I have all of the synchron pianos And MAN these sound identical to their digital brothers ❤ This is the result of great sampling
Which do you prefer? Me: YES!
Bosendorfer sounds more crystal clear for me ❤
Loved the Ravel on the Steinway and Chopin on the Bosendorfer was gorgeous. Not so fond of the Yamaha.
I like the sound of all 3, they're all quite different. But I would choose the Yamaha if given the choice. I feel like it cuts thru more, especially in a band setting.
The Yamaha did not have a cohesive sound. I can't decide between the other 2
Just left a concert where the performer is also a Steinway artist. They had a Steinway and Boesndorfer on stage together. The artist chose to play on the Boesndorfer. It is a rather elegant instrument that is best heard in person.
I remember seeing a steinway piano play itself in london steinway hall in 1998
Steinway invented most of the technology and is the classy most used in major events for 100 years plus.
Can we make a realistic comparison listening on a computer, rather than listening to the pianos live?
I think Fazioli should have been given careful consideration also .
😍😍😍😍😍
A simply brilliant comparison video. I’ve played numerous pianos from each of the three makers; the finest large grand that I’ve ever played was a Model D Steinway. The most hugely disappointing large grand that I’ve ever played was a different Model D. They can be so inconsistent. I love the crisp articulation of the Yamaha here, the warm bass of Bosendorfer; all three are magnificent. But of these three, I’d choose the Steinway.
The Steinway is the winner to my ear.
Steinway is amazing , no doubt about it ! But Busendorfer is a little bit better , a sound deeper.
스타인웨이 음색이 너무 아름답다. 그 매력에 반해버림😭😭😭😭😭💙💙💙💙💙
None of the above. Fazioli is my choice. They all have strengths and weaknesses. Forced to make a choice, it would be between the Dorfer or Steinway. But, taking price into consideration, it would be the Dorfer.
Very interesting video. The sound level on this video is much too low. I have volume turned right up on my lap top and on the video. Lovely playing and very interesting to hear these three instruments. Each have their own special qualities. The Steinway has it for me, very closely followed by the Bosendorfer.
What about Fazioli? It is the best period.
Steinway D is magnus ❤ Bosendorfer isn't for loud slamming but delicate perfection
Just a note: If you are interested in buying a Bösendorfer Imperial, get in contact with me.
Fazioli.
The bösendorfer sounds more organic
Steinway❤
I prefer Steinway over Bösendorfer, perhaps because I performed on Steinways for my entire career, and I rarely came across a Bösendorfer. Steinways do have their individual personalities, quirks, and idiosyncrasies. Yamaha just doesn't compare to the above two, in my opinion, and the action is too light to suit me. Your mileage may vary.
Hamburg Steinway
Bösendorfer the best!!
Hamburg, not New York!
That gaspard de la nuit man
STEINWAY WINS AGAIN!
Fazioli Is the winner
I love the well-rounded Bösendorfer sound. It works for many genres.
The Yamaha just doesn’t cut it. All hype and price points. The Steinway also too cloudy for French music
I’ll go with the Bösendorfer. The Liszt just sounds majestic on it, I love that massive bass; the Ravel may be not as clear as on the Steinway, but in someway it enhances a more mysterious atmosphere, probably closer to the “nuit” sound; the Chopin Ballade on this instrument gives me a strong visual sense, the high and low notes seem to be talking and confiding to each other, really dramatic and emotional, I can’t feel this as much on the other instruments. I’m not a pianist, this is just simply what I think as a listener. However, all world class instruments. Thank for providing this video.
Yamaha CFX is the one , Steinway D-274 the second and Bösendorfer Imperial 290 is behind . Bösendorfer Imperial 290 for more bass music . Steinway D-274 for all variations of music . Yamaha CFX is for modern and young music and "players" but also for all around .
What i must to gugle to listern more like that?
This is the first time I am really convinced by the quality of a Steinway. Is it thanks to the outstanding pianist, Mr. Mendl?
While at Piedmont piano co. I had the chance to sit down at each of these including the Fazioli. That was a few years ago. But each left an impression on me, including thee Fazioli which just recently was the only concert grand left in the shop. Right away I notice the Bosendorfer sound is right on top of the harp and in front of you, the others all seemed somewhere in between, slightly above or below thee harp. I did notice on the Fazioli a bit more of a unique dampening from sustained to dampened or Sostenuto that caught my interest, though the sound is a little bit trapped below the harp, and obviously there is a difference between old and new piano hammers not yet well worn. I purchased the CLP-785 which has all three of these piano samplings. after renting the NU1, and the action or touch is quite remarkable, but there is still nothing like feeling actual strings or dampening through the keys.
And the verdict: They are ALL wonderful pianos, that you could not possibly go wrong with, no matter what you play. Basically, for strictly a listener's perspective, *who cares* which of these wonderful instruments gets used for playing your favorite piano piece?? The differences (if any) are going to be more significant to the musician - how the keys *feel* - their action and responsiveness. Mr. Mendl doesn't really make any distinction along those lines - I'm pretty sure those pianos ALL have wonderful action, and, of course where all tuned and regulated right before this test.
So much time, money and effort for having essentially three identical instruments! Let’s cure cancer instead!
No one playing pianos is working on a cure for cancer.
I would have loved the C7 instead of the CX. The Bösendorfer has approx 13cm more length than the others I take it?
Steinway, for sure. There’s a reason they’re preferred by classical pianists around the world. Even in Vienna they use Steinways mostly. Maybe Bösendörfer is best for Schubert or chamber music, otherwise Steinway all the way.
Jeez, the Steinway sounds so rich and warm. I love it. All three are beautiful instruments, though.
Yamaha sounded open, bosendorfer sounded inside with no hole, steinway has some hole but inside
As an amateur pianist, a literal potato with wild appendages of varying lengths and strengths, I believe my opinion is important. I may not have much experience or achieved much in my musical performances or demonstrations as part of a duo, trio, quintet, small collegiate performances, official symphonies, an orchestral centerpiece, recording artist, and hand-model stand in for an actor(s); but I can say that each of these pianos are magnificent.
Welcome to my fantasy world, everyone! 😃 my favorite is the Bosendorfer. It has a nice warm sound but also has very nice volume. Steinway is an extremely close second but I like the warmth of the bosendorfer. The Yamaha is a bit too dull for my liking.
Same story Bosie: Warm and inviting Steinway: Balanced Yamaha: Happy and lively
What I love about the Bosendorfer is how every note, no matter how dense the texture, sounds equally. Incredible
Petrof
I've always been in love with the sound of Bösendorfers because I love the soul hugging deep bass. And at some cases the no-blending of treble and bass sounds works well. But Steinway pianos are more popular choices in music halls for a reason. They might sound bit more mellow in comparison, but they are suitable for any work and because of their powerful voice they fit better with orchestras. Bösi can disappear in the background more easily as even the Imperial has less volume. Steinways are also having unique "favours" eveb within models so there is more chance to find a voice specifically good for a certain performance. But for home I'd buy Bösi. We could work out how to make everything sound good together... As for the Yamaha... I know they're good pianos but I've never liked them much. For me they sound too birght. C. Bechsteins are also awesome and I lovr their innovative attitude, but those were bot featured here.
