It’s too bad the producers of Cold Case never struck a deal with the bands and artists playing at the end. Otherwise, this great series would be on DVD somewhere. I still watch it on a Roku channel with commercials of course. Watched the whole original series and have watched it twice in full on Roku. Probably the best produced, scripted, casted series ever made. And of course, the music.
Vera has always been my favourite.
the worse part for me was that her mother will probably feel so much guilty for not taking her home at that moment 😢 must be such an awful moment thinking your daughter was free and happy and finding out all that time she was gone. Another great CC episode

When I was rewatching this episode a few years back, it was shortly after my mom died due to complications with covid-19. The scene with the murderer being embraced by his Amish was the hardest, since I finally realized I won't ever again be embraced by my own mom. What a powerfull seies Cold Case was...

Same. My mother died from Covid related issues in 2022, and to say I still struggle is an understatement. I still have a hard time with my father's passing, and he's been gone since 2003. It's said you learn to live with that pain, which is true, but it hurts like hell.

Love this episode but it kills me Jimmy ended up alone in the end. He got no happy ending. I wanted a scene where Coop's father faced him and spoke to the man his son loved.
He got the happy ending that justice was properly served at least.

Me pareció una muy buena serie, por lo vintage. La buena música retro era uno de los motivos por los q la veía, además de lo novedoso de resolver casos del pasado, aunque no soy partidario de la aparición de las supuestas almas de las víctimas al final de los episodios, le daba un sentido simbólico de reivindicación y nada más
No eran almas que se aparecían, son los recuerdos de las personas, es como cuando pierdes un ser querido y de repente ves una silla, la cama o estás en algún lugar y recuerdas a ese ser querido sentado en la silla o haciendo alguna cosa, no es su alma, es su recuerdo en tu mente, eso es lo que dan a entender en la serie
A mi me gusta que aparezcan, le da un toque único que otras series no tienen.
@@Markovich Es debatible, puede ser un recuerdo o no. Por ejemplo, en el epílogo del episodio "Best Friends" de Cold Case, se da a entender que Rose Collins muere en el banco y que el espíritu de Billie Ducette vino a buscarla. Incluso la pantalla final es de color blanco en lugar del habitual negro.

These end scenes are always so powerful. Definitely one of the gems about the Cold Case series.
I love the montages at the end of the episodes. There’s just something about them that makes this show feel unique ya know?

The two partners on the police force were gay lovers so their sergeant and the captain organized an ambush to kill the openly gay one of the two because they felt he was a disgrace to the department.

as sad as it was, i liked this episode because it showed that even bad things can happen to the amish as good as they might be and of course i think amish was an interesting thing to tackle
Agreed. One of the bummers of season 7 of this show was how “gimmicky” it got, but this episode (despite being an earlier season) proved you can have a gimmick/theme and still have considerable dramatic depth.
It makes sense because the show was set in Philadelphia. Aren’t there a lot of Amish around there?

@@TheSongwritingCat at least a couple of decades in prison. He was banished cause he partied and became hooked on drugs. I don't think the Amish community will let him back in after he killed the girl.
@@notsureiL you'd be suprised. The Amish are very forgiving. Look up the amish school shooting, that bastard killed their girls and they told the shotters wife that they forgave him.

It doesn’t matter if he wanted to go home. He killed an innocent woman. It doesn’t justify murder. She wanted to live and discover the world but did she get that? No because of him. She will never get to go back home to her family

@@kathrynorozco5416 easy to cast such a quick judgement like that. He was clearly remorseful, and while he should be imorisoned for his crime, I mean Jesus Christ his whole life was one big regret. He thought his parents didn’t love him anymore, and fucked up big time. I particularly love this episode because of how sympathetic every character is in it. They’re a community trapped by tradition, and bad things can happen in an environment of rigidity. This was one of the best episodes in my opinion.

"Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield was the opening song for this episode...makes me cry every time i hear it these days b/c it reminds me of when the girl was leaving for Rumpspringa...too sad.
Exactly. That's why it bothers me that they used so many songs that I loved. Why couldn't they use obscure songs? As great as the music of One Tree Hill is, they used songs by not so popular artists from time-to-time.
What was this episode about?
An Amish girl who was murdered while she was on her rumspringa (kinda like a sabbatical from being Amish before entering adulthood or something like that)
The dude reminds me of Aaron Paul. His mannerisms of the way he looked at the two and started crying.

This is the perfect series I want to watch again every Halloween, usually SCARY MOVIES, STRANGE CREATURES, et. al., but this series gave the meaning of Mourning, Sadness, but finally a PEACE and RELIEF of mind now that those ghost of the victims finally gave their justice they've deserved. I kinda wish this series will be return after the pandemic 🙂🙏🙏

Purée ... quels que soient les épisodes, ces fins sont toujours aussi belles et mélancoliques, souvent teintées d'espoir et d'optimisme.
C'est ce que j'adore dans cette série. Les gens paient pour leurs erreurs tôt ou tard quel que soit le temps écoulé et la vérité les réunit et permet de tourner la page. Même dans les affaires où l'on croit être passé à autre chose, on ne l'est pas vraiment..

Je viens a nouveau de me faire gifler en plein dans la gueule par la localisation française... Non mais franchement je sais qu'est-ce qu'ils font faux mais c'est atroce. Pourtant je me rapelle que j'ai vu quelques films avec de très très bonne localisation! Alors que font ces putains de studio!
