Hi, I believe TFT_eSPI library use hardware SPI? If that's the case, I am afraid you can not use this library because TFT_CS is not connect to the PCB, So you can only use software SPI. we didn't measure the temp, It should be around 60-70 degree, Indeed it's hot and it's nature for this chip during normal operation. For 9" tft display with small hdmi driver board, It should be almost the same.
