Cinemassacre's Audio Slaughter: BLACK SABBATH
Audio only podcast originally released on the Cinemassacre website on June 11th, 2013.
-original description-
I’ve been obsessed with Black Sabbath since I was in high school. I’ve been wanting to talk about them on the site for many years. Now that the new album “13” is out, this is the perfect time. It’s the first Black Sabbath album to feature Ozzy Osbourne on vocals since Never Say Die (1978) and the first with 3/4 of original members since Born Again (1983). This is not just an album. It’s an event. Let’s celebrate!

Uuuugh, this guy is and has always been a creep, this must be the longest I’ve ever had to watch this pot scrubber. As for her, I know she’s had some trauma and been exploited whilst underage, but now that she’s grown, what’s her excuse for being a dick?

My favorite is the kid with the shadows making hand gestures. Not sure if this is what it means, but to me it is three levels of reality and the kid from the human level is trying to reach through the borders and join them together.

My life is divided into two halves. Before I saw 'Eraserhead'. After I saw 'Eraserhead'. The films of David Lynch changed my ideas about what cinema could be. Although later works such as' Lost Highway' and 'Mulholland Drive' are better known, early works such as 'The Grandmother' and 'The Alphabet' already have firmly in place the qualities of a Lynch film. There is an obscure and quite extreme piece of 1980s video art that seems to have been inspired by 'Eraserhead' here: th-cam.com/video/HRA4hueAmAE/w-d-xo.html

I knew that Twin Peaks The Return referenced some of Lynch's short films, not just his features, but man, some of this is just the same thing, bolstering the interpretation of The Return being Lynch's self-retrospective on his career. Thanks for posting.

The closest thing to brainrot from the 1960s is maybe the tv show "TURN-ON" from 1969 which strived to be the first randomly generated show and was so hated it became the only show to be cancelled right after the first episode. idk brainrot is interesting, there's so much content millennials, boomers and gen z consumed that could be brainrot, so why is gen alpha any different, seems like typical "back in my day" behavior. I don't like watching brainrot, but it's not so different from what dadaists were striving to do in the 1920s.

The best one for me in a different, actually hilarious way is the sailboat. I wonder if he made a bet with his friends that the film of them having a lovely time and being bros he just shot, he could produce in such a way that all the viewer feels is dread and impending doom. That or one of his pals said "Hey Lynch! I bet even you couldn't turn this vacation film into something dark and hideous!!!" Lynch then has a hold my beer moment. Either way I love that all he did was in effects which are pretty simply executed, and I felt like I was watching found footage. Brilliant!

I feel like his whole Vibe is, " i've set up something creepy here, now you decide what is scary to you about it." I'm not hating at all, but can someone tell me If this is correct or am I missing something.

Lynch is a Writer of the Strange, Dark, and Mysterious! Often with an Offbeat Fictional Flair! This makes him in a Catagory all his own. I would not say Lynch is a Horror Writer. In his better Writings Adapted for film he leaves Interpretation up to his his Audience? Yes he also Directs and Produces alot of his work. Guy must have made some money on weirdness?
