We're leaving Monday for Orange Beach AL, can't wait to see the jets
I thought it was ugly then and guess what? it's still UGLY
This was the 80's. These years will never come back...
Sexy 80's cars n women
Cheezy theme song, big hair, and archery in a one piece swimsuit was pure 80s but nothing prepared me for the shot of the manual transmission.
Everyone knows the best 4th Gen Camaro is a Trans Am
Thanks for uploading. When I was 18, I had silver '75 Type LT with dual exhaust. Loved that car! Lots of fun memories!
Great yes
sucks they only had 2 horsepower lol
Car and Driver tried to do a long term test on one. They honestly reported the number of serious failures. GM forcibly took it back from them halfway through the test.
Maybe some forgot: You could build these into something hot. But just off the lot, They did not hit the spot.
Buick Motor Division and Oldsmobile Division was supposed to get their own versions of the 2nd generation F-Body, but GM shelved the plan because they felt it would have affected the sales of the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. There were Buick and Oldsmobile F-Body prototypes, but they were scrapped. It would have been interesting
Black 97 SS SLP 6 speed owner here . With 59,000 miles. 🇺🇸🏁🏁🏁🏁
I just turned 18 and bought the same car, but blue in color back in 1980. I paid 500 bucks for it from an elderly lady at an apartment complex where I worked helping my older brother mow lawn and maintain the grounds. The following year I bought the same year Pontiac Firebird from another tenant for 1300 bucks. I drove both cars for several years and sold them for double of what I paid for them. Wish I still had both cars today.
By far the best F body 1978-81... I'd love to have a 305 in a Camaro again
That’s Lloyd Bridges and his daughter Lucinda.
1990 Camaro IROC…..strike year so low production, last year for IROC so low numbers built, With 5.7 L98 engine and RPO codes G80 G92 J65 THEN highly optioned group 3….. Red was the most popular color that year, black interior was most popular Rare options are engine block heater…..Bose sound with CD player….. All 5.7 came with hard tops not T tops.
Had one!
Thank you, you’re the only video that had these taillights that wasn’t doing a whole taillight swap. Appreciate it. Bulb Model: 921
Great car. Terrible advertising. Talking about its road abilities while driving on the beach?
No that is not the sound of stock, its the same old crap as Chevelles, GTOS, Panteras, with a ford V8, The original mufflers of 74-81 Z28s were very refined, very small, just a very slight hint of uniform smooth power under the hood. Low enough to not wake the neighbors when returning their daughter home at 2am in the morning. This is just your old man, more is better, BS.
Thanks for sharing this bit of Camaro History. I bought a brand new 84 Z28 5.0 H.O. with a 5 speed Borg Warner T5. I absolutely loved everything about that car. Had it for 5 years. Red with dark grey premium interior. Fast car in it's day. Beat a lot of 5.0 mustangs and surprised a lot of other guys too.
The crookedcross 71
Not enough love for the LT1s. The LS fan boys are vocal but really don't know what they are talking about for the most part, IMO.
Ah, back in the day when you could park right next to the tennis court to show off your car and guard it from thieves. 😂
Pure Muscle Car goodness.
I've got 70 RS with original drivetrane (set to the side). Got it in 1990 and still love it❤
I was 7yrs old when i saw the new 85' iroc-z in the dealership showroom next to a corvette and i was in awe of its killer styling and looks....loved them ever since....GM couldnt have done better in how it looks
Good luck driving a Camaro on sand lol
The L69 with the 5 speed was faster than the LB9 auto. And cheaper. I know. I've owned and raced both back in the day.
I got a 2002 B4C ❤️💯
I bought a 84 z28 a few years back currently working on putting a remanned engine in the with cam and other bolt ons
You nailed the A-7 Corsair. Next to that is the T-37 Tweet, then the F-100 Super Saber and the last one you said was a trainer is a T-38 Talon, used for advanced fighter/bomber training of student pilots. Many of us Air Force pilots trained in the T-37 and T-38. Great car, btw!
What exhaust?
98 to 02 for me 💪
love these old Camaro ads... keep them coming!
It definitely wasn't a powerhouse but a damn good looking ride.
Nobody notices or cares if you desmog them to wake them up ;3
I’ve always been a Pontiac guy, but the 80 and 81 Z-28 was a great looking car.
I think it was 190hp with the 350. Powerhouse for 81.
Love it! Love the story too.
1 of 13000
I know that car
You think that's low production look at the zl1 stage 1 ,2 ,3 gmmg
This was better than the first gen, IMO. Too bad the 70's being the 70's had to crush the potential this car and its Firebird sister had.
It has been 3 years since you posted this video...got any updates for us?
I can make an updated vid soon. Not a whole lot has changed, over 100 are salvage now and 47 overseas.
Nice cam, sure would like to know the specs on it and the engine.

no reverse lights. LED tail lights are quite nice if you like aftermarket. Looks clean.
Love the info nice research
I’m selling a 2014 black one. Anyone interested? 7k miles on it. Excellent condition.
Month ago I bought a fully loaded red 2002 35th Anni Z28 6 speed. With 17000 original miles off the original owner. (I remember when he bought it new) It's been garage kept it's whole life. (with 3 other Camaros and a few Vettes). Car is in perfect showroom time capsule condition. Bonus is the intercooled supercharger, longtube headers, Borla exhaust and Hotchkis suspension. It's a sleeper, car looks totaly stock. I don't even want to say the deal I got on it. Wasn't looking for one but the guy just asked me one day if I want it. Wasn't advertised he didn't want to sell it to a stranger. He said make me a ridiculous offer so I did and he said deal ! I love it. Took it on a 1500mile road trip had no issues at all. It also looks great in the garage parked next to the red 91' Z28 1LE I bought 30 years ago.
