I think the only real mistake this video made was showing him inserting multiple types of plastic into the shredder as he put in. High density polyethylene plastic from a milk bottle , peg plastic from a soda bottle and finally transparent plastic most likely nylon. You don't want to mix your material open your recycling plastics or anything else for that matter. And melting down nylon to the temperature you would need to in order to turn it into 3D printing filament would release chlorine gas and kill you and it absorbs so much water you can't really do it outside like a vacuum chamber . Great idea but overly simplified unrealistic as presented here

I do think this is a step in the right direction but it's a bit overly simplified for what you actually need to do great commercial though and really good idea. It would even work very well if you suck too only a specific type of plastic like peg from water bottles and soda bottles. As we already had the techniques to strip that down and refine it into usable plastic for 3D printing filament.

That's not really how home recycling would work as only a handful of common plastics can be recycled at home. HDPE, LDPE , PEG and PLA. You would not want to mix the plastic like this either and recycling nilon aka most clear plastic at home will kill you becouse it creates chlorine gas.

Refuse reuse and recycle should only be our last resort . Spe d the time to develop non plastic containers.

Nice shirt :D also what if other contrys added money if you deliver back the bottle? i dont know what contry have it outside north europa(Scandinavia) but we get some money if you deliver the sode can or soda bottle back to the store, its a nice bonus especially for the poor :D

I’m concerned that it makes cheap pointless items and must use a great deal of electricity. If it could make a household item that we need every day, like toilet paper, it would be worth it, but you cant flush plastic down the loo. Rather we bought/made less plastic, and you invent a recycle cardboard toilet paper making machine?

The consumer is in control. As long as we buy it , they'll make it. WE need to stop buying anything sold in plastic

It's oversimplified concept. You have to sort different plastics, wash them, shred them, melt them, extrude them into filaments and after that you can print new thing.

This convent will not be far off a reality
