Top 7 Most Shocking Cracks on Earth
While there are some places on Earth where it's easy to live, there are also spots you should stay away from, where you never know when the ground might give way beneath you.
Giant cracks blocking roads or the kind that force polar expedition teams to move their bases.
Cracks that split entire continents.
Today, we're going to talk about places like that.
The Crack in Mexico
Mexico is a country that shakes a lot.
For instance, between April and July of 2014, there were three earthquakes in Mexico, ranging from magnitude 6.6 to 7.2.
The residents thought one of those earthquakes was responsible for a huge crack that appeared in the northern state of Sonora.
On August 15th, a drone captured footage of the crack, about 1 km long, near Hermosillo.
The crack was 5 meters wide and 8 meters deep.
It crossed Route 26 between Hermosillo and the coast, so it definitely didn’t go unnoticed.
You couldn’t drive through it, and going around it was a hassle.
Where did this troublesome crack come from?
The "Gash" in Wyoming
One day in 2015, Randy Becker, while wandering around the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming, was in for a shock.
As a hunter, he knew the area well, but he didn’t expect to find a massive crack about 680 meters long and 46 meters wide.
This newly formed fissure, looking like this, was quickly given the simple, surprising name “The Crack.”
More imaginative folks started calling it “The Gash.”
Geologists believe this impressive rift in the mountain was caused by a sudden landslide.
Heavy rains may have played a role in washing away the unstable soil.
In any case, you probably shouldn’t be walking along the edge of a crack like this.
Gravity might pull a nasty trick on you.
The Dabbahu Crack
In 2005, a highly intriguing crack appeared and was soon captured by the satellite Envisat.
There was no missing the dramatic event that accompanied the formation of this crack.
On September 26th, the ground around the Dabbahu Volcano in the Danakil Desert, Ethiopia, began to swell.
This area became one of the most dangerous zones in Africa, a place to stay far away from.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.2, and 130 tremors were recorded underground.
Naturally, this unstable situation “excited” the Dabbahu Volcano, causing its first and only eruption ever recorded.
For three days, ash clouds were so dense that they darkened the skies.
But what really caught people’s attention was what appeared on the ground.
The Taita Hills
Recently, a crack appeared in Pinal County, Arizona.
Between March and December of 2014, a deep, winding crack measuring 1.5 km formed in the Taita Hills region, south of Arizona City.
Its size soon doubled, making it the longest crack in the area.
Local geological experts believe the crack's appearance is related to excessive water extraction from wells.
Due to overconsumption of water, the aquifer didn't have enough time to recharge with rainwater, causing the soil to sink and endangering homes and roads.
The total length of the cracks in the area has now reached about 17 km.
And it seems like it’s still spreading.
The Hole of Hell-Le Puits d'Enfer
Do you often lose your TV remote?
It seems like it was just in your hand, but it has fallen into a bottomless pit and will never be found again.
The people of Les Sables-d'Olonne in France believe that a hole of hell, called Le Puits d'Enfer, exists in their town.
This massive crack is about 10 meters deep and 30 meters long, and legend has it that if you fall in, you will disappear forever.
Le Puits d'Enfer is located along the Atlantic coast.
During high tide, tourists gather to watch the sea water crash against the narrow fissure in the half-sunken rock.
You might remember the old legend of the knight Thibaut.
The Antarctic Continent
The Brunt Ice Shelf in Antarctica has developed many deep cracks, which were stable until recently, so no one was too worried.
However, in 2012, the situation changed dramatically.
The cracks began to spread rapidly, forcing researchers to observe the area more closely.
It was clear that something was about to happen.
Then, on February 26, 2021, a massive chunk of ice measuring 1,270 square kilometers broke off the ice shelf.
That’s larger than the combined area of Bahrain, Andorra, Malta, and 20 other countries.
Iceberg A-74, measuring 56 km in length and 33 km in width, became one of the largest icebergs ever recorded and was placed under careful observation.
The Crack in China
On the internet, this crack has been said to have appeared after the earthquake in Turkey in 2023.
However, you shouldn't believe that.
This crack is 10 km long and is located in Pinglu County, Shanxi Province, China.
Its deepest point reaches about 100 meters, and its width can reach up to 2 km.
The cause of this crack is soil erosion on the plateau, not an earthquake.
Nevertheless, isn’t it an astonishing sight?

The Sahara Desert is known as the largest hot desert on our planet Earth. However, it hasn't always been this way throughout history. Approximately 6,000 years ago, this region experienced frequent rainfall and had a humid climate. During the era known as the "Green Sahara," northern Africa was strikingly different from the dry and barren landscape we see today. But around 5,500 years ago, a si...

It’s the largest non-nuclear bomb only due to weight. The largest non-nuclear bomb in terms of the size of the explosion would be the GBU-43, or MOAB (Massive Ordinance Air Blast). Look the puppy up.
BEST OF THE BEST

Wonder how long it takes to acquire the skills to effectively operate this? I am sure the Mrs. would not have a problem finding a parking space when shopping on Saturday.
I did have a chance to try the Cat 980c loader at 10 ton a bucket
16 cylinder 4 stroke engine… umm okay that doesn’t describe much lol what 2 liters 15 liters 40 liters?
It can do nothing if 3 meters of iron or steel , concrete cohesive force is more less
🤔 now repeat that in gallons 🤨
Yeah, but is it road legal in Rhode Island?
U need 2 how 2 operate it. Not just #
We are in the USA. Not Europe. We use inches and feet and Lbs here.
With the money of the development Carlifornia can repair all its streets
If. Memory serves me correctly. Early 2000 a bunker penetrator on a ICBM went 4000 feet into the ground (kinetic energy.)
Iran says plz no😂😂😂😂
No where to hide anymore.
Our beloved government has the GPS coordinates on your front door . They can get you any day or hour with a small bomb in your own house Hey what was that ? I don't know must have been a gas explosion. Oh but we really trust our government , don't we ?
Big digger ❤
Iran has something similar.
Is it more likely..MOAB 🤔
Re named "The Nasrallah"
Nope Israël doesn t have this last bunker buster
This is a weapon of mass destruction made to destroy weapons of mass destruction. Pretty standard, really.
Weapons of Mass Destruction...they say. 😂🙄
Metrics means most people have no idea what any of the measurements are in this clip. When they start spewing metrics I flip the screen.
"most people" : 95% of the world uses metrics, dude. Get over it and learn. I'll give you a hand : 3 feet = 1 meter 61 meters = 61 x 3 = 180 + 3 = 183 feet Don't say you can't learn it. For the sake of being able to convert US cooking recipes, I learned the imperial system. Handicap : I have dyscalculia.
Most people... including the US military use metric.
STANDARD UNITS STANDARD UNITS
These kind of military shit kills thousands of civilians in underground shelters
Tallboy 2.0 ;-)
I don't like videos that uses metric measurements.

This is bs. There is tons of info on it.
On the animation drawing at 24-26 sec it reads 60' (feet), whitch is much more likely, not meters. Still very impressive.
60 feet is 18.3 metres, it's the same.
Penetrate hee hee
While people starve, mad men.
Nope, while terrorists who've stolen billions in AID from the very people for whom it was meant, to build tunnels deep underground in which to hide and store their ill gotten gains with the added protection afforded by the caged hostages they had. Sitting there believing they were safe from all the bombs the IDF could throw at them. They were so wrong. Shame Hamas didn't supply just a tiny fraction of the billions they stole to the very people they abandoned to be the human shield they were relying on keeping them safe, along with the schools and hospitals and mosques, in which some of the tons of ordinance bought with the stolen AID was stored. Then to raise even more money they sell the AID, supplied to the Gazans for free, back to the Gazans and make a healthy profit that too. I hear that the word gullible will soon be removed from the dictionary, as no one is that gullible anymore?
There's always one whiner. The majority of the money goes on labour. It pays peoples wages, and, y'know, feeds people...
Is this a TellSell commercial ?
19 metres of reinforced Concrete??!!....... If True....... Incredible.
61 meters in ground or 20 in concrete is insane. You literally cant hide from this monster anywhere.WoW.😮
And with the accuracy available today they can drop another down the same hole if the first one didn't go deep enough.
Price ?
The R37 hypersonic missile entered service in 2019. The mako missile was revealed this year. It’s not the first hypersonic missile. In fact this is one of the few technologies that Russia is actually ahead of the US.
They pulled this tech off the shelf. It's been there for a couple of decades. You can't beat DARPA, college students are getting funding as part of such projects, and this all combined to create the best of the best.
Lol the kinzhal and zircon entered service in 2018
Kinzhal is a garbage air launched ballistic missile and has been proven ineffective. The Zircon hasn’t even been used in combat, it’s typical Russian vaporware like the T-14 and SU-57.
Gahkas hai CAT 995
It’s same size as 994 just has a bigger bucket
exact !
Seems that way to me and we have that 57 yard bucket option on our machine.. plus the engine output is really similar.. I guess to claim worlds largest loader just add a few pounds 😆😅
I'm a redneck American and I don't do the metric system.
