    What do you do if you are getting the hard shadows on the wall behind people giving speeches? In other words, what do those shadows tell you about your settings being wrong?

    • @salazarphotofilm
      @salazarphotofilm 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      honestly without me seeing exactly the size of the room, ceiling and also the colors of the day is impossible to give you an exact setting, but basically if the off camera light is giving shadows on walls I would either switch the angle of it or lower the power significantly and just increasing the ISO to let more ambient light come in. I hope that answers your question :)

    Not bad ... not bad... you are still lighting up your walls and there is no uplighting. The back flip photo could use more separation between dance floor and back ground. That is why I tend to use 4 flashes on stands...all grid'd. I get the 1/60th shutter speed...but I see too much blurriness - me... 1/125-1/160. Sometimes I am covering weddings with performances. but then again depends on the ambient level. At least you are not using umbrellas...LOL. or soft boxes . End of the day... if this style works for you and the clients are happy.... nice.

  • @guyphoto9437
    @guyphoto9437 ปีที่แล้ว

    One question. You talked about not wanting your flash to bounce off walls, so you use the grid on your AD300s. However, when you shoot the bridal couple at the table, etc. you bounce the V1 off of walls behind you. So, my question is: Aren't you defeating the purpose of trying to avoid bouncing lights off walls with the AD300s when you bounce flash from the V1 off the walls?

    • @salazarphotofilm
      @salazarphotofilm ปีที่แล้ว

      If the couple asks me for a group photo things change for sure. At that point I just want everyone to be lit as best as possible. So yeah I might have some spill to the walls, but it all depends on the situation. I also have an AD200 on a cheetah stand in case I need a mobile off camera flash

    This was a great video! Loved the venue! OMG! Also, loved your colors! Do you use a particular preset? I have a Canon R6 and R6 II. I find sometimes that my skin tones look muddy. I have since changed my settings to mimic your wedding settings video. I’m hoping that helps. Either way, I’d love to know how you edit because your colors are what I’m looking for! Thank you! Look forward to your channel growing! Best of luck! ❤

    I’m assuming you don’t use back button focus? Can you tell me (I realize you did for one) how each of the three buttons are assigned in custom settings? Did you ever have trouble with skin tones being off? I’m going to adjust like you did and see if that helps. O shoot with the Canon R6 and R6 II. Thanks for the video!

    • @salazarphotofilm
      @salazarphotofilm ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! I do not use the back button focus. That’s just force of habit and personally I don’t find that I need it thankfully. The first button on the right let’s me change from face detect to spot metering or any other. Then I got the aspect ratio button. The third one I change from one shit to servo. This should have totally be in the video 😅. And yes, when I got the R5 at first the skin tone was off and that’s why I changed it to these settings. One thing I totally forgot to add is that for the color profile I use Adobe RGB. Since I edit on Lightroom classic. These settings can totally work on your R6s. I hope you find it fitting to your style 🙏🙏

    I use Fuji cameras for weddings and mainly (in full frame terms) a 35mm and a 50mm most of the time. And so happy that i have upgraded my 50mm equivalent to the wide open version at Fuji f1.4 (vs. f2 before). And i feel i will use the 50mm more and more because it's so versatile and you get more blurred background than with the 35mm.

    Great video, and I love the 50mm and 85mm focal length. I want to get my first L lens but since I do weddings I don't know if I should go with the 50 or the 28-70 as my 1st. I don't want the 24-70 cause it only goes down to 2.8 and I'm already spoiled by primes and love the prime look. Being that you love primes which one would you recommend first? I've already rented and used both at a few weddings.

      Salazar is using 2 lights for OCF. other setup include 4 or even 5 Off Camera Flash. 5 I say... yes. think of flash on stands at every corner of the dance floor and 1 above as a rim light. this depends on the venue. back to 4 OCF setup... lights at the 4 corners of the dance floor. Now you have a big area covered with flash. You an cover the entire floor with minimal dead spots. all flashes at same power to start. since you should be using wireless control, you can adjust as needed. say the DJ has supper bright lights. then to 2 by the DJ can be turned down.
