Hope you liked it. Ive lived here my whole life but i still freak out and cry at the beautiful sites. I live in tacoma. Surrouned by water and mountains 😭✨️💚👌
Aawwwww! I loved the fox! That is a very pretty walk. Thanks!
Yup, beautiful state and liberals are ruining it.
good tip
Thanks!
Great video. May attempt a summit this week! What watch is that you’re using?
Thank you! It’s the Suunto Race S here’s a link to it. www.avantlink.com/click.php?tool_type=cl&merchant_id=e295c418-295a-447c-b265-734e25f82503&website_id=196fa35e-063c-4bda-9bff-fb7550a5fbe8&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rei.com%2Fproduct%2F243463%2Fsuunto-race-s
Super jealous of yalls gear room 😮
It so nice having it all easy to access on the shelves I’m glad we had space in the basement.
Pretty close to ours. I'd add gallon Ziploc bags for leftovers, and a reusable tablecloth for picnic tables if you're at a campground.
Those are both great additions! Thank you!
Goodrs are the best!!
We love them!
Your videos are so helpful. Thanks.
Thank you! We are glad to help!
Another great video! I'm a big fan of yalls channel, and was super excited for a longer form video. Hope this winter is a good one for yall. I'm just doing some smaller overnighters and two nighters this winter, but I'm super excited for this year.. I already have my permits, campsites reserved, and vacation put in at work for mid May.. I'm going to do the 42ish mile hike at pictured rocks national lakeshore in Michigan's upper peninsula! Super excited.
Thank you so much we really appreciate it! Those sound like some awesome plans we have heard that that area is incredible and it’s definitely on our bucket list. We hope you have an amazing year as well!
Eastern wa! We don’t like crazy politics on this side of the mountain. If you move over here, leave your liberal BS where you came from. Sincerely, Everyone outside of Seattle/Tacoma
Haha we aren’t planning on moving but we also aren’t really into politics at all we spend all our time planning our outdoor adventures.
Washington very similar to Denver but with a ton more natural water
So true! There are so many mountains to explore and it’s all so green!
Always stop by the local shops over big chains like Starbucks. Some of the best coffee shops/bakeries I've found are hidden gems
We love finding local shops in small towns they are always the best!
Luv it!! The weather I mean😉
You like camping in the rain?
@ I absolutely Luv Lighting and Thunder and that usually comes with rain … So if I have to take one to have the other , I will ✌🏼
@@rebeccafranklin9915 we like them when we aren’t backpacking but it was pretty sketchy having it that close while in a tent.
I’m so happy you got to see our beautiful scenery but I’m also so sorry you had to see Seattle
Hahaha it is so beautiful, but the traffic in Seattle was really rough.
If you think Seattle is a rough city compared to half of the US, you’re a baby dude
@ Seattle is a crack and fent infested dumpster I’ve been to plenty other states and countries lmao
Nice to hear you like Washington State. This is my home state, and it's definitely a beautiful and quite diverse landscape, from the ocean side to mountains, forest to desert with sand dunes. ❤
I really enjoy it every time I visit. We even planned a week long trip out to Washington this summer so we can explore more!
What about the afternoon thunder storms? How dangerous is it to sleep there? It looks like above a treeline.
I wouldn’t recommend staying up there if there’s a chance of thunderstorms it is above treeline. We didn’t have any storms in the forecast and saw lots of others set up up there so we took a chance and luckily we didn’t have any storms.
@the.guidebook Thank you for the answer. Is there a chance to camp somewhere close still at the tree level?
I live in seattle i used to be a travel carpenter awesome
Oh that sounds cool!
What are booties like you gonna take my booty away
What did you even do to create revenue?
I walked a site to determine if it would be a good location for a new cell site and took some photos and measurements. I didn’t show any of that because I was working and on site with the landowner and I want to be respectful to our clients. Our page is also about hiking and travel so I wanted to focus on those aspects of the day.
What did you actually do though?

Is there an AllTrails trail for this to download the map
Yes it’s called Lake Isabelle Trail (Winter) on AllTrails www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/lake-isabelle-trail-winter?sh=auehga
That seal is exactly what my truck needs, great review thank you.
No problem glad to help!
I carry a compact leaf blower and clean the outside before I ever open it up
That’s smart. Does it ever blow any dust into the bed through the cracks?
hate people moving out here to seattle it is lowkey ruining this city/ the state of washington
I don’t really know what that has to do with this video but most of the people that I’ve met out there have been really nice.
Grew up in Yakima and live in West Seattle now. I honestly never want go leave this amazing place 🔥 Definitely will live somewhere else but for now I'm here!
It’s so amazing I bet it’s a great place to live!
Warm water freezes faster
Are you also dumb too? Do you think water freezes with magic?
The Mpemba phenomenon of heat loss isn't a constant. Depending on container, size and other variables, warm water can easily freeze more slowly than cold. I just found this out recently myself after my entire family had a fight about it on Christmas 😂
Water freezes at 32 degrees so the farther from 32 degrees you are the longer it will take to cool down to that temperature most of the time. I bet there are some rare times where that isn’t true but it is true most of the time.
@@the.guidebookno. The rate of heat exchange is related to the difference between the temperatures of the objects in contact. The greater the difference in temp the faster the cooling occurs, offsetting the initially warmer starting point. See Fourier’s heating law.
@@JoeyKlu in this situation the only thing that would be varied is temperature. All else is constant.
Why take sips? Its literally moving around because ur walking. 😅
are you dumb?
More movement means less time for it to freeze, so might as well stay hydrated
It’s mainly because the more often you drink the more water you can consume before it could possibly freeze. We worded that a little weird so I understand the confusion.
Even dropping 10 psi out of your tires and bringing a portable compressor to air back up when heading back out on the highway will go long way to making your trip more comfortable for you and your dogs.
Great point. I pretty much only air down for really difficult trails but I should start doing it more often to make the ride more comfortable.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas!
Who is the target audience for this?
Whoever wants to watch it.
What kind of engineer
Civil and I work in telecommunications.
Day in the life of an engineer, tells us absolutely nothing associated with his job besides travel
That’s a good point. I’m so used to site visits that I didn’t even realize other people wouldn’t understand that I was doing one. I didn’t show what we actually did on site because I was working and there were other people there so I wanted to respect their privacy. For most of these visits we just get eyes on the site and take photos and measurements so we can complete construction drawings for the project.
Not many people get to see the absolutely breathtaking views of Washington while here on business, usually they get to see the mountains while taking off from the airport after staying in the city. I hope you loved it as much as we do.
I’m so glad I had time to hike snow lake it was incredible and Leavenworth was gorgeous as well i absolutely loved it!
@@the.guidebook I knew that was Blewett watching the video! You were very close to my hunting grounds. It's such a magical place 🥰
Sooo, what were you there to do engineering for…
I was there to get eyes on a possible new telecom site on a mountain and photograph the area along with lines of site. We also had to measure out the site in the location to see if we had enough space.
Leave natural selection to do its thing
People don’t understand that we still have to work. The commute just requires a taxi, a plane and a rental car. Yes we get to be in a new city and state. But at the job site it’s still work. The travel part takes a toll on you and yes you get time to yourself. I just came back from a work trip from Nashville to Seattle. That drained me with the time zone change and having to meet the clients at 6:00am CST.
This is so true. The time zone changes and late nights and early mornings take a toll.
Respect for you to go hiking before a flight. Specially that SeaTac is one of the worst airports
Thank you. Honestly I probably shouldn’t have done that because traffic was way worse than I expected and I got to my gate right before boarding started.
reminds me the time i drank from a stream, and after following it for a for hundred meters i found a dead cow rotting in it 🤢
Oh dang that’s nasty. Did you get sick?
Water around red snow is a no. The algae isn’t dangerous- though it may give you a stomachache- but but because the red algae is an easily accessible nutrient, it is often full of parasites and worms. In the Rockies, you have to boil all water so you don’t get Giardia cysts. At high elevations, you have to salt the water as well if you are cooking so it doesn’t all evaporate before it hits the standard boiling point. At 10K elevation, the boiling point of water is about 20F lower than at sea level, which means it’s going to boil off completely before it gets hot enough for long enough to reliably kill parasites.
Thank you so much for the additional info!
Today I learned that glacial flour was a thing.
I did too when I was reading info about alpine lakes to make this video lol.
💯 I was hiking in the Tatras in Poland with 10 companions and most of us drank from a stream because signs said it was safe. I got really bad salmonella poisoning and lost 10 pounds in a week.
Hahahahahahaha
You relied on a sign to tell you it was safe. You sweet, darling summer child.
Oh dang I’m sorry I bet that was terrible.
@@wowthungsten ain't it true...youth is wasted on the young - in part because there's so much they don't know better! So much energy, yet most of it wasted...
Large bodies of water in alpine areas don’t usually go stagnant and it’s not really still water as it has some convection, inflows and outflows. They are the cleanest places to swim in comparison to other land water bodies I’d say. (Unless your country has some very very clean rivers)
But cheers for the drinking advice
That’s a good point the stuff about stagnant water was more for other water sources that can be dangerous but I now understand how I didn’t explain that the best.
If it’s stagnant that’s usually the best tell
Very true!
bacteria oh no, germ theory proven
What is germ theory?
@@the.guidebook it's an unproven theory about bacteria causing disease that is taken as scientifically proven, when it's not. Like the newer version called virogoly. Both are pseudosciences: i.e. presented as proven with the scientific method, when in reality never proven. But nonetheless very lucrative.
@@the.guidebook A pseudoscience like virology. It presents a bacteria or virus to be the proven cause of disease x, when NEVER actually proven scientifically. Only slight of hand and avoiding the actual experimentation altogether.

Nobody cares
Good to know.
🥹this is awesome not many people have real trees anymore let alone cut them down themselves I think this is a beautiful tradition ❤️💚
Thank you! Our old apartment didn’t allow real trees so we got a fake one years ago and have been using it ever since. We are so glad we went out and cut down our own real tree this year!
I live in Colorado. Where did you do this at? How far did you have to hike?
Hohoho
