It feels like we have lost so many baseball legends these last few years. On Thursday, we lost one of the greatest, Mr. Baseball himself, Bob Uecker.

Hi, I'm Joe Posnanski, and this is my new JoeBlogs TH-cam Channel. JoeBlogs is my newsletter/website where I write about sports and whatever else comes to mind . Hoping to bring some of that vibe here stories, interviews, clips from The PosCast I do with Mike Schur, who even knows?
Never expected the "I wrote a book" gag to be about Mike's book.
Anyone else spend way too much time imagining Michael’s hair on Joe’s head? Only me? Cool, cool.
Top video
Mike getting a lot of cred with the Jeff Mangum Live at Jittery Joe's album in the back!
@1:18:52 for the magic moment of Mike opening ***redacted***.
Nice WNBA sweatshirt. I have the black sweatshirt with the orange logo.
I love this! I like the video much better than audio only. You guys are ridiculous, and I’m 100% here for it!
I believe the Topps cards design that Joe and Mike hate at about the 38th minute is the 1994 line. I have something of a soft spot for that line as my dad bought me almost the entire set that year and remains the largest collection of any line I have.
I just contributed twice to get the Pinehurst 4-some.
Thanks for having us! Thanks also for the event in London. Open invite next time you are this side of the Atlantic, a guided tour of Ruislip. We will eschew hot fruit and diet coke, but we might be persuaded to lay on a duck a l'orange for Brandon, and maybe some competitive power washing.
As soon as you said "What day?" my stomach dropped to the floor. As a one-time sportswriter and news reporter, I have been here.
And then you said Belk was their top advertiser, and my stomach is in the basement.
GET LOST. You ARE STEALING the name of the REPUTABLE blogger. SCUMBAG
30:49 Roy Thomas! He was our team's pitching coach when I played at Bellevue Community College in the late 1980s. Through his connections, we had Bill Caudill work out with us one time and Harold Reynolds another time. Reynolds worked out with us in the fall of 1988 to prepare for the MLB-Japan All Star Series. He got beaned by our pitching machine.
Good video, terrible audio.
I think that qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment by your sports editor. Belk couldn’t hang a sign on the door or something? How did you stay in the business after that?
“I have no personal animosity against Joe Morgan” - Ken Tremendous, 1/20/2025
You guys look like you’re honestly having so much fun!
Thank you for having us, Joe
We are all blessed to have “his” shared with us. H we could make the good Lord laugh.
I feel like you should have mentioned that Glenn Burke was the first major league player to come out as gay and also has been credited with creating the high five along with Dusty Baker. I was saddened that you didn't think to say anything about him.
Love seeing Zack back there on the wall. Thank you for making some very bad Royals' seasons more enjoyable!
Great story! Looking forward to this series.
hi, Joe... i'm the SF girl now Hamburg, read your blog daily... cool story, thumbs #18, subbed your channel 🙂 wanted to listen earlier when you first wrote of it but have been bedridden since last Thurs eve (it's now Wed eve)
Great story!
Tell a story about loving Imos pizza
If that ever happens, you will know I am being held hostage.
What are humbling story. Thanks for sharing that and I look forward to more videos like this and hopefully with more successes to come.
Cal Ripken was more deserving of being unanimous than Maddux.
Bud Selig thought the world of Bob, there will never be another like him. Thank you for the memories and thank you for sharing. I hit the like button and subscribed.
Get up get up get outta here GONE
Not only one of the funniest athletes of all time, but one of the funniest gentlemen of all time!
So psyched, Joe!
So many tributes & so well deserved.⚾️🥲⚾️🥲⚾️🥲⚾️
Uecker rivals Harry Carey's game announcements
Wow! I love your guys work!! Been a longtime listener, happy to now become a longtime viewer!!
That opening part about "it feels like we're losing...", well yes, and lately it's been more than a feeling. Just look at, say, Bill James' top 40 all-time players from 2001. We might expect their deaths to be spread from about 1940 to about 2060, so that would be about one death every three years. But we've actually had three of the 40 dying in the last seven months: Mays in June, Rose in September, Rickey in December. Random times sometimes coincide, but three in seven months is a lot.
I enjoyed reading "Houdini", "Why We Love Baseball", "Why We Love Football". Houdini pulled them all together - it's all a sense of wonder at what people can do. Thank you - but that picture of the 1964 Cardinals with Bob Gibson holding hands with Bob Uecker gave me a hernia.
Joe!! You look so great!!
Need to fix your speaker. Too quiet.
Sorry to say this Joe, but she's right. You need to listen to her more.
the volume is way too low
Longtime listener first time watcher
That Mike Mussina Orioles card at around the 36 minute mark is fantaaaastic. O's fan here, still grieving the 2nd half of his career.
I was half-expecting the first video episode would visually resemble a 1950s TV broadcast in quality and color.
"The way to catch a knuckleball is to wait until it stops rolling and then pick it up." ⚾️
Well said, Joe. I feel lucky to have spent my whole life listening to his calls. He made listening to a lopsided Brewers loss worth it still due to his stories, jokes and love of the game.
Sound level is very low
Terrible. That might be his fault.
Looking behind you, Joe, it seems you have written two books. You should tell people about these things!
Woah finally the first ever podcast has video now!!!
You mean the 121st podcast?
@calebhawkins2810 Nahh i mean first as in the first podcast to ever exist in general, since the first poscast happened in the late 70s without microphones no one else was doing it yet. Also first as in americas #1 sports podcast, of course
Hey, congratulations on your channel. Hope it grows,😀
You need to promise to post your commentary on Infomercials, and now, random TH-cam clips
Glad to see you are on you tube, but still waiting for you to respond to my 1960 Pirates/ Yankees world series project...Please get back to me Thank you!
