      @@ZappedAU My first four decades of driving I had to use just pure vision to estimate distance. It’s only the last decade that I have had sensors on my car. I assume that in time the AI will be better at it than I am. So I won’t miss this recent introduction of ultrasonic measurements. 👍🏼😁

  • @ipullstuffapart
    @ipullstuffapart 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

    My argument is you always have your eyes anyway. The vision system seems superior at this point. Carparks are designed for cars without vision systems or parking sensors so you should be able to park fine without it. Always remember GOAL (Get Out And Look) if you can't judge the distance from the drivers seat.

    • @DerekDavis213
      @DerekDavis213 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you have 12 Ultrasonic Sensors on your Tesla, there is no need to Get Out And Look. That's the whole reason for the sensors.

And that system is so dumb, it will drive right thru a gate, right over a ladder in the road, and right over potholes and broken glass in the road. • @ThePantheons
    @ThePantheons 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The inherent problem is it should use both. The USS is perfectly accurate for tight spaces and also shows when you're close to other cars NOT reversing etc.. @@ZappedAU Ok, so I've asked around and contacted Tesla service and got an answer and resolved it. So what the issue was is that versions above 2023.20 has an issue where the update will keep on failing. I have the 2024 Model 3 with version 2024.8.9. For me I'm not sure if it's because of version, car, or both but it's causing update to fail. It is apparently resolved in the latest update but I don't have that. The solution was to find a old model 3 and plug the cable in to update it. Which is what I did. Again I don't know if it's because the car I plugged into was pre refresh Model 3 or if it's because they had the newest firmware. But regardless the cable updated in around 10 minutes. Someone I asked told me they took the cable to a Tesla dealer and they updated it for them. Which was my second option.

      Both are comfortable from a ride perspective. I think this Model 3 will be overall better as it’s got adaptive suspension compared to the EV6. Both are just as quiet. None more noticeably louder.

    As a current model Y owner i test drove this last week in Canberra. Little did i know i was the first one to TD as informed by tesla staff. I took it to country and quieter roads and 40 minutes later with a big smile my decision was made. This renders the M3 irrelevant. What a fantastic future. I haven't had even close to this much fun behind wheels. I can recall this bend recommend speed 55 I was at the legal top of 100 (ahem) it's a 100 zone and this thing was asking me to push faster. As a model y owner i wanted to test the suspension and so I did. I gave it a good solid test over every bump at different speeds. Suspension is excellent especially with the tyres they seem to work so well together it's unreal grip and comfort. Only observation I have is the brakes can feel inadequate with so much speed. As you said Nothing comes near it.. you should go for a test drive again in better conditions.

      Not referring to a W204. Agree that W204 is one of the meanest sounding V8's however from a general ownership/maintenance side of things; you're much more likely to have a list of stuff on a W205 C63S compared to a Tesla. I'm not referring to turning heads of a cheaper W204 + modifications. There are plenty of other cars we could throw into the list if we're talking about much cheaper + mods and turning heads. I feel we have similar taste except I wouldn't do a black edition body kit. That's just my personal view so if you have one - then I am so happy for you (and send me some videos!)

    Hey mate, couple of random questions. you mentioned there's a noticeable motor whine when you step on it - is the motor whine noticeably louder than in other dual motor Tesla's? and does the regen feel weaker than in other dual motor Tesla's?

    • @ZappedAU
      @ZappedAU 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey mate, it's definitely not noticeably louder. I would say it's on par/same as them. I only noticed it more because I wanted all sound/music off for the test drive to see how cabin noise is. Regen felt weaker but I'm not too sure if it's to do with the higher state of charge (Was around 72-73% from memory when I started the test drive) You can still do 1 pedal driving for sure. That isn't an issue but apparently the regen now re-adjusts based on the current state of charge.
