    If you do more work than you're required to, you're screwing yourself over, because your boss could promote you and lose, let's say 20% of the current work production, or he could promote your lazy coworker and lose just 10%

    It has bad “branding?” Hon it is bad. HR is a corporations own secret police. It’s due to you we have to suffer through that stupid Myers-Briggs test (which is as valid as astrology). It’s you that finds new ways to keep wages low and creates conditions to fire people. Your entire value to the company is how you can harm employees enough to extract maximum value from them while stringing them along. It’s HR that invented bigger hiring budgets than retention budgets and mandatory fun that no one wants to do and trainings designed to set employees against each other. It’s HR that reads headlines and comes up with the dumbest “initiatives” designed to make employees respond to whatever is happening in headlines. HR sucks and no one likes you except the CEOs who are glad to pay lower wages and increase hours and track employees with software and all the other crap you HR people do. Edit: And I’ve thought of some more! HR is the one who thought up seven rounds of interviews instead of just interviewing with the person we will be working under. HR invented posting jobs to job boards that they never intended to fill so that way people apply to them and just waste their time when they’re doing a job search. HR is responsible for the formerly incarcerated being discriminated against. HR invented requiring a college degree for jobs that didn’t need one.

    • @GuustoGifts
      @GuustoGifts 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      See this is an interesting take to me, because whilst yes, work is a transactional relationship where we're expected to complete things within our job description - saying thank you is basic manners. To see saying thank you to a person as being a kiss ass, is giving a message that people should get used to feeling unappreciated and under valued at work. I know I primarily go to work for the paycheque, we all do, but I'm going to stay in the job that makes me feel appreciated and helps me grow, both in my career and financially.

    Apparently that last boss there doesn't quite understand the concept of one person wanting money and being able to do labor, another person wanting labor done and being able to pay money, and the two of them agreeing to make the exchange. If his employees go by his reasoning then they could just as easily respond by telling him that he should look at anything they do on the job as a personal favor to him since they're doing it with their own free time.

    My company gives awards for the 5, 10, 15, etc. year marks. They forgot my 5 years work anniversary and did nothing when I mentionned it. Granted, it was during the pandemic, but they could have a least give me a greeting card. Now new people are reaching the 5 years milestones and they celebrated them today and I'm so upset and I feel demobilized.

    Never ever ever quit to prevent yourself from getting fired because you just never know or at least most people don’t know that most of the Atwill employment still Hass to be a legal reason. Obviously things like racism or sexism come to mind as Waze that it would be illegal to fire you but just because they say they’re firing you for one reason doesn’t mean they’re not obviously firing you for something else. A classic example of this would be Your boss making advances towards you, or your manager, and you continually rejecting them and then all of a sudden you start getting written up for poor performance and fired because of all of your write up. But the entire office knows that that specific manager or boss has done this before. Just because those people won’t speak up N-word doesn’t mean when they get subpoenaed to court they’re not gonna speak up when they’re on the stand. Because once you initiate the court proceedings against the person with the attorney who specializes in that kind of stuff every single one of those employees are also protected from retaliation and it’s likely that the company is going to fire the manager and cut you a check and rehire you

    • @GuustoGifts
      @GuustoGifts 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You make a really great point, but in some cases, people don't have the time or resources to go through a legal route. It can be better for their mental health to leave a toxic job and find a new one. Hopefully one that treats them with respect!

  • @DaddyVet3D
    @DaddyVet3D 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That guy made a huge mistake by quitting he should’ve allowed his boss to fire him and then taking him to court for firing him illegally and got a big fat settlement check on top of sticking it to his boss one last Time in front of a judge. And obviously it’s a judgment if you were in court or Sarah mann if they want to keep it out. That is one of the most clear-cut cases of an illegal reason to fire somebody that I’ve ever seen.
