REVIEWING RUNNING HEADLIGHTS BY LED LENSER
Im really late to watching this but did you find a solution to your right sided tightness/imbalance? I have similar issues and still looking for answers!
@@laurencharltonn not really one solution. I avoid sitting a lot and I do strength exercises for it
Great turn out for your run meet-up!
Thank you for posting Vera, it's great to follow your progress and build up to competitions. Of course, Olympic qualification is now confirmed 😍😍 so can't wait for the updates to follow! You are such an inspiration
Just Ran 14.25 Miles In Texas Today
Would love a video on what you do for strength training? And also an updated FDOE?
lovely video! Can i ask if there are any safety issues at Dullstroom? Read that Johanesberg can be "rough". And Lastly, I believe there is only an outdoor 400m track (grassed) right? Planning for either Dullstroom or Flagstaff (Doing some research).
hey! we didn't have any safety issues although there are warnings by the locals to not go to certain areas/be outside when it's dark/... I've never been to Johannesburg, only landed there and "immediately" left by car to drive to Dullstroom. there's indeed a 400m grass track around 25mins from Dullstroom, and a 400m track around 2hrs drive from Dullstroom. from the running routes/facilities/life around sports, I'd say I prefer Flagstaff. Dullstroom is great because for us, there's almost no time change and if we go there during our winter, it will be good weather. and it is much cheaper than Flagstaff.
Aww Vera, I'm sorry to hear things aren't how they should be. Hoping that it's short lived and that you will be back stronger and better. Take care lovely lady
How often do you do gym and for how long? Do you prefer to do it on the day of hard sessions or the day before/after? How do you adapt strength on race weeks?
During normal weeks (with no race) I go to the gym twice a week. Once is a more standard gym session which lasts about 45mins. And on the other day I work with a physiotherapist and do gym work as well as smaller exercises focused on prehab/rehab. That session lasts around 1:30. I do my gym sessions on Tuesday and Thursday, where I only do easy running. Wednesday and Friday are our session days, but most weeks we „only“ do threshold on those days, so not that high intensity. On race weeks, I mostly only do one of those sessions (or sometimes none). :)
Congratulations on your 10k National record. Impressive time considering you don't really train for that distance. I am going to race my second 10k in a few weeks, looking for 38 minutes. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Very neat setup! I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It’s not your fault.
you can always try.. 👍👍
Congratulations! Such an amazing accomplishment to be running with the world's best.
No worries, you are very accomplished
Ech fannen desen Format ganz gutt, well een Hobbysportler op des Art an Weis den Background, dei ganz Erausfuerderungen, Schwieregkeeten, Suergen an Gedanken mat op den Wee krit wou sech Topathleten maachen. Super! ; Ajo, den Audio ass 1A :)
cool en neit Video 🥳 et ass immens, dass Sportler aus dem klengen Letzebuerg op dem nemlechten Niveau laafen wei dei grous an stark Lanner
Hi ♥️I want to run 1500m how to increase my speed strength stamina tell me sis I want to improve my running 🏃♥️

Didnt even mention the pbs ;) Congrats on the season and onto another one full of fun and success :)
True! ;) Thank you!
Is having a track really that important? Id just take that flat road you showed us rather than drive 3 and a half hours for a session :D Otherwise, i too am glad theres more videos coming again although i once again have some catching up to do :D
Depends on what time of year it is and what we are preparing. The flat road is ideal for everything we do to build the base. However, I was flying down from altitude and running a 1500m on the track the day after I arrived home. So it was important to at least run a bit at race pace on a track and in spikes. Thanks!
@@VeraAndBob i see, spikes are indeed better suited to a track ;D
Aww this is great Vera. Wishing you the very best for 2023/24 season. Hope its a great one for you
Thanks a lot! :)
I like whatching ur videos <3
Thank you!
Die neue Saison wird groß 🥰🥰🥰🎉
Ja hoffentlich😍😍☺️
Loved watching this Vera, and what great memories for you to look back on. Congratulations on a fabulous silver medal ❤
Congratulations on the PB and being the first Luxemburger, Bob.
Congrats on the pb!!
Very cool to follow up so quickly after the race. I also got myself a big new PB today. Racing conditions were just perfect!
congratz on the new PB and very cool to have this video out so quick after the race!👏 I was supposed to run too, but I hurt my back 3 weeks ago and had to take some time off running... already planning to crush at next year's race :D
Proud of you! I was happy to meet you in Istanbul! It was an honour for me!
Nothing better than executing one's race plan! Congratulations!!!!
Exactly! Thank you :)
Nice race congrats on the medal and I really enjoyed the vlog.
Thank you!
Congratulations! You definitely earned it!
Thanks :)!
congratulations on the medal, you have earned it 🏃🥳
thank you!
I already thought we would't ever see your side of the table from our airport dinner vlog-crossover 😄 I guess your trip back home went a little better tho 😅
Better late than never 😂 yes it was indeed 🫣
teamwork!
congrast on the medal!!
Thank you!
I remember doing sessions at that flat road back in 2019 when I was there :) I had a sedan when I was there so the drive from the asphalt road to the flat part took ages 😄
So nice to see another video!
yeah a new video 🥳 i missed it
Thanks! Will be posting more regularly again from now on :)
@@VeraAndBob good luck for your race tomrrow, ech drecken dir Daumen 🍀
@@PaulWeber-v2l thanks!
What a champion 🥇
I did my 1st 5000m track race yesterday which was totally outside my comfort zone on distance and achieved my target PB by a nano second! Back to 3000m and my preferred 1500m in future 😊 How do you adjust to racing in such warm weather? You watch a race and don't appreciate how hard it must be until you've experienced it yourself. Well done Vera in your PBs of late 👏
Love the video! So cool to see! Will there be a part 2?
Thanks for the video!
It would be interesting to know how many miles/cross training hours you do? Does it change with camp?
in the build-up I do around 115km/week, with no crosstraining sessions. I double with running on Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays. So during the camp, I just added two cross training sessions to put in more work but still do the same amount of mileage. I'm planning to go up in total volume over the next years but I have been doing maximum 90km/week for the past two years so we're slowly increasing mileage.
@@VeraAndBob Wow that’s impressive! Is the cross training just easy effort/HR based? Does this reduce during the competition season? Sorry for all the questions!
@@laurencharltonn exactly. It was HR based but just so it really is easy (staying below 135bpm). Yes the overall volume reduces by quite a bit during the racing season. No worries, ask away :)
Did you feel safe running out there alone?
yes, totally!
@@VeraAndBob do you recommend any other altitude training locations? (Anywhere in the world!)
@@laurencharltonn my favorite place to train at is Flagstaff (USA). Amazing trails, good gym, nice coffee shops and just overall a good place to train and live :)
@@VeraAndBob do you recommend any cheap but also nice places to stay there?
Were there any specific nutrition or body composition things you focussed on during the camp?
no, just eating enough (and I incorporated a few times a "sugar drink" like Sprite after a session when it was really warm)
@@VeraAndBob ah okay! Doe you find that you needed to eat more with the altitude and/or more training? Did you try any South African foods? (I was born there!)
@@laurencharltonn yes I definitely do feel that way :) no unfortunately not really … Oh nice! I really enjoyed my stay there, such a beautiful country :)
@@VeraAndBob ahah maybe you will have to try some bobotie or koeksisters next time! I would love another video on what you usually eat on a training day/rest day? And maybe another one you and Bob chatting about your nutrition approach! I just find it a really interesting topic! Best of luck on your season- I’ve been following along with all your races and you are smashing it!
@@laurencharltonn yes if I go back I will definitely try some local food! I can do such a video and will see if Bob wants to say something about it;) Thanks a lot!
Such a beautiful country! So lucky to be training there
yes, so beautiful! hopefully will be going back!
Nice video
thanks!
congrats on the PB! The outdoor 5000m NR is definitely possible!
Thanks! Yes, it‘s a goal for the future for sure :)
Loved the insight, good work! Up for more + would be interested to see which kind of shoes you use :) take care!
Thanks for the feedback! Will do a video with some insights into my shoe rotation :)
