Thanks for playing this classic Novello's tune. Now I'm longing to go for a long weekend in a large manor house in the country, #GosfordPark

Someday my heart will awake Someday the morning will break Music will open my eyes Showing the skies golden with rapture May be this gentle refrain Someday day will echo again Bringing my lover's caress Making my heart say "Yes" Lazy heart, lazy heart The leaves of summer fall and die But stay adrift along the stream Not even troubled by a dream The birds are mating But while you're waiting Time slips by Someday my heart will awake Someday the morning will break Music will open my eyes Showing the skies golden with rapture May be this gentle refrain Someday day will echo again Bringing my lover's caress Making my heart say "Yes"

A beautiful rendition of a beautiful piece of music. I can play the first part (just about). You make it look so effortless. The piano has a lovely tone too - what is it? Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks so much for writing. It's a Yamaha Clavinova. Can't remember the exact model, but it plays really nicely.

One of my - if not my favourite of Novello Songs - BRILLIANTLY sung at the time by the wonderful Dunstan Hart of whom we hear nothing... Just wish he'd done more Recordings - his voice was WONDERFUL! Thanks for this lovely Piano version!

just want to say thank you for this - we are planning my grandfathers funeral, and he loved this song, especially when his late wife sung it. you play it as beautifully as my dad used to, every sunday of my childhood, and this transports me right back to when they were both alive and we would be having afternoon tea. the magic of music. thank you so much for sharing this

Thank you Ben that was lovely! I'm learning some Ivor Novello songs at the moment. His music always seems so old fashioned and the words often sentimental even for the time he composed it, but even now it's so appealing!

The lark is singing on high The Sun's ashine in the blue The Winter is driven away And Spring is returning anew Who cares what sorrow may bring What storms may tear us apart No sadness can kill the wonder and thrill Of that waltz in my heart Waltz of my heart haunting and gay Calling enthrallingly, waltzing away Ring out your bells for me, ivory keys Weave out your spell for me, orchestra please Chorus of wings, thrilling the sky While you're inspiring me, time hurries by Joy finds a fire in me, soon as you start Sweeping your strings, waltz of my heart The lark is singing on high The Sun's ashine in the blue The Winter is driven away And Spring is returning anew Who cares what sorrow may bring What storms may tear us apart No sadness can kill the wonder and thrill Of that waltz in my heart
