You Color My World Using Condensed Uppercase Alpha Dies Video
Does not work
Is it a Gemini plate? You may have to do it a couple of times but put pressure on the pot right after you pour the hot water. You may need to help it along.
Wow, clear instructions, I' m Italian and I was able to follow you perfectly! Thank you 😊
That is lovely 🥰
I think if you use a damp rag to the oxide one the haze would come off too. Very nice. Thanks.
Whar color distress glaze was used on this demonstration?
This is a clear glaze meant to protect the images.
Magnifique
I LOVE these colors together!
I know I am late to the game but I cannot express how grateful I am for finding this video!!! I followed your instructions and it worked perfect !!!!! Thanks so much!!!
You are welcome! It’s a great alternative to provide more life to your plates. It can be done many times. Believe me I know!!! Lol
Thank you for showing this example of using foil and embossing combine. I will be definitely trying this. Using gold.
You are welcome! It is a nice alternative!
THANKS so much for this info about the glaze I had no idea it would give that much definition to these inks….Can’t wait to try this!
You are welcome! It’s a game changer!
Love it!
Oh my double ditto to each comment below! I needed to hear to TAKE MY TIME! What a different it makes & to heat each layer. Thank you! Plus I ended up with areas that I couldn't get ink on so I took my finger, dipped it in some ink left on my mat. Took that finger & tapped the areas. Yes I love how mine turned out. Hugs
TFS! I LOVE Distress Oxide ink pads and pretty much use them for most everything. They are so versatile!
They are my most frequently used inks as well. 😄
Tried it several times on different plates, didn't work.
I have used this technique on different plates and sizes. I have no problem. Did you apply the weight right after pouring the water?
Can you use same technique on the midi folders
Yes you can do this to the mini plates as well. Just add the pressure in the hot water.
Very nice! Never used distress ink.
You will love them! It is my most used inks.
Do you think I could use a heat press
Ohmygosh I just started using my new cutting plate but after cutting quite a few dies it it has broken and shattered but is in one piece still but my steel shim and small shim also bends and rolls up and I have nooo idea how to stop the rolling of the shins! Any ideas?? TIA Tracey
I can’t believe how well this worked!! Wish I could include a picture!!
Believe me I know. Lol.
Can I do this with Distress Inks too?
I haven’t tried it but I don’t believe the results would be the same. I believe the Oxide component is what makes it work. But I will try it and keep you posted.
@@tinaguiguidornbaum2778 - thank you!!
@@tinaguiguidornbaum2778 By the way, what is the tan thing you are spreading them on at first???
@@brilliantbrunette009 it’s Ranger Ink - Inkssentials - Reusable Non Stick Craft Sheet - 15 inch by 18 inch. But you can also use the ranger silicone mat.
Gorgeous!
Thank you Rebecca! 💖
Why not put the hot pot on top to flatten your plate?
For years I looked for a T ruler that was 6" rather than a foot, because long rulers don't work well for me in my cramped work space. Simon Says Stamp and My Sweet Petunia both offer them now. SOOOOO helpful!
I have both 12” and 6”. I have it in a tin and reach for it when I need it. I find I need both for various reasons.
You mentioned adding water to water-soluble media to re-activate it. I keep distilled water in my studio to use any time I'm adding water to media, as tap water can introduce problems. I use it in my spray bottles for that reason as well.
Thank you for the tip. The water I used was distilled as well. I will add it to my description.
Hi tina, great to see you on again! Great tips!
Thank you Jennifer! I am happy I will be able to film again :)
Hi Tina. I just found this video and I loved seeing the difference in the two papers! The 3D effect is amazing. Thank you for the video!
Great video, clear and easy to understand-and not too long! Thank you
Thank you Vivien! 💖🥰
Thank you!!!!
You are welcome! 😀
I put my plates one at a time on a baking sheet to large for my oven. I put the temp at 200 and the door was ajar about 5 Inches. I watched them carefully and pulled the out and put on a bread board. Worked great ! Thank you
Gorgeous!
Thank you Sherry! 💖🥰
THANK YOU! Quick, easy, and the lowest foiling cost.
Thank you very much for this video!
Thank you!!! This has been one of my favourite techniques with the Distress Oxides!
Thanks for this video! I just purchased some of the domed sponges from scrapbook.com and I really do like them better than the flat ones. However I wonder if you could comment about how you prevent the ink from getting on your hands when moving the domes on and off the wooden tools. It seems I get more ink on my fingers switching out the foam pads than I do when I'm actually inking up the paper!😊
I am so happy you like them. I will never go back to the flat ones. I haven’t found the perfect way to remove the pads. I go right to the edge and lift. You can always try thin plastic gloves to remove them. If not I keep a bottle of hand sanitizer gel and it removes the ink.
Very pretty colors🙂
Thank you Kristine! 💖🥰
Thank you for an excellent video. You gave the best explanation of all the ones that Ive watched.
Thank you Lindy!!! 🥰💖
Great tip, thank you!
Thank you Becky! 💖🥰
Can you do that with the plastic shim as that drives me crazy!
I am not sure if it will work. I didn’t try it because at the time I did the video I didn’t have an extra one. I have just received a new one so I will be testing it out. I will let you know if it worked.
@@tinaguiguidornbaum2778 brilliant thank you I know it won’t iron flat I have tried it :/
It worked with my plastic shim also.
Thank you for this tip, I rarely use the Gemini Jr. because of this. You would think since they know this is such a problem they would lower the price on the plates.
I use my Gemini Jr all the time and I only have the Cuttlebug to compare. My Cuttlebug plates never warped. Although the Gemini is amazing at die cutting intricate dies because it uses a lot of pressure this is probably why the plates warp more.
Tina, I tried this and the only problem I had was that on the ends that touch the machine, the tape starts to wear. I was afraid it would get stuck in my machine and so I just taped the 2 end that do not actually touch the machine. Thank you for the tip - it's great!!
If you go over it with a bone folder it is enough to keep the two ends down. I haven’t had an issue with the tape wearing out. But it should be enough with just the two sides.
@@tinaguiguidornbaum2778 thank you!
Will be trying this. I threw away 6 die plates while making Christmas cards this last year. :-(
I know the feeling. I had thrown away a few myself.
It's a great idea...but I found my plastic shim still warped. It's like a big bubble in the center. :(
My plastic shim was also warped in the center. Taping it has helped. I have used the taped setup for a few days with lots of die cutting and so far so good. I am going to try the boiling water on the plastic shim to see if it helps. I will keep you posted if that helped.
@@tinaguiguidornbaum2778 I may try that as well. Fingers crossed. 🤞
Holy smokes, great tip! Thanks Tina!
Thank you!!! 🥰 It’s saved me from having to buy new plates so often.
Is the TH paper the same as yupo paper ?.....and after using the glaze does it take stamping ok ?....brilliant tutorial 👏
Hi Jane. Thank you! :) Any Yupo Paper will work. Because I heat set every layer I add this will not smudge. I haven’t tried stamping after glazing so I can’t answer that. I will try it out and let you know if it works!
Great idea! Doesn't the inked foam leave ink inside the accordion folder? or do you add a layer of plastic (DuraLar) over it? Scrapbook.com has great package deals on the domed foamed blender applicators. Again, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Mary Ann! 💖🥰 I do have a little ink transfer but when I insert it back into the accordion I am opening it and sliding it on the uninked side. When it finally rests it is resting on top of each other. The slit has quite a large opening that I haven’t had any issues. When putting it into a binder you can always add a sheet protector in between each sheet. Yes Scrapbook.com has great deals on the domed foam applicators. 😀
Such a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Debbie! 💖🥰
Why not try the glaze on the card stock?
Cathy I haven’t tried to add glaze on card stock first because I had the Yupo Paper. I will give this a try and let you know if it can be done and if it gives the same results.
@@tinaguiguidornbaum2778 does it work on cardstock?
Love it Tina.. it really is gorgeous.. Received some alcohol inks today so will give it a try.. thanks for the tutorial.. much appreciated :)
Thank you Hanny! This video came in time then. Please let me know how you did and if you were happy with the results!
Gorgeous...can't wait to give this a try. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Thank you Mary Ann. This technique makes the world of difference. I should have shown what my panels used to look like. LOL.
I really enjoyed this video, but I'm having trouble with the process. I dried the Distress Oxide in layers on Ranger Alcohol Ink YUPO paper and then let it dry further overnight, but when I use the glaze the colors all blend together. I'm wondering if you were using an alcohol ink paper that was maybe more porous than YUPO?
I was using the Alcohol Ink Cardstock, not Yupo. Here is a link to the product I used. Yupo paper using these inks will not dry and it will smear when using the Glaze. www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Tim-Holtz-Adirondack-Alcohol-Ink-CARDSTOCK-TAC30027-33679?sscid=a1k4_ny304&ShareASale&
