That was very helpful. I can't find a repair place that will repair my Sony TCS-350 recorder anymore. I do remember the last place said they just replaced the belts. So I decided to repair it myself. I ordered some rubber belts and am waiting for them to arrive. And the service manual is freely available online. I did notice the tape counter wasn't working. It's driven by its own rubber belt and you have to take off the front/other half of the cover to access it. I'm not sure how to install it though. I was hoping this video would show how. Oh well, I'm sure I'll figure it out.

for those who wants to change capacitor. I wasted 5 vintage walkman because I tried to change the capacitor, . what happened is the twisting motion like he did to remove the capacitor, sometimes it strip the connector from the motherboard , where you solder the new capacitor . next time you know, its not there anymore , it came with one of the legs of that old caps the you stripped. But good luck . Damn if you do, Damn if you don't.

I checked the original pinch roller itsmeasurements is 6mm so the difference is 0.5mm ie 5.5X2.1X4.5mm I checked on the Internet I cannot find original 6mm? As you are professional master engineer how can I fix this issue? Is there any attachments I can do to get walkman working? or where can I buy 6mm pinch rollers ? I have this model. I bought 2, one in working condition and another for parts if/when needed. The "working" model does a weird thing where it doesn't turn on (with batteries installed) until I've pressed every button and opened/closed it. It does a similar thing with the ac adapter. Except, it'll play a whole album, and then the buttons don't have a reaction. They don't work after they worked earlier. I have to disconnect the power to stop playback.

Hi, thanks for your vids. It helps a lot! I have a question regarding to the rq-sx models. Currently I'm repairing a rq-sx72. The motor is jittering and doesn't fully rotate at all. I doubt it's a motor problem, is it a problem with the a pcb component that's not sending the voltage in correct sequence to the motor, so it has no way of turning? Have you come across this problem?
