Most times hotel credits can be used for spa, or activities. Every hotel is different. You just have to see where you can use it! It is a great perk.

@ awesome, we booked for may a few weeks ago even tho we JUST got back from Cabo San Lucas 😂 I don’t recall the resort I looked at a while ago, but the resort credits were for buying your alcohol. Even tho it was all inclusive. You had a daily credit for alcohol. Not interested in that kinda deal.

I am not a travel expert, but most bad food and drink reviews come from us folks who were born and raised in America. Unfortunately, here in America, they pump tons of additives, preservatives, sugars, etc into food that make the food taste better. I experienced this when I went to DR twice, Mexico, and Jamaica once. In international resorts and restaurants, the food is fresher. So meats and fish are caught, cleaned, and cooked in a reasonable time. Also, due to having to cater to a massive amount of dietary restrictions, the use of salts and heavy seasonings is kept to a minimum, but there is always salt, pepper, hot sauce, etc available. Hotels, don't want to be sued or held liable for allergy issues. Regarding the drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, natural sugars are used when manufacturing beverages. no high fructose corn syrup, and fruit-based drinks are used with real fruits, not the artificial stuff used here in the state. So, for the most part, foods at resorts taste like they are supposed to without all the added BS. So, if you keep that in mind, the food and drinks won't be an issue.

Going with an open mind is the best thing to do! I'm sure you will enjoy! Have an amazing time.

@we.outandabout yeah and also sometimes it's best to keep it simple. I remember my first all inclusive and i was trying all the fancy drinks and none were doing the job, but i switched to rum and coke and it was doing the job lol

haven't heard a lot of good things about Riu, particularly for the food.

HI, yes, we did get this complimentary upgrade being that we had a trip with 80 people on it. It was a fantastic experience and we definitely recommend choosing this room if you can :)

In Mazatlán there is a 21 Km boardwalk along the beach with the freshest seafood & best live banda entertainment anywhere you see! Very fun place to be in the touristy area!

Thanks for your comment! 😊 They have 2 restaurants and a rooftop bar/restaurant. As far as price , hotels are always more expensive on the food side, but it was a huge price difference in comparison to the local restaurants we went to. Even a rooftop restaurant we visited was much cheaper. Hope this helps.

Hi Nique, no we did not have to. We don’t believe any restaurants are an additional cost. However we didn’t hit all of them so we don’t want to make any promises. But it’s an all inclusive so there shouldn’t be extra costs. Hope this helps :)

Hi Tyler, that was our first time in Cabo and we have not been back since. However, that was a general comment. From all the places we have visited, we have paid less and experienced more. Hope that helps :)

Great question- what we experienced is that people would wake up early and put their towels out for the day. However we had over 20 people with us so getting cabanas weren’t too difficult but it’s not the easiest. We don’t believe there’s a way to reserve them ahead of time.

Hi Jay! This is a great question. Because we stayed for such a long time and we pretty much rated the food 4/5 we wanted to experience food off the resort as well. Sometimes we left for parties and excursions so naturally we wanted to go and explore other restaurants off the resort and in our opinion it was a bit expensive. However, if a person wanted to just enjoy the all inclusive during the duration of their stay, it's absolutely doable. Hope this brought clarity :)

Also, you may want to try something else that's not on the resort. The more authentic cultural experiences are off the resort.

@@fonsini01 I didn’t :( but I’ve heard they don’t ask for it anymore. I met someone that lives there, he said he wasn’t even asked to see the test. I would say have a paper copy just in case .
