How to kill an Lb7 Duramax, with a s475!!
Come along as Andrew and me build his lb7, we are doing s400 swap, injectors, valve train, cp3, built heads and studs, and building his trans. All out of my garage while trying to blow it up along the way!!! #s400 #lb7

so does any cold air intake fit it, im installing a s366 on my lb7 but cant seem to find a cold air intake kit

Awesome vid. I popped my lbz with a 366, currently rebuilding and thinking of an s400. By the sounds of things these old lb7s last longer and rev higher than other duramaxs… what are your thoughts on these lb7s?
@@jradd3477 personally the only duramaxs i like are lly lb7 and l5p they just seem to be stronger. You can make them all rev higher with built valve train and rowdy tunes tho
@@Brandon__52502 fair enough. What is it specifically you like about lb7s and llys other than that they’re stronger? Does having a ficm come in to play with the engine lasting longer?
@@jradd3477 never had a problem out of the ficm on them. Lly still to date have biggest factory turbo. Lb7 don’t have emissions first common rail. And lly and lb7 arnt over priced abd hyped like lbz
Did you tune the truck after? And is the transmission stock?

Did you use a ppe pedestal? Was there much clearancing that needed to be done?
@@alstewart525 used a ppe pedestal and 2 inch spacer. Just gotta put a longer vent hose on and do the thermostat housing reroute. A 6 1/2 inch pedestal would work better. We had to grind down the corners on the ppe one to clear intake manifold.

When you put the turbo inlet back on did you use a different v band clamp or a bigger one I’m currently trying to figure that out my stock one don’t fit both turbo side seems to be bigger than stock

What did you do about the old vane position sensor and stuff like that? Do you need a tuber to not get angry check engine lights?
@@draperwebb1770 unplugged the vgt sensor and yes you have to get it tuned You can’t do any turbo without a tune

Egde tunes are junk. Get efi live with actual good tunes before you blow you motor with trash egde tunes

Extensions, a 17 socket and a few bad words
@@Brandon__52502 I got the ones into the pedestal from the block fine it's the ones from the pedestal holding onto the turbo. I'll use some choicyer words

What your setup injectors cp3 tuner and anything else? How many miles you have on your truck? Thinking of doing the same thing to my lly

Yeah, some people said "Smeding Diesel is a piece of junk, don't buy it from them it's made from another country!!" Well, it's made of materials for building turbos, manifolds, and components. Google rating Smeding Diesel 3.9 out of 5. It sucks, It happens to me, their shop, and the customer who bought Smeding's products.
I’ve had my kit for a few months and no problems with it people tf out of it

How much boost does it run?
Havnt had it to full boost yet but I’ve seen 50+

hey man i got the same turbo and i can’t seem to get any flutter at all?
Gotta let out of it at the right time and it’ll flutter

@@izziclbz these turbos don’t have a waste gate. Mine won’t flutter unless it’s up over 30 psi

Who’s tunes do you have? I just put a 366 on mine and doesn’t nearly smoke as much as yours
I have dans diesel on mine. But i also have a bigger turbo and a few fuel upgrades and a stock stall conveter so mine doesn’t spool fast on the brake and smokes to get up into the rpm’s. Truck spools fast as hell and smoke clears up past 2k rpm
I have motorops tuning with a smeding s366 in my lbz. 45 over injectors and piping kit. Little to no smoke. I miss rolling coal lol

I havnt towed real heavy with it yet but with everything i have it does just fine. I’ll make a video of towing my 5th wheel next time i get it out
did you have to re tune it after the turbo or is it the same tunes ?
It’s retuned in these videos but i drove it for a week before i got it retuned and it’s fine

@@braxtonrosado1995 yes but the sooner the better. It’ll run but it’ll be getting to much air for the rate of flow the injectors are tuned for.

did the s300 swap on my 6liter same thing no instructions but pretty simple as long as ur not a rookie lol looks good tho
Thank you. Yeah as long as you have a general idea of how these engine work doing this swap isn’t hard just a couple things that will confuse you. If they sent instructions with pictures i think a lot more people would buy the kits. That’s why i made a video of how to put it in.

Got any pics of how you did your oil drain ? Did you reuse the stock one? Also what’s the blue hose for ?
The blue hose is my fuel line i don’t have factory fuel filter and i don’t have any pictures but i used a g&r s300/s400 drain line and ran it under the turbo
Sorry blue hose that comes with the kit. And the two hose clamps. Also which side up pipe takes the smaller bolts?
@@alexnoriega7406 the blue hose that came with the kit is for if you use the drain line they gave you. I didn’t want to run the drain they gave me so i got my own. And the smaller bolts on mine went into the passenger uppipe at the top
@@alexnoriega7406and i was wrong the blue lines in the bay that you see are my pcv report hoses, my fuel line is ran lower and can’t see it from the top
just got mine in and the hose is like a 3/4 inch blue hose, so can i just take the old oil drain off my turbo and put on this one and discard the blue hose?
