I haven’t read the books, but I have some idea ideas. I believe that the door at the bottom and whatever secrets it holds is going to create a rift between the mayor and his shadow. The judge and his wife are also interesting. I believe that she will likely die because that would take away the intelligence apart from him. Not saying he’s not smart, but she is clearly in a better league in terms of intelligence. What would he do if she was killed, and he felt that he knew someone who had done it was still around and he was unchecked in terms of power? He could be a great villain for the next season. I find it interesting that they are building the prison in the cafeteria because that’s where the screen is. I suspect Juliet showing up on that screen maybe with another person in town is going to really set things off.

How do we know it was an A.I. that spoke to Lukas? Maybe it’s a dude in a control center monitoring shit, lol!

My thoughts The AI is the same that's in the vault. I think since it registered him as the IT shadow thus why he qualifies to know the information. At the same time i think this AI is embedded in the entire Silo thus why it would know George Wilkins without him being a shadow. I don't want Solo to be the one who takes the 2nd suit....

I have a theory, the door might be the “safeguard” and opens to the air or whatever on the surface. The other Silo might have found this out and decided to flood it to cut off the threat thinking they were either going to fall prey to the “safeguard” or risk the outside. Thinking about it like that I would understand risking it givin the other option, to your knowledge is a %0 chance of survival while going outside it might still be up in the air. This would also explain what the other Silo’s Sheriff’s wife said to him saying “what if he was lying” and the sheriff says “ we will all be dead anyway.” This didn’t really make sense if you think about it. Surly the head of IT was telling them it was deadly to go outside. So the context doesn’t make sense. But if he was telling them about the “safeguard” since the silo was already gonna be flooded and the threat was gone so he could spill the beans.

All the silos are under a dome keeping in some toxic air and the whole thing’s a TV reality show

This episode was very enjoyable. I can’t wait to hear your additional thoughts, and also to see how it ends, because they’ve set up a lot of stuff that wasn’t quite the same as in the books so I don’t know how closely they’ll follow the books in the next episode or what moment they’ll end on. One thing I didn’t think to mention about last week’s episode is that it didn’t make sense in that episode that Lucas was publicly ordering people around. Lucas is the IT shadow, and no one but judicial security is supposed to know IT is in charge. I did like the conversation between Lucas and the algorithm though. I’m excited for how things may play out between them. One thing about the sheriff in silo 17. If you watch the first few minutes of episode one he says his hand slipped, I think. I believe that means that he killed Russel by accident. He was intending to only threaten to kill him to get Jimmy to open the door, but then he accidentally killed him. So I don’t think he’s as bad of a guy as you think he is. Also, now that it’s been revealed who Solo is I want to comment on a slight difference from the books. I don’t see how this information could spoil future plot points, but I’ll put in some space before typing it so you don’t have to read it if you don’t want to. In the books, Solo wasn’t the name of another person. Solo just chose that name because he was alone. That’s all.

Interesting the name of the AI is "The Algorithm" but was referred to as "The Legacy". And it said "We" when referring to initiating the safeguard. [The Algorithm] Before you, only three people have reached this door. Salvador Quinn, Mary Meadows, and George Wilkins. I did not speak with Wilkins. Quinn and Meadows were both given the same directive you will now receive. If you speak to anyone about this conversation or what you have seen down here, we will have no choice but to initiate the Safeguard.

The suit will still need mechanical's tape and a full air supply.

6:16 the picture here shows green areas, could be the safe places outside silo. letter D might be danger zones. there are people with various height measurements to measure distances, and birds can find safer areas. just some thoughts.

I think that Lukas thinks the safeguard is the memory erasing drug they put in the water. that's the one he is aware of.

I think the tunnel just floods the silo and that's the safeguard. I also think the 51st silo is a mechanical silo that houses the AI, safeguards systems, reactor for silo steam, etc.

This episode renews my question "Where the hell are these mines?" Lukas is at the bottom. Only four people have been there. So no mine there. So the mines must radiate outward. EXCEPT that they are surrounded by other Silos! Other Silos that must also be mining. They aren't that far apart. In 352 years they've never bumped into each other? I can't make it make sense.

If I were solo I would stay at 17 safe and with new friends . Silo 18 is going to shit avoid.. finally a good episode in season 2 too bad it's still sooooop DARK

Solo was the son of the former head of IT. He was a child at the time of the rebellion. He was sent to the IT bunker. This is seen in flashback in earlier episodes. His family or anyone else do not seem to have been able to join him.

Okay, I’ve finally watched the episode and your video. On the SiloSeries subreddit, someone cracked the code a few episodes ago and posted what it says. You’ve only seen the first part of the message and I’m excited for you to see the rest. I’m looking forward to how that might influence your theories going forward. I’m also excited to see what happens between Juliette and the other Silo 17 inhabitants. I expect the next two episodes to be packed with events if the season is going to end where I think it will. It should be fun to watch.

Lucas is a genius. He figured things out about the stars, earth and sun. Meadows, was smart, and probably figured out the code, realized something important and resigned herself to ultimately leave in a suit when she found out about the tape. Interesting how The Wizard of Oz comes up and she wants a balloon, kinda made me think she knows way more, like if it was real to her, and possible to do.

Maybe another silo, another thing, why did they leave her with access to an axe? Brilliant strategy to play dead, but not to leave a weapon behind.

Not a book reader. I believe we will find out the Meadows did decipher the message and the rest of it, beyond what we’ve heard, is so bleak that it led to Meadows’ drinking problems.

Hey, I haven’t seen the episode yet but I’m stopping by to say hi anyway. I’ll come back and comment again when I’ve seen it and I have something to say.

Are they surviving in the tunnels? Trapped because of the flood? Maybe with help from one of the other silos?

The narrator of video stated, “this is the slowesrt story growth ive ever seen”, i totally didagree. I think that the creator/writer have kept us wanting more at every turn. It would be a very shorted sighted for Apple TV to not continue with season three and then commit to a season four to offer the creators to bring us what will be a greatly anticiputed grand finally. It is humorous and rather annoying to hear this narator guess at every turn and i dont beleive he has a clue as to what has already taken place and where the story is going to take us. The analysis here is based on trying to fit the story into a formula from past scifi stories. What i like so far is that we still dont have a clue as to who the aliens are and why they are here. The shard, which is a simple object which is serving a a vehicle tor the story which i feel is a tiny. Bit of something of great importance as to why the alien race finds itself trapped on the escape from as big of a threat to its survival as it poses to earths survival. I dont beleive that we have yet met the actual aliens, only their soldier drones.

let's hope they're doctors because juliette needs a LOT of medical attention haha solo was probably an IT shadow, he's very "curious" I guess they built the bow after learning how to by raiding a library, maybe they're the offspring of those who left in the rebellion. But their group knows how to defend themselves. There must be many groups if they're this hostile towards Silo and Juliette. Maybe they go from silo to silo gathering up materials for a far push elsewhere. Maybe all the other silos are barren. This feels a bit like that children tribe in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. I think the ultimate continuity error is that there's not a giant pile of dead Cleaners outside the window. haha Imagine all those centuries of dead Cleaners. If anyone needs to see a naturescape hologram to look at it's the people in the cafeteria staring at the dead bodies. Walker's GF will end up dying in Bernard's custody and Walker will go nuclear. I feel this show is making the same mistake House of the Dragon S2 did though..feels like it's stalling.
