Hunting Mushrooms and Slugs in the Rain
As I explored the forest with my German Shepherd in southwest Washington (the Pacific Northwest, PNW) I found many species of mushrooms (fungi) and a slug and a snail. Mushroom and slug hunting is a fun rainy day activity.

Is there dangerous animals around Astoria? Bears, snakes and so on?
Thank you so much for the video!!! We are planning to go there at the end of April from Canada. This is a trail in my list. Do you think the weather will be nice for hiking?
It's Spring so the weather varies day to day. It was sunny and 75 when I hiked the trail on 4/2. Today is rainy and 50 degrees. Hopefully this overcast and rainy weather will be gone by the end of April. My suggestion is to start the trail right when the park opens, because it is really busy by noon.
