Hell for Leather - The Fulminators - rock 'n' roll bikin' instro
Old School rock 'n' roll/rockabilly/surf/hot rod instrumental made with a Telecaster and Garageband. It reminded me of riding a motorbike fast - hence all the pictures of bikes in the video.

What, Me Worry? - The Fulminators - instrumental, homage to MAD covers
มุมมอง 2589 ปีที่แล้ว
Perky little instrumental, which I originally uploaded with the title “Jaunty”, but, for no particular reason, decided to turn into a mini-homage to Mad Magazine. I cut over a minute out of the original version, beefed up the percussion and the overall volume, changed the instruments around and generally got it more beaty and focussed.
Guns Blazing - The Fulminators - Western theme
มุมมอง 3119 ปีที่แล้ว
An instrumental with definite “Western” overtones. I recorded a version of this five years’ ago, but it was too long and too quiet - I was trying to avoid distortion caused by the jangly guitars. I’ve cut a minute and a half out of it and beefed up the volume (it’s still not loud enough). It was done with a Fender Telecaster and Garageband.

Little Queenie by The Fulminators - Chuck Berry cover
มุมมอง 8269 ปีที่แล้ว
Cover version of Chuck Berry's classic 1959 record - one of the greatest of all rock 'n' roll tracks. For me it's a toss-up as to whether "Little Queenie" or the remarkably similar "Run Rudolph Run" is my favourite Chuck Berry number - they're both wonderful. The Jerry Lee Lewis version of "Little Queenie" and the one by The Rolling Stones' on "Get Yer Ya-Yas Out" are almost as good as the orig...

Time is Tighter - The Fulminators - Booker T & The MGs cover
มุมมอง 1339 ปีที่แล้ว
A cover of Booker T anf the MGs' "Time is Tight" - one of the greatest soul instrumentals ever recorded. This only genuine instrument here is a Fender Telecaster - the others are all digital. I've already posted a version of this, but it didn't have enough oomph, so I've generally beefed up the volume, spread the instruments out a bit, and added more percussion and background atmos.
Blowin' with Mr Groove -The Fulminators - '60s style soul instro
มุมมอง 1749 ปีที่แล้ว
Big sassy, jazzy big band-style instrumental dance number with a touch of soul instrumental thrown in. Original compisiton, created with Garageband, a MIDI keyboard and a Fender Telecaster. Er, that's it.
The Man with the Twang - The Fulminators fifties-style guitar rock 'n' roll
มุมมอง 40210 ปีที่แล้ว
A freshly rehashed slice of rock 'n' roll instrumental. I first recorded a version of this as "On the Prowl" five years' ago. I liked the guitar parts, but it had a horrible bridge, and it was just too slow and quiet. I've boosted the volume, speeded it up from 160bpm to 180bpm, added some piano and organ and extra percussion - and it sounds better.
"Funky Surfer" by The Fulminators
มุมมอง 1.1K11 ปีที่แล้ว
An original instrumental composition that's a bit surfy and a bit funky. "Heavy Surf" might cover it. I recorded this about seven years ago on a PC, using Cubase. I dont have the original files, so I uploaded the whole song as a single track to Garageband today and added lots more bass and drums and piano and some horns to beef it up and paper over some of the cracks. I like the old rhythm guit...
That's What I Want by the Fulminators - classic '60s Britpop cover
มุมมอง 1K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Cover of a 1963 Merseybeat single by The Marauders, which raced up the UK charets in August that year to reach No.43 - it should have been Top ten, at least. I say Merseybeat, but the group was from Stoke - it's just got that classic Beatly, minor chord, folky sound. There were so many British hits that year, I suppose this tremedous record just got lost in the waves. Pity.

Train Leaves Here This Morning by The Fulminators - cover

Here's our take on a great Gene Clark number that first appeared on "The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard & Clark" in 1968. Clark re-recorded it for inclusion on his 1974 solo album,"No Other" - but it didn't make the cut, and the failure of that album practically destroyed the singer-songwriter. The original is one of Gene Clark's classic mid-tempo, somewhat melancholy country numbers, but we t...
It's Nothing To Me by The Fulminators - cover
มุมมอง 1.6K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Loy Clingman did the original version of this great country ballad in 1957, since when there have been endless versions, including ones by Lee Hazelwood and Jim Reeves - but my favourites (apart from the original) are by Red Kirk and Sanford Clark (or Harry Johnson - there's some confusion!).
Long Black Shiny Car - classic rockabilly cover

Version of the great Mike Page 1960 rockabilly classic - though this version owes more to a great 1984 cover by the British outfit, Colbert Hamilton and the Hell Razors.

Nice job on what I thought was a rare song. Until recently I thought that Jim Reeves was the only singer who had recorded it. I recorded a cover of this song a while back. Stop by and check out my version sometime if you are interested.....Terry It's Nothin' To Me - (Jim Reeves cover) Terry Harrison

I withdraw all charges! I always assumed it was true because the guitar-playing style isn't particularly Duane Eddy-like. Then again, as it was recorded very early in his career, and he and Lee Hazelwood hadn't yet perfected that stupendous deep twangy sound, it could very well be the great man himself. Delighted you feel we didn't let down the brilliant original, Twang73.

Sounds like you lads have been checking the same dodgy lyric sites as me! No way did Bo Diddley sing "bounce" - trust your ears before trusting those sites, and if lyrics don't make sense, do as Jagger suggested and mumble them! My current best guess is that the line was meant to be "Yes I know by that you'll put me down" and came out as "Yes I know by'll that you put me down". LOVE the sound by the way - I thought initially you were an actual 60s band I didn't know about yet!

Sorry Fulminators. Really good job on your record, but let's get the story straight. Al Casey wrote this tune, Duane recorded it. It was released three times, every one of them the same track. Duane has talked about this many times. Give credit and respect where it is due, please.

  • @xrayit
    @xrayit 12 ปีที่แล้ว

"Duane Eddy didn't actually play on it! It was initially recorded by Al Casey" Myth!
