Iron should be set to 370° Fahrenheit for heat setting. Do not use steam. If you want to iron on patched to stay on forever on the denim, crosstitch it in so the patches stay on forever.
Stupid question but, will the “iron on” patches actually stay on when only ironed? Or should I also sew them? 🤷♂️
not stupid at all! in my experience, most stay on when you iron them. however, i've had two that the edges started lifting slowly over the period of 3-4 months so i had someone sew them at the tailor shop. i guess it depends on the quality of the patch if it will truly be enough to just iron.

Quick question, my friend just gifted me a cool varsity jacket would this method work for it aswell? Or ow it a whole different method? The sleeves arent leather just the regular varsity jacket sleeves
Mhm, I don't want to say it would be the same method because I'm not sure. I just googled 'what are varsity jackets made of' and most said leather or wool. maybe you can take it to a dry cleaning spot and find out the exact material of the sleeves and see if it'll be safe to use this method

After the iron on patches or permanent sewed 🧵 on, do I need to do the laundry 🧺 machine on cold 🥶 water 💦 gentle cycle 🔃 and dryer machine with low heat or hang dry?
sorry for the delayed response - i recommend taking it into the cleaners as i get nervous about things like this. but machine wash cold, gentle cycle and a combination of low heat should be perfectly fine. i would just place the jacket in a mesh bag so it doesn't rub against other clothes in the washer.
So washing only this jacket in washer with low heat like 20 degrees should be best option?

Feels perfect now that the days are colder! I've worn it a couple times now with my PAC-MAN and Star Fox patches at a local arcade and the staff there gave me compliments. :) @@Fraughtful
Why can't we place the iron directly on the patch
It'll burn the patch! You have to protect it by putting a sheet over it. Can be a simple bed pillow sheet.
How is it that you wash your denim jacket?
I have the same question too
To be honest I haven't washed the denim jacket - mainly because I don't wear it for very long. But if I did, I'd take it to the cleaners to have it professionally hand-washed to ensure nothing happens to the patches.

This helpled me immensely--the patch packaging said to do it a different way but it would not fully stick. After trying it the way you do it, vwah la--perfect

My iron doesn't have a feature to add water. It just gets hot once I connect it

good question! all have lasted minus my harry potter patch. the edges kept lifting, so i took it to the cleaners to have someone sew it on securely

thanks! it was a small boutique store in new york city. it didn't come with the artists name on the packaging.

I'm so excited I just got a ton of cute patches. Mostly butterflies 🦋 because I'm obsessed with butterflies they're like my second favorite animal . Anyways I've already got a jacket I'm about to do and then I'll probably do a pair of jeans too but then I'm gonna get some more jackets . I'll probably do a white pair of jeans cause that would be pretty.... let me know if anyone would like to see a short of the finished products , it might be a while but I'll definitely do it if anyone wants me too/cares 💜💕💙🦋💗
I'm going to patch my army jacket soon and wanted ideas about placement. I too have that 'dope' patch! I got it off of ebay UK, what was the artists name?
We dont need any adhesive or glue to attach this to the fabric?? Is heating enough?
heating should be enough! i do have to mention that one of my patches didn't attach that well so I had to go to the cleaners and have someone sew it on

@@Giftis2sing Having them sewed would be better, but will be pretty costly! I think I was charged $10 for a single patch to be sewed. All my other patches have remained still a year later though :)

They will, but you have to be very careful. Make sure you either handwash or put it on a delicate cycle in cold water. I also recommend putting the jacket inside a mesh bag and turning the jacket inside out.

Ah great question which I completely failed to mention! I had it on the highest setting for my iron.
So that's the highest setting I got to put the iron on in order to iron on the patches
