haven't played drakengard, huh? good! don't! drakengard is a horrible experience! i went through it myself as my first game in the franchise prior to playing the nier raid in ffxiv, and i wish i could recover the time i spent getting all that bullshit for ending e! that being said, drakengard 3 is much more bearable. i just was not very invested in its cast, nowhere near as the replicant cast.

Arc Rise Fantasia is my favorite game of all time. I'm sad the localization got so little care, but it's such a genuinely amazing RPG.

I thought berseria was alright but I couldn't get into the battle system. The most memorable part of it for me was strangely the main menu with the character profile pics. It just looked so clean.

Arc Rise Fantasia's story flies off the rails which I think you would enjoy. Also the Japanese dub had skits fully voice acted so there is that too.

Feel like Sting was slightly misrepresented here. Most fans know them best for the Dept Heaven series games like Riveria, Gungnir, Knights in the Nightmare, and Yggdra Union along with the Evolution games on the Dreamcast. Also Dokapon Kingdom, which is another weird wii rpg that was skipped in this video.

hey nice to see you've added this absolute classic to your have played list i didn't like rpgs for most of my gaming life , so it wasn't till i too was a teen using emulation on the wii when i first played chrono trigger , i believe the only other kind of old school jrpg i tried before this was ff6 which i got bored very early in but chrono was so good i played it all the way almost up till the main big ending , then i got stuck on the super computer boss and dropped it for a year ~w~" but then i eventually worked my way past that and finished it also LULWUT 90$ FOR BRAINAGE 2??....

Arc rise fantasia actually sold so poorly? damn i liked the game, yeah the voice acting was bad, but the gameplay was actually really fun and strategic and not just smashing A to attack and win, no here every boss felt hard

I'm weirdly charmed by the voice acting, actaully. Everyone says it's bad (and yes, it is at times, especially when they bring actors that sound a bit bored or that one kid), but it's NOT boring, and some of it actually is kinda decent (for inexperienced VA's, anyways), so I dunno, it's that amusing at times.

28:56 it's quite funny that you think that of the PS1 version, because most of your complaints about the game are because of the changes of the remake. Baroque was designed as a slower first person game, so a lot of the mechanics just stopped make sense the moment mashing buttons became less risky and you were able to easily run past enemies.

Most I do in battle is no Armatization at all and constantly swapped seraphim when there health halfway down. I use seraph for revive and immediately get out and switch seraph and armatization again for health. Because waiting seraph always have full health and healths are share so my health never down. Working perfectly so far.

If Arc Rise had good dub I don't think I would enjoy it. I love hearing the bad voice acting, especially whenever unofficial Jerry Seinfeld talks is just pure gold. It stands out compared to other JRPGs.

I've always found it odd that more jrpgs didn't come to Wii. You always hear about how Japanese developers had a rocky transition into the HD era, but the Wii was right there. PS2 style rpgs could have continued for another generation. It strikes me as a missed opportunity. But maybe none of them would have sold.
