RPT, Rounding Prevention Technology, allows for up to 50% more torque on a new/ good fastener. This should help greatly for your circumstance! RPT pulls the material of the fastener inward, preventing it from stripping out. Our socket extractors could also work in your situation. They are straight-cut and are hammered on. This means they get grip even on button heads like you mentioned. Bi-directional too so you can work it back and forth. That was a user video submitted by @3seriesgarage we paid exactly $0 for it. The standard hex had a lot of wiggle room and with a stuck, heat-cycled, or rusted fastener, it's not worth the risk of rounding it out. RPT Hex are complete replacements for your traditional Hex tools. 50% more torque on new and up to 400% more on stripped, damaged, or compromised.

Well yes and no, they do VERY well at removing stripped hex bolts but they're actually made to stop hexs from stripping. They work perfectly for non-stripped, non-rusted hex bolts and help prevent rounding but they also work as extractors if it is rounded

RPT = Rounding Prevention Technology. Not only do they prevent the damage from happening on good/ new installs, you will also be able to use that same bit to remove stripped, rusted, and damaged Hex fasteners with up to 400% more torque. They are not oversized and are a 1 to 1 replacement for your standard hex sets to be used the first time and every time. If you check out 02:50 in the video, the Loctite is peeling off the fastener as it's being removed so when you see the close-up shot, there is less there than when we first applied it to let it cure. The purpose of the demonstration was to show that even under extreme torque with a fastener LOCKED into place by a vise, it still won't strip it like the traditional hex did. In a real-world scenario, it likely would have come unthreaded long before snapping the head off. Grip it. Don't strip it. 💪

Unfortunately, the negative reviews are not typically the fault of the GFORS Extractors themselves. The drill bits that come with the set are actually left-hand thread, which means you can only use them in the reverse setting on your drill. If you try to use them in the forward setting, they won't work and you might mistakenly think they are "dull". The other factor is that they do not slip like most extractors do. Since they do not slip, it's assumed you can apply more and more torque until the fastener breaks free. However, this is not always the case. If the torque being applied exceeds the diameter of the extractor, it could eventually break. You will be able to feel it bending and flexing before it snaps. If you feel that, you will need to switch to the next size up and add heat, or use other measures to assist with the extraction. Hope that clears some things up! Vs a standard E-Torx socket. Where a standard will slip or cam out, the RPT E-Star (torx) will grip and remove without slipping and causing further damage. No extractor is needed in most cases. Prevents damage on new installs as well 💪

In this video, GripEdge RPT Hex was used to remove a stripped oil drain plug. The plug was stripped by a previous mechanic using a traditional hex bit, or maybe even impact on it, causing it to round out. We were able to grip and remove with high torque ratings using Rounding Prevention Technology Hex bits!

Thanks for asking! Dan used an 8mm RPT Hex bit on this 8mm stripped drain plug. It's tough to see, but if you pause the video when he's holding the RPT Bit (around 1:02) you can see the large 8mm engraved and painted sizing on the bit socket. It was a 1:1 demo video of a traditional hex vs RPT 💪
