X.O BAND formed in the fall of 1996. What started out as a pass time for the college scene in Atlanta GA. became a movement for the students from the Washington, D.C. area (DMV) combining D.C. Maryland & Virginia. The sound was Go-Go music. This music is unique to Washington, D.C. and was created by the late great Chuck Brown between the late 60's and early 70's. With Atlanta's love for live music X.O BAND decided to walk their foot prints around the city. X.O BAND became Atlanta's first established Go-Go Band.
Since setting up themselves in Atlanta, X.O BAND has performed with or on the same ticket as renown local artist as well as national artist. Some of these artists are Mos Def, Erykah Badu, Goapele, Common Sense, Raphael Saadiq, Joi, Sleepy Brown, Killer Mike and PJ Morton. X.O BAND continues to extend their sound around Atlanta & the surrounding cities. By fusing their sound with Soul, R&B, Hip Hop, Funk, Rock and Caribbean music, X.O makes for the ultimate party band.

Can't believe Xo band is still crankin and doing there thing! I remember seeing this go-go band in the ATl way back in the 90's while attending SPC and visting my cousin who went to Morehouse. Much respect and continued success to the brothas! Keep the crank goring beyond the DC area!

congo player is unsure of his self and plays carefully with no fonfidence.He needs to be more relaxed and laid back.Him and quick need eye contact cause it seems like quick is taking his spotlight cause he aint.Im from the oldschool i played drums in the early eighties.Like Rare Essence in the late 70s to early 80s foots layed in the pocket and let Jungle Boogie have the spotlight.Lil benny and funk kept Jboogie in the spotlight.Just Saying.When quick played with Rare Essence smoke had all eyes and ears on him and quick gave it to him.Quick was foots and smoke wasJungle Boogie.Just a little constructive critisism.When you get my age and retire from gogo you know you put in good work and did your job.I have aches and joint cracks you wouldnt believe.
