The reason for the censorship was that they were originally planning to air Kodocha on Cartoon Network in the US… but sadly those plans fell through..

I really loved Kodocha....definetely too big for it but not really because Kodocha has such mature subjects. I will rewatch for sure. I'm grateful for your channel 😊

hey guys, i was wondering why did the creator of the show miho obata never did any interviews? i serached for interviews on youtube and nothing! did she not make any public appecances at all? any way thanks for the podcast. Its nice to see atleast some people remembering this wonderful anime.

I think the airport scene with Akito and Fuuka perfectly represents their relationship and the circumstances that led them to get together. Fuuka originally got together with Akito after seeing him heartbroken over the news of Sana and Naozumi being together. She comforted him, and that was how I read the airport scene as well. In a way, she was comforting him again as he dealt with Sana leaving Japan, while also making it very clear that Akito was hers.

Can’t believe I haven’t seen this podcast until now. I absolutely adore Kodocha and really look forward to listening to all of these episodes.

There probably wasn't a lot to go on, but there's also Fuka x Takaishi. Not to mention Zenjiro and Ms. Andoh, as disturbing as that is.

This was a really fun podcast to listen to! Jacob is a welcome edition and it’s just so nice to hear a group of Kodocha fans enthusiastically talking about it in 2023. Keep up the great work and continue to spread the enthusiasm! 🎉🎉😃 Oh, and manga ALL the way. Prettier artwork, better and more nuanced characterization, Sana and Akito actually date and have happiness together as a couple (even if it didn’t last long)…and the story is complete 🥰

As much as I love the dub there are some questionable choices they make when changing dialogue.

Finally got to listen to the whole thing. Loved it. Mr. Hayama is one of my favorite characters in Kodocha.

You guys are great! Thanks for all the videos and for this amazing podcast! I am sure you know about this, but just in case you don't (as I hear you have only watched the second season twice) you can find the whole show on YT in Japanese with English subs! I have just re-watched the whole thing myself! It was great for me, as so far I had only seen the Italian version of the show, which was massively cut and censored, both in terms of difficult scenes (like the knife's one) and in terms of dialogues. So it was great to watch the Japanese version finally!

Love hearing you guys talk and listening to your perspective/insight on the series!! I’m right there with TKG, I didn’t discover the series until I was 22, and it makes me crazy cuz I wish so bad I could’ve know about it when I was Sana’s age 😭😭😭 Keep up the great work guys, I’m already enjoying the podcast so much!!!

My favourite moments is where Akita helps to keep Sana awake when she has a exam and another one is where he PRETENDS he has a picture of the TEACHERS 👩🏽‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏻 and HE DID IT FOR SANAAAA 😭😭😭

weird ship my sister has is Misako and Rei. If Rei was older, I think it would've been a cute ship :) I think it's cuz he's like a father-figure to Sana. They're a happy family regardless!

One of my favorite Sana/Akito moments is in the episode where Sana is struggling with writing her essay. Akito is feeling a bit helpless, wondering how he can help her, and he stays up all night buzzing her on the barutcha so that she doesn't fall asleep and can get it done on time...
