Thank you i had that same problem with the Utica 150 boiler and i had that 110 error message and this video helped me fix my problem thank you again
You're such a life saver! Worked for me 💃🏿
Thank you 😊that’s amazing, fixed my valve , added some WD40 as well before I did this. Spent 2 hours thinking it was an airlock, turning radiators on and off. Never worked, was ready to drain the system, refill but tried this first. Thanks
This video is great! For anyone that gets to the end and your hot water still just will not flow into the radiator.... check the return valve is open too - that was my issue in the end 😅
Of course the other valve on the radiator is used to balance the system (correct name lockshield valve) so it of course should not be fully open ..... in fact likely to be about 1/4 to 1 turn a way from fully closed.
If the pin is totally stuck and doesnt move when pressed, nor does it release when hitting the side of the valve - I've managed to release it on two occasions now by hitting the top of the pin with a hammer a bunch of times till it springs up!
screw is stuck, any tips on how to loosen screw?
this video came in handy, says a man with a stuck radiator valve 👍
Can the water stay tuned on ?
Yes, I've just changed my thermostat, and you can leave the water on.
how to fix water leaking from this kind of valve? as soon as I open it, water starts coming out...so I am not sure....how to stop that water. or its just little water which will come out.
Thank you very much this helped me alot ❤🎉
Mine is stuck on. I'm in the blistering heat in a top floor flat. How do I stop it???
thank you. My bathroom tap is dripping just a little and I know it needs fixing. I'll be able to do it now having watched your video. 😊
Just about to call a plumber but thought I’d watch your vid first. Didn’t realise the pin was in a semi up position so didn’t think the video was relevant to my problem but pressed it down anyway with a flat knife & way-hay the whole thing popped up. Can’t thank you enough, you saved me the hassle and 💰
Bad advice, NEVER bang a pump or anything, do NOT remove👎 the VENTING screw while full of water, that's dangerous water damage PCB.
Did the job for me, thanks!
Nice clear tutorial. Sorted my stuck valve out in less than a minute. Thank you so much!
Thank you. Fixed my valves.
Thanks, boss.
Did this worked for me. Quick question. Some say used wd40 or similar yo help stop it worming. Good idea or mistake?
Was quoted £700 quid off British Gas as they said I need to flush the system, I decided to look on TH-cam and seen this thankyou so much it took me10 minutes to do now my radiator is toasty warm
I hope you'll avoid them in the future !
ALL NEW PUMPS LOOK HARDER TO CHECK , HOW DO I CHECK IF THE TURBINE FROZEN
Fantastic, brilliant fixed in 2 mins. Thank you so much ...I'm subscribed :-)
There is electronic device on the pump (wilo) i dont know how to remove it
Thank you! That worked a treat!
Hi. Amateur here. I fitted TRVs to all but the bypass in the bathroom. They used to jam all the time. So free them up like this guy did. Then, when they get hot, get a normal candle and place it on top of the pin, the wax will melt and runs down the pin and lubricates it. Not had one stick in 30 years and I think there are 15 of them. Do it once a year. One 10p candle lasts 30 years.
You sir, are a legend, simple 10 minute job saved us £££. Thank you so much.
it woked! thanks man
Adamsın broooo xd sorted after your video, appreciated 👊🏽
You want to make sure the pump is isolated before you take that screw out .
My plunger pin wasn’t stuck so what now?
Why is control stiff to turn when plunger appears free
Thank you, this saved me from taking a shower in a completely cold bathroom :)
You deserve the finest muffins in all the land! A stuck TRV pin got a bashing and it freed up. Many thanks!
I have Bulldog valves. I have one that is seized solid on fully open. The pin is chamfered such that you cannot grab it with pliers as you are doing. I have sprayed Plusgas on it and left it. After a while I've tried depressing the pin but it won't budge. Is there anything else I can do?
LEGEND!!!
Thanks so much, mate. This helped me get 2 cold rads in the house up and working in 5 minutes
Please clarify this bit as the tool landed and blocked the word out "if you give it a sharp tap its (what?) the pump off"
Great advice. Many thanks for the video - worked a treat.
Thank you! So simple but you gotta know.
Thank you for perfect advice!!! You saved my day!!! Thank you!
Pump error code 281 I'm getting hot water but no radiators coming on. Did your hot water work before u did this pump fix?
Amazing. Saved me a plumber. Much appreciated.
Absolutely spot on this. I thought my cold rad would be needing a fitter. Nope! A couple of taps to the connector and it started working again. Bravo 👏🏻 thank you
Thank you!!! Very clear step-by-step instructions which I have just followed and saved a hundred quid or so call out for a heating engineer. Valve now working and hot water flowing happily through the radiator!
Cheers mate, just fixed mine :)
fixed :) thank you !
Sir, in clicking the lever into the on position, am I right in saying that the central heating will just remain ON & not go off at the time the programmer tells it to (for example, 22:00 in our case)? My mother slid the lever over and clipped it into position at the request of our plumber but this lead to the central heating radiators just staying on round the clock! We've unhooked it now and will await to see if this cures our issue.
So glad I came across this video when the radiator in our bedroom stopped working, thanks for the clear instructions!
Thank you, saved me from a big headache.
This just got my radiator working again that I've not been able to solve for a year! THANK YOU!
A little patience and perseverance needed but it worked perfectly. Clear and easy to understand. Saved a potentially expensive call-out charge for what was such a simple to solve issue. A huge thank you for posting.
