I think where McDonald was weakest was his ability to coach players outside of scheme. It showed when we played down to opponents and failed to play with a consistent hunger throughout the season. It’s probably something you can only learn how to do as an actual head coach. I’m sure he’ll reflect on that this offseason and improve moving forward.

it seemed to me like Grubb 'bought in' to the improved o-line play in the Arizona game and just said fuck it go ball against what was seemingly a similar d-line. Gave them no help and completely scrapped the quick pass game that helped them so much against AZ. every week it feels more and more like he doesn't know what's going on

despite the defence struggles i think coby bryant was the best defender in the first half and he continues to impress me, I think he keeps his job next year

I like Grubb, think he needs a 2nd season, I feel like he does better 2nd look at a team, (small sample size). I also think there has been enough this season for confidence next season, we have stopped the run frequently this season which we could not do this year, there have been games where Geno uses the short passing game with huge success, the problem on offense is, I think you said it Mike, over confidence or stubbornness, play what works (the defense gives you). Need to play better teams more often, it has been a very easy schedule and then wham we play a decent team.

Brutal loss after flying high, hopefully can learn from it and move forward.
