This is the first time all 7 xg girls rap together and what you just watched, their original song that's pure rap. For fun and flexing, they make cover songs called Tapes (rap cover beats), Vox (pop Vocals usually in the R&B and Soul style) and Moves (they are basically a dance crew that knows how to sing and rap). 3 of the members (Chisa, Juria and Hinata) are amazing vocalists but the main 4 rappers (Jurin, Harvey, Maya and your favorite so far Cocona) are vocalists in their own right. These girls isn't K-pop, they are Japanese but they're not J-pop either. A more accurate category is they're Hip-Hop, R&B or just X-pop. This might change because you just never know with these girls. Maybe the next drop will be a metal or hard rock song.

Crazy that you reacted to Cat and Mouse first, since that was the B-side and Karma was the title track. Still, both songs are great, and I'm happy to see you react to Blackswan. Underrated group, for sure. Blackswan has a tumultuous history, with many members coming and going. That's probably one of the reasons they struggled to gain traction. I like this incarnation, and hope they stick around.

A lot of people already chimed in but I'll answer your question if their other songs are like this. And that would be no, this is the 1st time they all went off like this. Even as a fan of the group, with them telling us they would all Rap, this knocked me out lol. Similar to other groups they have Vocal, Rap, & "Ace" lines which do both well. The closest in their short discography (2022 debut) would be X-Gene + Hesonoo performance version & Grl Gvng (Suggest you watch MV and then the dance practice after for reasons I won't spoil). Their other singles are Pop, R&B, mix, and other genres as they actually have yet to release a full album yet. Good luck on your Journey!

Thanks for the honest review! I appreciate authentic reactors. Despite their incredible MVs, Ateez is actually known for their high energy live performances. They have amazing vocals, rappers and performances skills. Dance practices and stages are popular. KQ is the company they are under and are know for being pretty reactor friendly. I haven’t seen a reactor have any issues with any content from their channel. They are also known for both their non-standard song flows including anti-drops and multiple layers bridges and choruses. Many of their songs are like anthems. They have a nickname as the ‘last 30 second idols’ due to their tendency to have explosive ending to their songs. For me, what really sets them apart is their B-sides. They have an incredibly full discography that incorporates a lot of genres, but still has an Ateez signature sound. For you, I suggest: Guerrilla-> Halazia -> Wake Up (No MV) -> Wonderland Halazia is sonically stellar, but Guerrilla is harder.

I strongly suggest for you to check out ATEEZ Bouncy (K-HOT CHILLI PEPPERS)' MV, their biggest hit. Since other fans already recommended Guerrilla & Halazia MVs and to understand more about their lore, I recommend you to watch The World Movement Trailer 1&2 and SPIN OFF : FROM THE WITNESS Prologue which is an introduction to the songs while you're at it. Tbh, even though I am a fan of Ateez, this song took a few listens before I liked it. It's definitely a grower. I would recommend Inception, Halazia & Guerrilla. Their latest Japanese release, Not Okay is also really good

Ateez have songs with many different styles, Crazy Form is one of their most experimental one, I still love it tho. You should check Guerrilla or Halazia, I think Guerrilla should be the one since you are a metal head.

Ive followed kepler from their debut. Tbh tho...its hit or miss. Up is still in my main playlist...its my fav song from them. I didnt like grand prix, it just didnt hit. But this is on my playlist. Its dramatic with a great melody. At this point, my expectations for any kpop group is that the mvs vocals visuals snd choreo will be 💯 on point. The only thing is whether the melody and music is my style. I love the girl crush concept, but i also enjoy the bubble gum fun concept too. Its a dark world rn and we need something to be just a happy vibe at times. This is a great group, and as i posted before.. plz dont disband. Great reaction 🙌

Oh i would absolutely go to one of these events if there was one near me. No apologies needed for your commentary cause you're spot on. Kpop does treat their fans on a diff level. Kpop being from a small country has to be more vested cause they're competing with huge music markets, the US and jpn. Saw a whole breakdown some time ago. And it's not just fan service. It's the music, mvs, content, and effort...we get immersed in the lifestyle. Plus, imo the music here in the US has been dark narcissistic and crap (theres good music too but nothing that would make me follow it). Til kpop i never ever bought an album before or any merch. Now i got almost 40 albums, hoodies, tees, other misc items. It's pretty fun tbh. The only thing that i have more of is my msu gear. I enjoyed this 🫰🙌

Vocals really are amazing. I've seen a lot of 3rd and 4th gen perform live vocals thru concert footage. Aespa is up there. I'm first and foremost once so I'm biased but twice is phenomenal...esp nayeon and jihyo. They hit those high and power vocals with ease. Aespa are real vocalist, no weak member. Love when a group slays a performance...aespa just did that.

But I has been growing on me and I think it's that kind of song because the style whiplash is so extreme at first. I think she goes through 3 styles - ballad on the intro & outro with a brief return in the middle, punk in the chorus, and indie rock in the bridge or C section. Imo the chorus is too aggressive and agro to call it pop rock. It's an Only Solar song in several ways - few other singers could pull off the various vocal styles as successfully or conceive the lyric concept and song structure to begin with. Solar co-wrote the lyrics with her boss and longtime creative partner Kim Dohoon, who is also the primary composer. Her Colours EP includes 6 songs in different genres so the whiplash continues throughout the album. She spelled the title that way to emphasize Ours - she wanted the album to celebrate diversity and community through a variety of musical colors. My favorite song on the album and imo one of her best tracks ever is called Blues. Highly recommended.

if you love solar, have to watch her live song "BLUEBIRD" she just sits down and sings with mic. This video "spit it out" does not showcase her vocals at all.. please make reaction to bluebird..it blow u on her sentimentality, power and soothing vocals. Its breath taking.

As with Mamamoo in general, Solar's solo stuff is all over the map. Spit It Out was an interesting choice for her official solo debut because it didn't feature either of the two things she's most known for - power belting and emotional ballad singing. On the other hand it was a perfect song for her solo debut because she wrote it to express her basic philosophy as an artist - she's going to spit out her passion and let it all hang out in her music. I think the reason she's bald is to convey the idea of being exposed and vulnerable, stripped to her essential self and unfiltered and uncluttered with the trappings of her charms and beauty as a woman. You'll probably hear someone say she was making a statement about kpop beauty standards and the social construction of the idea of beauty, which is true (she did something similar in the MV for Mamamoo's Aya) but I think that's a secondary level of meaning. Her original plan was to shave her head but the stylists convinced her they could achieve the same effect with a bald cap. In that scene she appears to be naked under the gauzy fabric and I think she would have done completely nude if she could have gotten away with it without being censored. Solar tends to take her ideas and concepts to the limit and beyond and she's got a wild imagination so that leads to a lot of surprising and wtf moments. Though Solar was the last member to make her official solo debut she was actually the first to release solo songs with MVs in the form of a series of covers between 2015-18 that were collected on her album Solar Gamsung (emotion or sensitivity). Those songs are all beautiful ballads with the exception of a 90's k-rock song called It's Been a Long Time that she did New Wave style as a tribute to or parody of Blondie with label mates Onewe playing the band in the MV (don't recall whether Onewe played the instruments on the track but I don't think so). She was also the first member to have solo concerts, shortly after Solar Samsung was released in 2018. Solar and her main songwriting partner (RBW's co-CEO Kim Dohoon) later turned the short intro section of Spit It Out into a song called Raw, the intro song on her Face album. Raw is still too short but it fleshes out that musical idea a little more. Same theme as Spit It Out - the main lyric is "I just wanna be RAW." Btw, Wheein has started a world tour that includes 8 dates in the US in May and June.

Mamamoo are the undisputed vocal queens of kpop. Check out their Killing Voice and Immortal Song live medley. Another group that you should like is Dreamcatcher because their concept is on the rock side of kpop. I recommend starting with their debut song Chase Me, which is part of a trilogy called the Nightmare series. Followed by Good Night and Fly High which is the prequel of the trilogy.
