, spin, and carry distance.
The struggle is real. I swing my 7-iron 78-80 mph. I hit my 4-iron well 8 out of 10 times. I hit my hybrid better (i.e., longer and higher), but only hit it well 4 out of 10 times. So, I score better with a club that is perhaps not the best suited for me. Am I playing the wrong hybrid (or wrong hybrid set up) or do I just need a hybrid lesson?
Fantastic video. So many questions. 1. Does the order you test the variables seem to matter? (E.g., can you test lie angle first or does it need to go fourth?) 2. When you are fitting for lie angle, is this correlated more with the players height or swing style? 3. Which variable seems to make the most difference? if you could only change one variable, which would be most impactful? (E.g., lie angle or choice of shaft (flex/weight)?)
So you need a launch monitor of your own for the fit?
I find this approach extremely compelling. First read about it on the golfwrx forum and now I am researching it furiously!
Best fitting ive ever seen
I swing a 7 iron at 90 mph and just dropped my 4 iron and replaced it with a 5 hybrid and love it!
Love the content! What are some OEM irons you’d say have a mid bounce? I’m guessing Srixons have high bounce and Mizunos have low bounce.
AWESOME PODCAST !! Grass league is like Foreward Golf “innovating the golf industry “ I’m signing up for next year Grass League!! 🔥🔥🐯🪧
So dope.
I just wanna shoot lower
I'm using the Zen large on a 4 flat head. Taking the left out baby. ❤
I'm a fitter from Australia. This has to be by far the best and most thorough system I've seen. Wonderful work lads.
Loving the content! I need a "Tiger Strike" counter on the bottom right of the screen hahaha
Do you know what ended up being George’s prescription? Very curious if there was any surprises in shaft or something random
If I have a hole playing downwind typically I'm hitting driver far enough to give me a wedge in. And if I don't, is it not okay for me to accept something that pitches just on and ends up back of the green with a lag putt? I don't expect to launch a mid iron to a front pin. When we try to alter trajectory to that degree (with the exception of flighting a shot lower) do we not also increase our dispersion pattern? I just dont see why we need to attack a pin in every condition. I'm okay with 30ft and making par. If it's windy to that extent nobody else should be scoring super well either. That's how I interpret it though at an "Elite AM" level atleast. Open for debate on that though. Maybe it's just dependent on the individual and what someone's strengths are.
Golf is an interesting game. Often times our pride, ego, and desire for a particular aesthetic come at the detriment of our games. Then we complain about how we can get over the hump. This video has helped me come to the realization that it’s time to give up my 5 iron. The hybrid is on its way. I’m edging closer and closer to every club in my bag having a head cover on it lol. Here’s to lower scores!
Face is 70%~75% of Launch Direction whilst Path is 25%. Spin Axis is neutral if Face-to-Path relationship is more like 3-to-1 instead of 2-to-1.
Incredible education. We’re truly standing on the shoulders of giants with George and Chad. The UCSB Golf Club is fully tapped into what these guys are doing. The great awakening knows no bounds, and people are realizing where great golf truly lives.
Appreciate your support brotha!
@@ForewardGolf we appreciate you. Keep doing the good work.
Love this podcast! So informative!
Great episode. People need to hear this 💯
Great podcast G’s! Sidenote, I never thought the mustache trend would last this long. And the shorts men wear today, country clubs wouldn’t even let women wear them that short back in the day.
Thank you! We will rock a Stache but no booty shorts
Great pod! I really need to get a remote fitting and get these irons!
appreciate it 👊🏽 we are ready when you are!
Needs more views
Tell em!
new sub
Thank you! 🙏🏽
I guess I missed it but what were the forgiving clubs Gankas mentioned he received? Custom Foreward clubs?
Yep! George got fit and is gaming our irons.
Yes. Great pod.
Thank you 🙏🏽
I can’t wait for my set to come in!! Cool episode
We are looking forward to it 🐯🪧
Would love a Tiger Strike video section!!
Working on it!
Great episode G!
Yeahhh G
Hilarious mention of the triple zero unicorn on a Foweward podcast. While doing my remote fitting, the guy in the bay next to me hit one of those and him and the worker/his swing coach were going crazy lol. I asked if I could snap a pic before I left 😂
Dope
Following Foreward Golf since 2023 feels like investing in Apple back in 1980. These guys are going to change the game forever. One day, I’ll get my script.
Would love to hear some more long form versions of these where you got more into the weeds but saying that loving it. Thanks (When are you coming to the UK?)
Siiiick
Good stuff fellas!! #golfnerds
Thanks for this smart and informative video! Having previously worked as a rep and fitter for a major OEM, I was and am opposed to making and selling “standard” off the rack sets. But, you already know how a majority of golfers purchase their equipment. I’d like to see more consumer product education and industry buy-in regarding the importance of fitting. I always tell people it’s like blindly buying a pair of shoes and hoping they fit.
I use em, fixes my hand pain
I used 2 down from the biggest JumboMax and couldn’t find the face of any club for about 4 rounds. Cut em off immediately following
I don't need to play a 7 hybrid but I DO play a 7 hybrid because it's making golf so much more fun for me. I can carry my 7 iron 160 yards but the hybrid is better out of the 1st cut fairway rough, it's more reassuring on a par 3 tee shot and overall it just takes stress off the game. I carry my 8 iron a 150 yards (and it sticks the green), so that's all I need from a strokes gained perspective
Great content! Love jumbo max, only downside I found to the foreward golf fitting was having to test these variables with a standard size grip, feel like I could’ve gotten an even better prescription if I tested each variable with the grip size I’d been used to!
Badass
Wow Chad, great content! You guys at forward and companys like Jumbomax grips, are really changing the way our best golf can be played.
Had a long chat with John the other day about becoming a fitter for JumboMax. Everyone I get to try them loves it after they get a few swings in.
very excited to hear your thoughts on things in the future. i think foreward will be to golf as driveline has become to baseball.
So good! John knows what’s up!!
Pumped for these. Got my foreward irons a month ago and love them. These guys are on the come up and asking questions others are not.
This is such good content. Thanks guys. I hope someday there is a local fitter in the Minneapolis area for both Forward golf and JumboMax grips.
We have a remote fitting kit we can send right to your door !
Let’s go. First one here.
Appreciate it!
That’s very intriguing and I’m interested. How much are we looking ?
