Those who enter these races should be aware of the risks involved, including the drivers of the cars Speed rammed into, whom he most likely wasn't didn't even have the intent to kill. For all we know, Speed could've been simply trying to get the other guys out of the way, but the latter couldn't regain control of their cars before crashing. Hell, the other drivers were trying to murder Speed in many instances, meaning he was acting in self-defense! Not to mention, many people on the show are killed in races, often not by Speed, but by the bad guys or their own hand. Of course he “gets away with it.” It’s part of the sport…and a matter of survival.
