I've been working on my own cars since I was 16 years old. Always learning. Getting out of my comfort zone to do repairs that I've never done before. I'm not a professional. I'm a DIY'er just like you. Looking to do the work myself, save a bunch of money, and continue learning. I try to post videos on TH-cam that aren't already there, or maybe show a better, easier, more efficient way to do something. I just think we can all help each other.
Infiniti G37 - Remove Airbag Module WITHOUT Removing Center Console
Don't remove your entire center console to access your airbag module. There is an easier way and I will show you in this video.

Easy G37 Exhaust Mod
มุมมอง 1.5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
You've likely seen the exhaust mod where you put one of the nuts in between the exhaust pipes and the muffler to get some extra sound. I've done that mod, but I used a stack of washers instead. But it just didn't give me the sound I was looking for. I literally had a dream about it and ended up doing this much better mod for a much better sound.
Infiniti G37 Seat Recline Motor Repair
มุมมอง 16K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Bought a used G37. The driver's seat would go back but not come back up. In this video I'll show you how I repaired it. I'm guessing this repair will probably work for the G35, Nissan 370Z and 350Z. 2013 Ford Focus Window Motor Replacement WITHOUT REMOVING REGULATOR or window
มุมมอง 59K5 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I show you how to replace the window motor WITHOUT REMOVING THE REGULATOR and/or window. It's a much easier process. I don't know how universal this process is on other vehicles, but I was also able to do the same exact thing on a 1999 Acura Integra GS-R. In hindsight, a small mirror on an extension would've been extremely helpful.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement
มุมมอง 17K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Replacing the clutch master cylinder on a 2011 Genesis Coupe 2.0T. In the video, I say that you need an 11mm tube wrench. I never used that. You just have to pull the pin on the connection with the coiled tube that goes to the slave cylinder and, once you pull the pin, that end just lifts out. Don't forget to top off your brake fluid reservoir when your done.
where can i buy the gears???
I could never find “new” replacement parts for this. I had to get the gears out of a seat motor from the junk yard. I mean, I’m sure you could call a dealer parts department, but they would likely want to sell you the whole seat motor. They gears may not be sold separately.
Unless not throwing away that hose connected to your brake fluid reservoir, you could just cut it and angle it up instead of having to find a plug. (4:10))
Is the motor seat aslo the same for the passenger seat too??? Hello Todd
I believe it is yes.
Had the clutch replaced with the valeo clutch kit after my slave cylinder went on me and ever since found it very hard to go into first particularly and second gears and the clutch engaged super far down. After inspection the plastic clutch master cylinder rod hole was worn into a slot where the pin on the clutch pedal interfaces, meaning the clutch is more engaged for a given pedal position. Replaced the CMC by following this today, finally my genesis feels normal again
Nice! Great job! Glad this video could help.
Thanks a lot I am having the same problem in passenger side. Hope I can fix it
You got this! Hope you can find a donor seat motor.
gears are made of a plastic toy smh
Can you please do a clutch bleeding video on a manual genesis coupe 2.0t Thank you !
I don’t have this vehicle anymore. Sorry. I now own an ‘08 Infiniti G37 as my primary along with some other cars so….wont be able to help out on this.
I got in a accident recently but no air bags went off but I already have my airbag light on that it has been in a previous accident but it turn on and cranked well and after this accident it doesn’t crank but turns on but I could hear a buzz and click when I try to crack with this possibiliy resolve it ?
I wish I could tell you that it would but….i just don’t know. I’m not a mechanic. Just a DIY’er like yourself. I’m sorry I can’t be more help.
Hey there, did you figure this out?? Having the same issue my car won’t start after being in an accident and airbags deployed
Also if water gets Inside of it will it damage the internals??
Water won’t get inside. But even if it does, condensation can form inside the exhaust pipes. it’ll all come out next time you run the car. Water would never make it up to the engine. All is well.
Also another thing I got the exhaust bolts off how to I make the muffler more manoeuvrable the parts that you moved in your car won’t budge on mine do I have to loosen more than just those two?
You might have to take off an exhaust hanger or two. I’m pretty sure I had to do that. But once you get the pipes reconnected, you should be good to go! You’re gonna love the sound.
Ok can you make a video or small clip showing what exactly you toook off
I actually can’t make another video for you for this. I recently had some work done to my car and had the muffler deleted and straight pipes installed. Sounds awesome. So the exhaust hangers have changed for my car. You can figure it out. You’ve gotten this far.
Question, did you unplug the battery before removing the "module"? I purchased the repair through SafetyRestore and am sending the module.
Hey! I honestly don’t remember if I did or not if I didn’t say it on the video, but definitely couldn’t hurt. I probably didn’t because it was just the module and not the actual airbag. Glad this video helped!!
@@toddlefortsgarage thank you so much.
You don’t have to struggle in the door panel removing the 3 screws just remove the last one holding the unit to the door it then comes out and you can get to the back 3 screws a lot easier
Brilliant video, managed to change my motor successfully. Thank you for your video 👍
Hey man, I tore apart the seat and replaced this tilt motor with a new one. But my tilt is still not working, really upsetting cause it took me like 3 hours wasted
He mentioned it at the beginning of the video, but did you try replacing the switch? That’s another common problem with these seats.
HELP PLEASE My 2008 G35 has a continuous airbag light. Tried to reset it. Didnt work. Took it to the dealership. They say the passenger side airbag sensor needs replaced. $6-$8 grand! Im disabled dont have that kind of money. Did my research. My specific car is not in this recall 😠.. Live in an inspection state and cant pass inspection. Cant find a used seat ( might wind up with the same problem anyway ?) Thinking about seeing if someone can check the connection under the passenger seat ? Could it be this entire module?
Will this damage the car in the long run or in anyway I have one of these and can’t decide whether or not to do this to it
Not at all. It’s just a muffler disconnect. Actually, since I made this video, I recently brought the car to a muffler shop and did a total muffler delete. I had them keep the resonators and replace the flex pipes after the cats because they were leaking so bad and the car wouldn’t pass inspection. Sounds great to me. That’s all that counts. You should do it! 👍🏻
G37 makes it impossible to do this because of back air vents
Thank you so much for the video!!!
Mine works when I plug it into the battery, Directly. But it won't do anything else
If it works when you plug it in directly to the battery but not when it’s plugged in through the connections under the chair, then unfortunately it sounds like you’ve got a break in one or more of the connectors back to the main wiring harness. I’m no electrician but sounds like you need someone to trace out the lines or rewire it to bypass the harness right to the battery. Good luck!
Would these cause your car to not turn on or turn off by itself while driving ?
No it wouldn’t. I didn’t have a problem with that while waiting for the module to be reset. And I haven’t had a problem with it since. Never have had a problem with this setup. Hope that helps.
Many thanks for a very helpful video. I was able to get the motor our of our Focus CC door relatively easily.
Glad it helped
Thanks for the very informative video. Exactly what I was looking for. 👍👍
Glad it was helpful!
Tahks!
My 09 g37 was in a accident my airbag did deploy but my airbag light did not come on. Should I still get my airbag module reset?
Hi Antoinette. Hope you’re ok from the accident. Sorry to hear that. I’m no airbag expert. That’s really odd that the airbag light is not on. If it were me and the car was all repaired and the airbag light is not on, I would not personally make the expense or work to reset the module. Perhaps the repair shop took care of that for you when they did the repairs. You have to make the call that’s right for you though. That’s my opinion. Hope this helps a little.
@@toddlefortsgarage Thank you and thanks for your quick reply. I’ll be replacing the airbag myself this following week if the airbag light is still off I’ll probably take the initiative and not reset it. I started to get the center console out to take out the module and I’m having trouble getting it out. I started thinking if I do send the airbag module in what are they resetting if the light and code aren’t showing.
Airbag modules store hard and soft codes when there is an accident. Even after small accidents, fault codes will be stored in the module which will turn on the airbag light. When you send in your airbag module, they reset and clear all of these crash codes inside the module in order to turn off the airbag light. But if your airbag light isn't on, maybe there are no fault codes stored on the airbag module.
Ok o
Did this and clutch feels worse now.. any idea what happened? I bleed the brake system too
It’s been a long time since I posted that video. Did you bleed the clutch slave cylinder underneath the car by the bell housing? Do you know if your slave cylinder is good or not? The clutch slave cylinder is a moderate job. I replaced that before finally doing this job. Unfortunately, the clutch slave cylinder is inside the bell housing. Gotta check every part of the system. You’ll get it! Best of luck to you.
Great video. I have a 2012 G37x Sedan sport my car was in a accident after the impact the airbag didn't deploy but the SRS airbag is flashing, it was diagnosed with (code: B1015 PRESENT FOR AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT) is this related? if it is, would the module be located on the center console as well?
Hey Don. Sorry to hear about the accident. Hope you’re OK. I don’t know exactly. if you go to www.myairbags.com, they have a pretty basic airbag module location lookup. For a 2012 G37 it says that it’s “under center console on the floor”. Good chance it may be in the same place. Hope the video helps you fix yours. Good luck!
@@toddlefortsgarage Thank you for the quick response. I will try that!
If yours is blinking than it's much easier to remove.. there's a few steps you have to repeat in a certain sequence and it should fix
@@brandolopezz4397 not sure if I can follow! what steps?
@@Don-qz1cu one of the steps is switching the key on and off like 3 times look it up on TH-cam
Update! My car is a G37 sedan so the process removing the module was a lot more complicated but after removing and sending to the link you gave me I was able to get my airbag light light off!! Thank you so much man 🙏🏽

Thank for posting this video, Todd. My wife's 2011 Genesis Coupe manual trans started having issues getting into the gears. I think this might be the issue.
I really hope this helps you fix it Victor. I don’t have that vehicle anymore but I really enjoyed it. Good luck!
Did it fix your issue?
@@Zangetsu1435 Hello Amer, Thank you for commenting. In my case it didn't totally solve the problem but helped make the car drivable again. I'm not certain if it was the bleeding of the clutch system or the replacement of the clutch master cylinder. The slave cylinder inside the bell housing is the only part of the hydraulic clutch system left to be replaced. Replacement requires the removal of the transmission to get to it. I came across another TH-cam video were a Gen Coupe 2.0 T owner removed his transmission and replaced the clutch slave cylinder only to discover that his problem was the one I replaced. In my opinion it's better to replace the one I did first and see if the problem is resolved before pulling out the transmission. Best of luck with your repair.
@@vbared late reply but it's for future reference. The issue with many hyundai master cylinders is that they have fixed master cylinder rods(that thing with the ring that attaches to the pedal). almost all other asian cars have adjustable rods where you can lengthen/shorten the rod with a bolt and nut setup that enables you to change the clutch engagement point. if the rod is too short the clutch disk won't fully disengage and you'll have a hard time shifting especially in lower gears. The length of the rod is variable and depends on things like: clutch brand, disk condition, flywheel condition, etc. For some reason Hyundai chose to overlook that in some models. Long story short I had issues after replacing my clutch and changing the master cylinder didn't help. I ended up pulling out the rod out from the old master and replacing it with some random rod from another car. Shark racing makes a rod specific for these cars called "shark racing clutch adjuster" but it's pricey. The idea is to have a somewhat matching rod and lengthen it until you have the master cylinder push more fluid to fully disengage the clutch from the flywheel.
@@faresBtoush1990 I finally got around to the root cause of my issues. Thankfully bleeding the system prior to the actual repair bought me some time to get a transmission jack and tall jack stands. In my case the leak was coming from the clutch slave cylinder inside the bell housing. I pulled the transmission and replaced it over a weekend. It's been perfect ever since. Thank you for the info on the adjuster. I have a 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS Turbo and a 2004 EVO 8 both of which have the adjustment rod for the hydraulic clutch system so I'm familiar with what you're describing.
I share in your excitement brother. These seats are a royal PITA to work on. Have replaced the seats in my 05 coupe with components from another 05 then again with 06 coupe seats. They are brutal. But great job!
Hey Bro, is there any difference between years and SRS modules? I have a 2014 Q60 (same as G37 coupe). I bought the car with the light on SOLID took it to Nissan and the claim it’s the front crash sensor, driver side sensor and module…. I’m assuming I should start with the module first? Who reset your module?
Hey Raul. I just don't know. I'm like you. Just a guy trying to fix his own car. A quick look on the Internet "looks" like the cars are relatively the same generation so the SRS module may also be the same. I put in a previous comment reply that I used Safety Restore. They are out of Westfield, MA. I found their airbag module reset service on eBay. Here is a link to their website - www.safetyrestore.com/7-airbag-module-reset-service. I’m not paid to endorse them. Their price was reasonable and service was very prompt. Hope this helps!
@@toddlefortsgarage Thanks Todd, I will use your method and update you . Keep up the good work I will subscribe to your channel!
There is a difference in the modules. You’ll have to look at the part number it has .. it probably is best to get the module reset if there was airbags deployed or if the module is faulty. Once the module is fixed then whatever codes are left are the remaining issues with the car
@@MarioHernandez-bn6pm Thanks bro I will check that out soon, can I come back for you for advice on this? I may need to buy the front crash sensor I think I was told it’s Broken
@@racova3663 yeah that’s fine man.
May I ask where you sent it out to get it reset? And is sending it out the only option?
I used Safety Restore. They are out of Westfield, MA. I found their airbag module reset service on eBay. Here is a link to their website - www.safetyrestore.com/7-airbag-module-reset-service. I’m not paid to endorse them. Their price was reasonable and service was very prompt. Yes, there is a way to reset it without the service but you need the same software and module connectors that the company uses and the knowledge of how to do it. I don’t have any of that. For $40-$45, it’s worth it in my opinion.
@@toddlefortsgarage ok nice thank you! I appreciate the quick response! Just subscribed to your channel 👌🏽

Did you have to adjust the clutch master cylinder or just take the old one out and put the new one in ? I’m having the same problem and I change the clutch master cylinder but still having the same problem I have to pump my clutch couple times so I can get pressure on the clutch to change gears
@@toddlefortsgarage thank you
@@cesartenoco8205 I’m having the same issue even after a new transmission installed.
