So sorry you had the tire blow out on the way to Cottonwood. Looks like you both handled it well. I know it's really hot there right now, so you two take care of each other. Hope to see you both again in the fall. :)
@@Curtis-MaryRVistaQuest Thanks for the compliment. We were around 6-7k ft when it happened. Thinner air, temperature in the 90s, crawling around on the gravel/grass, on the edge of 260, while people are barely giving me room to work. That all made for a fun time. Life has its challenges and this is just one more to put behind us. 👍😁 You two be safe out there and we look forward to catching up with you soon!

I want through Basis Training in one of these n 1971 at Fort Leonardwood. Missing are the roaches. They had an odor of their own and were drafty as hell in the winter. Everyone had a cold, some had meningitis. Kind of miserable but the food was surprisingly good. Breakfast was outstanding. Eggs any way you wanted them, sausage/ham, hash browns, toast/jelly and coffee, strong coffee. Quite delicious.
Brings back all the memories. Some better than others.

How is it working for you?
In the past year, we have added 1200W of solar panels. We have also stayed at some Harvest Hosts. We used the generator once because, we didn’t have enough sun that day to charge the batteries for our second night in a row staying at harvest hosts. So far, it’s working well enough. As always, more solar and battery would always be better. I think I was too concerned about battery capacity for that second night but, all went well. 👍

I went through Basic Training/OSUT 1987 in the old WW2 barracks. Very similar but a few things are different. This brings back memories
I spent all of my 2 years in these style buildings at Ft Dix,Ft Benning,Ft Carson back in 69-71.. missing are the water filled butt cans on each post and water filled “humidifier” cans on the ceiling ducts..also we had metal lockers (no wooden coat rack) and in Ft Benning Ga. we had big window fans, also floors were covered with some shit red linoleum that had to be waxed and buffed every day.

These were our barracks in Fort Knox and Fort Sill in 1965. I’m a 76 year old Vietnam vet. From Ft. Knox to Ft. Sill to Schofield Barracks to Nam. Thanks for the memories.
