Is this the waterfall near the cañada shopping center?
There are 2 places with waterfalls close to La Cañada. In this video, both of them are visited. Just remember that these waterfalls only have water after a period of rain and in summertime they're completely dry.
Is it easy to get to this hike's starting point from Tarifa?
It's a bit remote and the dirt track leading to the starting point could be tricky after rain.
The views are wonderful from there!
I agree, the views were the highlight of this trek. If you want even better views, the summit to La Concha de Marbella is much harder but will get you the best views, as if you're standing on the top of the world. :-)
@BartVanThienen Le encantó
No lo dudo. :-)
Bonito vídeo y bien explicado como siempre. Vaya espectáculo de colores. Enhorabuena por las tomas y la narración.
Gracias :-) Fue un día fenomenal para pasear por allí, los colores y la luz eran perfectos.
Interesting, a pity it's a bit far away from the coast.
It is indeed, but it can be reached by train, which is quite cheap, and there are a few places in the village to stay for a couple of nights.
Amazing scenery, those trees are quite special.
Yes, thanks, those oak trees are unique for this area.
nice views! Is it a family walk or are there better alternatives?
Excellent views indeed. :-) This walk is a bit complicated at times so you might find something easier on apps like wikiloc.
A tough walk, it seems.
Tough indeed because of the distance and lack of oxygen.
interesting hike. Strange that so little is left of the Roman city.
I agree, just one tower and a few outer walls makes you wonder where all the rest of this city has gone. Maybe some future excavations might answer this question.
Interesting video, great landscapes
Glad you enjoyed the video. :-)
The colour of those cliffs is surprising.
It is, I haven't seen anything of that colour elsewhere yet.
I love Ronda. :-)
So do I. ;-)
Lovely clouds in this video.
I was quite lucky with the weather that day as the forecasts warned of rain but I escaped most of it. :-)
Amazing views
Indeed!
It’s not a mountain landscape, but it also has its charm. Let me recommend you Punta del Boquerón path.
Good advice, I added the Punta del Boquerón path to my wish list. :-)
Interesting video, what the origin of the name of this region alcala de los gazules ?
Thanks :-) The region got its name from the castle, which was built by the Arabs between the 12th and 13th centuries, when the place was named Qalat al-Jazula, or Castle of the Gazules.
@ not arab but amazigh gazula is my region in the south of morocco , thanks for your request You can search on Google : قبيلة جزولة
@ yea Almoravid and almohad dynasty they were amazigh berber
Very nice views and the waterfall was surprisingly beautiful.
Yes it was, it's one of my favourite walks. :-)
Informative video. Any guidance to do your walk?
A number of these walks can be found on apps like Wikiloc, you can pick and choose which one suits you best.
Interesting option for our next stay, never thought about this before I saw your video.
Glad it was helpful!
0-) following your channel for some time and you keep surprising us with unexpected content!
Glad to hear that!
Very interesting. I had no idea of these things so close to the coast before I watched your video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good capture of a little known area.
Thanks :-) Although this area is public property, it is necessary to get a permit to access it.
Great stuff, thansk for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
How difficult is it to get to this place and are there any entry restrictions?
There is s decent road to the parking areas at the entrance of the torcal. It is a winding mountain road as the torcal is quite far away from major cities. There are no entry restrictions and no fees to be paid to access the torcal.
Amazing landscapes! How close is this to Jimena?
It is in a quite remote area so you will need a car to get to the start point of this walk.
Stunning footage!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The amount of unknown heritage in those mountains is surprising. Very informative video, keep them coming!
Thanks, will do!
The guns up there are massive, some real effort must have gone in them being installed there.
As far as I know, these were the biggest calibre guns in use during the second world war.
Nice video. Is it easy to get there?
Yes, it is. No public transport though, so you will need a car to get there.
It's surprising that there is such a lot of WW2 heritage around this area.
Around 500 bunkers and fortresses were built along this coast during and after world war 2.
It seems like pretty rough terrain, is there something more easy for families with kids?
Yes, the Sierra de las Nieves has an abundance of options for leisurely walks. It is mountainous terrain, though, so decent trekking shoes are needed.
Those cliffs are quite impressive!
That's right, they are some of the highest coastal cliffs in the Iberian peninsula.
An interesting little village.
It definitely is with its variety of historical monuments and several restaurants for a good meal. :-)
It looks like there's not much left of this castle.
You're correct, the castle's access is quite difficult and only a few walls remain. It was a nice day though for a countryside walk, so we enjoyed it. :-)
The hand and ball monument looks like it can do with some maintenance...
It looks dilapidated indeed. Most of the moving panels on the hand have been blown off by the strong winds and the ball, which was supposed to rotate, is completely stuck.
Very impressive, how do you find all these unknown places?
Thank you. :-) I use the rainy days in winter, and too hot days in summer, to check out what walks other people have done and the articles local newspapers publish about the interesting sites in their area.
How easy/difficult is it to get to the top?
There are several ways to the top from different starting points. In general it is quite hard because of the distance and tough terrain.
As autumn is approaching, what would be the best time to enjoy this walk?
The leaves start to change colour from mid-November, reaching its full splendour in the last days of the month.
¿Es difícil llegar a este lugar con un coche normal?
Hay caminos de tierra bien mantenidos que llegan a las puertas del castillo.
Rough and tough, a hike which is high on my bucket list thanks to your video!!!
A tough walk, that's for sure, but well worth the sweat for its amazing landscapes.
WOW and thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! :-)
Interesting video about Granada's hidden corners.
Glad you enjoyed it. :-)
That story about the dam is quite incredible.
I thinks so too. An awful lot of effort and money must have gone in this project, only to find out that it would never work...
Going there in a few weeks. Thanks for the interesting guidance.
Glad to hear that my video was useful. :-)
Superb hike, you must have enjoyed this one. I would have.
I did! It was a long trek with a noticeable lack of oxygen but the views were worth the effort.
Moody, love it!
The fog was unexpected and not according to the weather forecasts but did indeed add a refreshing touch to the walk. :-)
I've been following your channel for some time. It keeps amazing me how much WWII heritage is still there, apparently without any conservation.
Hi Matt, I agree with you. Most of this WW2 heritage is in remote areas and difficult to access because of it.
It's surprising that there is so much outside of the skiing resort.
Yes indeed. Hard to get to these areas at times which probably explains why few people get there. ;-)
