That truck rips, i was also thinking of the 800kv, but i went with a max5 and their 1100kv , im now at 29pinion and 39spur but with a huge gan on my motor that i run off a tiny 2000mah 3s , casue it gets so hot in fl
I would save jumps like that for a cheapo truck. What did you expect???

What is the difference in 8s vs 6s (with a larger pinion gear)...wont they technically perform the same?
@@rogerrabbit7469 two totally different high speeds. Totally different Accelerations, it performs way different way harder on the diffs and drivetrain

@@rogerrabbit7469 I haven't tried 8s on mines yet, but from what I understand you can use two 4,000 mah 4S batteries without modification
If you're going to do this, you need to put 500k in the center 200k up front and 100k in the rear so your diffs will last a couple runs
GOOD POINT!
Put 60wt silicone shock oil in front 70wt in the rear, add 200k diff fluid in center diff 50k in front 30k in the rear get you some belted Katars and thank me later this will help with the rear end being so whirly in the sand also the shock fluid will help so you don't bottom out because that thing bottoms out as you're going over terrain the stock shock oil I think is 30k
advantage for the diff fluids? im running 80wt with stiffer springs, she still bottoms out but not nearly as bad. i find my exb with max6 and gens ace basher pack definitely on the heavier side. Ive got some dumont sand paddles for snow (they rip hard) i couldnt imagine on sand

Nice ride brou. Great idea of the 800kv. Works awesome wit 39/30. Just a heads up. I would put a EXB front bumper on it. Much more protection In front landings. And it works like a sled action.

Was everything bone stock on your xrt in this video? Looks like it has some pretty decent speed. I have an xrt that's been sitting in the closet that I'm gonna put it mine soon. Haven't even ran it yet. Do you think it's worth the price tag? Did you test the top speed with the speed gearing?

Yup, that's what happened to both my XLX2 ESCS. The bullet comes off the board. Castle blamed it on my 35/47 gearing and poor soldering job on my QS8. I don't buy it. They noticed 500 amp spikes when they tested the ESCS. They warrantied one and they charged me $140 to get me another one. Ever since I've gone to 30/47 gearing, shorter motors and smaller jumps, the XLX2 are working fine now. I would have gone with the Max 5 if I knew what I know now. That the XLX2 is not that good for hardcore bashing IMHO 👍

You should put the front O8S EXB bumper. It bolts right on! I would also put some CF tubing around those chassis braces so that they don't bend so easily 👍

That motor has way too much torque for the drivetrain. And it fails with big jumps after around a year since it doesn't have support in the rear. That's been my experience. I went with a smaller 5687 HW motor and lowered my gearing to 30/47 in my K8S. After doing both of those things, my K8S has been more reliable and it breaks less. I was having diff issues with that giant motor. I would never buy another motor like that again. Overpriced for what it offers. I think it's better for the bigger trucks like the losi 5t and other huge trucks that don't get jumped too high. That's been my experience after like two years. Great bashing 👍

In my experience, I’ve had pretty good luck with castle esc’ so had one xlx2 catch fire 🔥 it was replaced by castle, Ive owned 5 xlx2 no issues , Also your wires are loose flapping inside the rig on hard hits and landings , I ruined a few lipos like that wire ripped out the lipo, and I’ve seen people have problem with that issue you just had happen , I always make sure all my wires are tight and under Velcro or zip tied to something so they don’t flap around inside the rig and add unnecessary stress to the electrical components, good luck with the warranty it sucks that happened Secure your wires moving forward

I had issues with my XLX2 ESCS. The bullets going into the board came off. Castle blamed my 35/47 gearing on both my Outcast 8s and EXB K8S. So I got a replacement, on both vehicles and I now run 30/47 gearing. So far, the XLX2 has been working OK. I also blew the 1100kv motor from Castle. It fell apart internally. I strongly believe it was the chassis slapping, so I replaced it with the 5687 motor from HW. That motor has been running strong on my X-Maxx for over 3 years! So yeah, I trust the shorter motors for long term durability. My experience 👍

@@slomango7927 nope brand new shock shafts. From what someone said you don’t want it to push back out but then I hear ppl do want rebound. So I got one with rebound and one without to see what works best for me. One I mean my castle sledge vs stock sledge
@@MIHfishing you have air in your shock. It shouldn’t rebound with no spring on it. Do you have a air bleeder screw at the top?
@@slomango7927 I do I got them to not rebound my other sledge has rebound on them. Doing my xrt now got two done no rebound the other two slight rebound letting the other two sit longer before putting cap back on. The Traxxas caps has a hole on them to let air out. My one with rebound has hit racing caps with bleeder screw may open them up
It looked like the (6s) fire team(?) was more of blast and handfull than those big 8s trucks...
yes the fireteam is a handfull alot more power and control
@2:40 somebody has to watch their kid. If the tire will blow or a driver error you can hit that kid realy ugly
Have they came out with clear bodies for the XRT yet? I can't wait to be able to custom the XRT body. I just finished painting my 56 Ford body for my X-Maxx. Red with black flames. Looks Wick'd yo. Can't wait for the clear body to come out for the XRT so I can do a custom paint job on it.
