I 100% agree and speak from experience. I was naive and I wanted to go to David's bridal and I didn't want to go anywhere else because I was so sure that it would be a positive experience. It was absolutely awful. This was about three and a half weeks ago and it was absolutely devastating. The sales people were awful and I mean awful to wear two people in my party wanted to leave because they were so upset with how I was being treated, and I was feeling the same way but I wasn't saying anything until the end I threw my hands up because they were not listening to me they were ganging up on me they were trying to make me do things that I specifically said I was not going to do or I was not interested in. And I can only speak for my area, but the dress is definitely are not cheap price-wise. I went to a high class boutique a few weeks later just because I was completely taken aback by how negative my experience was and so I figured I might as well try both sides. I had the exact opposite experience at the boutique and I found a beautiful dress and even if I didn't find a dress, the courtesy of the staff, the wealth of experience and knowledge and listening to what I was saying, you can't put a price on that. It was a magical experience and I will dedicate significant time to shouting it from the rooftops! I am so glad I ended up going to a boutique because I was so against it at the beginning but David's bridal change that. I will never go back there and I will never suggest that anyone goes there for any reason, any event even if it's a problem. I will never get over how awful of an experience it was.

I don't think that the original owner would like hearing that their dress was hideous.

I have seen where people took that original high neck piece you cut off and turned it into a choker necklace. I thought it looked good as it matched the gown. Yes, the gown is very pretty, and it does not have to be a wedding gown. It would make a nice formal. As you said, the sash could be easily replaced in any color a person would like. I have seen them on Amazon for under $20.

I refashioned a friend’s very 80’s wedding dress into a rehearsal dress for her daughter. It turned out beautifully.

I love every one of your ideas. I am 60 years old and getting married for the 1st time in April 2023. My fiancee and I are on Social security therefore we are on a very tight budget. One way we are saving money is by getting married in our local church and using the church community room. The second way we are saving money is to have a small intimate wedding and reception. I was planning on getting a single tier store bought cake and decorating it myself. I was thinking Walmart but Whole foods does have a better bakery. My fiancee is a retired chef and will be doing all the cooking. I was planning on hiring a couple of my oldest granddaughters friends to serve and clean up afterwards. Another affordable option is to have a simple back yard wedding and reception. In my city the county offers free civil weddings on Thursdays. We considered this option 🤔 . With the plan of having dinner in the private room of our favorite restaurant. This would have cost us around $1200. As it stands we'll be spending about $1500, not including my dress. Which only cost me $145. Believe it our not I bought it on Amazon.

I think it's a shame that the appointments are so strictly timed. What better way to put a bride into a panic than to do a countdown to "how much time you have left." I haven't heard too much positive about David's Bridal. Small boutique is the way to go - they care.

It sounds to me like you needed to take control of your appointment. I could write a book about the differences in construction, fabric, etc. between the boutique and the chain stores, but that isn't the point of your video. You are focused on the experience, and you seem quite young. If things are not going well with the consultant, you can always ask for a different consultant or even another appointment. You knew that the dress was $399, and you should be quickly able to calculate sales tax in your area. You should have been able to question the total before you paid it. Definitely return the belt. There is no question that you will get a better "one on one" experience at a boutique or bridal specialty shop. You are essentially looking at the difference between Walmart and Nordstroms. If you really work at it, you can sometimes even get real designer gowns at cheap prices at boutiques--designers offer serious mark downs on last year's styles, breast cancer fund raisers sell used gowns at great prices, etc. This is an older video, so hope your wedding day was as magical as you wished.

I got my dress at DB and had a good experience. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a dress I’ll have on for a few hours. I’m an older bride, so I won’t be handing the gown down to anyone and I’d rather spend the money on a great honeymoon. I also had looked on the website in advance so I know what I wanted..

I work at David's Bridal and I LOVE my job! When my brides find their dress it is the best feeling! Seeing their happiness is what makes my job so satisfying. Recently I had a very obese bride. I realized that this could possibly be a challenging situation as the largest size that we carried in-store was a 26. This woman needed a 30. I wasn't sure that I was up to this challenge and thought about passing her on to another stylist. Then something in my mind changed and I realized that I had the opportunity to make this woman feel really special. She found "The One" and it is one of the best moments of my career at David's Bridal. Like anywhere, you're going to have pushy salespeople, I see it at my job EVERYDAY! But the great thing about David's Bridal is that they do offer a wide variety of dresses for all sizes and budgets. I appreciate that. I don't have any experience with bridal boutiques so I have nothing to compare them to David's Bridal. I guess it really comes down to who you get as a stylist and the connection that is developed between the stylist and bride.

I went to David's bridal on a Saturday and I got this type of service. Really rushed and I felt like I was an inconvenience. I decided to give another DB location on an early Tuesday afternoon and the experience was completely different. The consultant was veylry helpful and paid attention to all my details. I think that since it wasn't busy as a Saturday she was really able to focus on me and what I wanted. My appointment was for 30 minutes and she spent just a bit over an hour with me. I also went to a boutique and they made me feel as if I wasn't going to be able to afford anything in there store. Very snobby and pretentious. It rubbed me the wrong way, that's why I decided to go to DB one last time.

The experience will be in fabrics that are not itchy and will make you feel comfortable, so that you are not rushed, make the appointment during off-peak hours.
